I’m gonna use this thread to vent a bit.Finally got around doing the highest level solo battles, am trying to get a win against Charizard EX with grass deck and am getting my shit kicked in.It’s fun though, first time in my life when I am trying deck building without resorting to netdecking. So far my best result was using pure skill cards like double Pinsir and luckshitting myself some heads, everything else (goats, Butterfree, Lilligant, Venusaur) is just too slow. Maybe I should buy a Beedrill. Also Erika and potions feel useless when most pokes die in one hit.Gonna keep headbutting this wall till I break it, wish me luck anons.

>>56973661I’ve opened a third eye recently, clock how many cards are in their hand, assume at some point balls, oaks and relevant mons have been played, if it’s a fat hand and they get a kirlia a bit later (ie not right after ralts) assume there was a garde ready in the hand. Another one is if you have sort of sussed out that the opponent is planning something that involves certain trainer cards, such as a Sabrina, Gio or Raichu-Surge combo. If you can actually catch their play ahead of time (or the game is very close and coming to its climax even if you don’t know exactly what the opponent is planning, just that they’re planning /something/), then slam it down Thirdly there are some pretty obvious tells about what evos are coming based on things like energy attachment. Most times players will just make the obvious telegraphed play and deal with red card because it’s still the best overall play but you still get game info from it. Biggest one is Mistykeks putting out a Staryu and attaching energy to it, if you Staryu lead, even as the only mon (water decks usually hide a ball or other basics in the hand), or if it gets energy priority over other ex on the bench , then they have a Starmie

The main engine is shuffling between Golduck and Frosmoth. The best parts of the deck are the speed, cheap retreat, the lack of a single weakness and being able to handle all the water decks. The downside is that if you lose the race all your Pokemon are 90HP so there is no way to recover if your opponent sets up. It can't beat Pikachu unless they miss their draws or they don't wake up from Frosmoth.
