■ niji scenario memo

A coming-of-age story for boys and girls
"A story of becoming stronger through a journey to say thank you to legendary Pokemon"

Adventure.

Meetings and partings.

People and Pokemon.

People and other people.

Everyone who plays the game will have different thoughts.

Give the theme universality.

Legendary Pokemon

Evolve.

Mate.

Leave offspring.

Legendary Pokemon are mysterious creatures.

Legendary Pokemon are not necessarily complete depending on the type.

This allows the imagination to expand as to whether past legendary Pokemon have evolved.

I do not want to create pre-evolutions of legendary Pokemon that appeared in previous games.

Rethink the relationship building with legendary Pokemon.

Legendary Pokemon were given a sense of presence to players by fighting them at the climax and forcibly capturing them, as they are targeted by enemy organizations, but will we continue to follow that?

In niji, legendary Pokemon are known from a young age, and by helping them, players can empathize with them more.

By avoiding forced capture, can't we maintain the freedom of Pokemon to adventure with any Pokemon you like?

Regions without a Pokemon League

Chronologically, this is after XY (ORAS).

Not all regions in the Pokemon world have a Pokemon League.

By depicting how the Pokemon League was created, we can ask questions such as: What is the Pokemon League? Who created the Pokemon League, and why? By giving meaning to settings that were merely symbols in the game, we can add depth to the world.
>>
>>57109166

What are the Champion, Elite Four, and Gym Leaders?

In conjunction with the establishment of the Pokemon League, we will also depict the selection of Gym Leaders, etc.

This will provide an opportunity to think about the thoughts and stances that characters from previous works had when they took on their respective positions and how they performed them.

Gym Leader Candidates

Instead of picking out strong trainers and making them Gym Leaders or Elite Four, we will set up attractive trainers who it would not be surprising if they became such trainers.

See "The One Who Gives" below.

The Bestower
The name and treatment of Pokémon trainers, equivalent to gym leaders in other regions, will be "the bestower."
This name is tentative.
We'll think of something more appealing.
Something that will make people want to promote it and strike a chord with children.
The idea is that the "bestower" will challenge challengers and bestow useful items and wisdom for their adventures, such as Pokémon (Umino's suggestion), berries, fishing rods, etc.
This will make it easier to motivate people, as they will understand that there is something to gain from battling.
We also think that it will give them a greater sense of accomplishment than ever before.
The background to this idea is the concept of a cultural hero in mythology.
A cultural hero is...
A legendary person or certain animal who is said to have brought about meaningful inventions and discoveries, such as fire or methods of cultivating crops, and contributed to the culture of the human world.
They are also called tricksters.
As an example of a cultural hero...
Prometheus in Greek mythology defied the will of Zeus,
successfully deceiving the omnipotent and omniscient Zeus, and brought fire and grain to humans.
Maui in Polynesian mythology is the protagonist of countless adventure stories,
who brought fire to humans and major technological inventions.
>>
>>57109167
From here on, it's just an idea...
In the Niji region, long ago,
Pokemon such as legendary Pokemon
would bestow things on people.

As time passed, that role changed to humans.
The "givers" can be said to be the ones who connect Pokemon and humans.

When the Pokemon League and Pokemon Gyms were established,
they were modernized to a system of Gym Leaders...
I think it would be more interesting if gyms were just created.
I don't intend to question whether modernization is good or bad,
and I don't intend to go into too much detail,
but with this kind of background, it's easier to write about people's thoughts.

Being an archipelago

Divided into islands.

A device that adds variety to the scenario.

A sense of accomplishment from going to the next island.

The map doesn't have to be a linear road.

The area you can go to can be narrowed down, so even if you get lost, it won't lead to a big loss. It increases the freedom of map creation.

You lose the natural guidance that comes with a linear road,

but in return you can increase the satisfaction of adventuring on your own.

Enemy organizations

Realistic, like those that appear in a boys' and girls' adventures.

A presence that desires prosperity on the island.

However, make sure to set up a proper feud with the protagonist.

NEXT Scenario Team
Meeting minutes 2013.09.26
Written by: Matsumiya

This is a memorandum of the meeting held yesterday (2013.09.25).

■ First, the scenario team's future schedule
・For the December presentation
Main character
Legendary Pokemon (package)
Plot
We will solidify
・Pillar planning will take priority until the end of September
・In the future, we will submit plot ideas and hold meetings from time to time

■ Including Umino's requests

Basically juvenile
・Main character is 11 years old
Same as Red and Green

・Meeting and parting
Main character comes on a trip and returns (Umino)
You need to play even after you finish (Sugimori)
One year later (Umino)
There are various proposals, including the flow of time in the game.

Stupid adults
・Causing trouble, but also useful
As a trickster.

Traveling Merchant Island

Mobile raft town

Pokemon conventions

Professor

Enemy organization

Gym leaders, Elite Four, etc.

If there is something you want to do with the scenario or system

It's possible to adjust it to that

For now, it's the same as before.

Unno-san requested that NEXT stick to "7",

so there might be seven gym leaders.

※The reason for 7 is omitted.

I want to reduce the cost of Pokemon gym gimmicks.

・Why are there 8 gyms? (Unno-san)

・8 is a good number in terms of action game grammar

Villain

・The one that came up as a joke was

Team Darkma (dark matter).

・First, think about what to have them do in the scenario.

・How about a female boss? A pattern that hasn't been done before
>>
>>57109197
my nigga

thank u
>>
>>57109201
Treatment of legendary Pokemon

・Forced capture during the scenario is not the best

With the system of the Master Ball, it's ridiculous (Sugimori-san)

・I agree. I thought I had taken care of the Kyurem fight in the B2W2 scenario (Matsumiya)

・B2W2 was definitely good (Sugimori)

NEXT timeline
・Provisionally the latest
By the way, the timeline so far
Red/Green ≒ RS Gold/Silver ≒ DPPt BW (XY) BW2

Legendary Pokemon evolution

It would be good to know the secrets of Pokemon (Sugimori)

・Going into a ball is a defensive instinct
Why do Pokemon have that instinct, etc.

That's all.

Matsumiya

>I'll be going now. Goodnight anons.
>>
>>57109212
>Red/Green ≒ RS Gold/Silver ≒ DPPt BW (XY) BW2

Entrance performance - scrapped

In Battle Royale, when each player appears,
you will be able to customize the entrance BGM, entrance effect, and motion to give each player individuality.

^This scene can be customized for each player.

To customize the entrance performance, we will prepare an NPC and allow you to change the settings by asking questions.

The BGM, effects, and motions to be registered have yet to be decided.
We plan to prepare about 5 types.
Existing items will be used except for the effects.

[Map image and demo of the Battle Tree]

The Battle Tree is a giant tree that towers into the sky, and players
will climb higher as they win battles.

Appearance
I plan to have it designed so that the top cannot be seen.

When you look up at the tree from below, it seems to go on forever, but you can't see all the way to the top because of the clouds or mist.
(I want to create a scene where the camera looks up.)

Battle Area

If you win, you climb up a ladder-like platform to the next floor.
(The presentation is simple, considering the tempo.)

The lowest floor has no hole to the lower floor, and there is a computer.
There is also a BP shop with three shop staff.
The 50th floor is a boss battle, so the floor is luxurious.

【demo】

On the first floor, there is a receptionist at the altar at the entrance, and once players decide to challenge, they will climb up to the battle area.
To prevent players from just walking up to the battle area, the receptionist will talk to them if they just stand in front of the reception desk,
and if they do not accept the challenge, they will be taken back one step.

In multiplayer, an NPC or communication partner will appear from off-screen in front of the player who is talking to the receptionist,
and will climb up in a line with the player and line up in the designated position.
When playing wirelessly, players line up in parent, child order.

After the screen goes dark, the player automatically climbs up and takes the designated position. (The walking distance is short considering the tempo.)
The opponent will be in the planned position from the beginning, facing each other, and the match will begin.
>>
>>57114012
If you win a match, the receptionist will come over to heal you and ask if you want to proceed to the next match.
If you request the next match, the receptionist will leave and the player will automatically go up to the next floor.
The screen will go dark as you are shown walking towards the next stage. (The walking distance is short, taking the tempo into consideration.)
The screen may go dark just in front of the receptionist due to the tempo.
This will repeat forever until you lose.

If the player loses or chooses to abort,
the screen will go dark and they will return to the reception on the first floor and listen to the receptionist's conversation, ending the game.

*Make sure 1P lines up on the left.

In multiplayer, the player and NPC will line up in that order and line up in their designated positions.
In wireless games, the parent and child will line up in that order.
>>

Reward Girl Rejected idea

When you report your winning streak, the girl will give you something according to the number of consecutive wins.

The girl who gave you a berry when you won 100 consecutive wins will give you a reward for even more consecutive wins.

By adding an element that makes you want to play once a day, we will extend the life of the game.

Rewards (tentative)

5 consecutive wins: Moo Moo Milk

10 consecutive wins: Points up

20 consecutive wins: Mysterious candy

30 consecutive wins: Max points

40 consecutive wins: Silver crown

50 consecutive wins: Ability capsule

100 consecutive wins: Sun berry

200 consecutive wins: Star berry

Flag management

Post-win processing

Check for date updates
>>
>>57114019
Event Scenario - Rejected Proposal

In niji's battle facilities, we will strengthen the event scenarios to enhance the replay value.

As you repeat the challenges of the battle facilities,
a special character will appear randomly every 5 battles.
The special character will be a character that can be battled that appeared in the main scenario.

If you beat this special character, that character's scenario will progress.
The scenario will not only progress one chapter each time you meet, but also have a story that is considered to have met the conditions when you meet, eliminating the sense of finiteness of the story.
>>
>>57114023
Rank System - Rejected Proposal

A new system called the "rank system" will be introduced to niji's battle facilities.

Players can earn points based on the number of consecutive wins at the battle facility.

These points are added only once when the date changes,
and the points added will be the highest number of consecutive wins on that day.

Of course, experienced players who can extend their winning streak will rank up faster,
but even non-experienced players can aim for a higher rank by challenging every day.

When you rank up, an event will be triggered as a reward,
and you will be able to receive something valuable.

Relationship between rank, points, and rewards (example)

Consecutive win points
Rank 1 - 10 - A rival will appear and praise the player. You will receive an increase in points.
Rank 2 - 20 - A gym leader will appear and praise the player. You will receive a mysterious candy.
Rank 3 - 40 - A gym leader will appear and praise the player. Receives Max Points.
Rank 4 - 80 - A Gym Leader will appear and praise the player. Receives a Focus Sash.
Rank 5 - 160 - A Gym Leader will appear and praise the player. Receives a TM.
Rank 6 - 320 - A Gym Leader will appear and praise the player. Receives a TM.
Rank 7 - 640 - An Elite Four will appear and praise the player. Receives a Pokemon.
Rank 8 - 1280 - An Elite Four will appear and praise the player. Receives a Pokemon.
Rank 9 - 2560 - The Champion will appear and praise the player. Receives a Master Ball.
Rank 10 - 5120 - The Professor will appear and praise the player. Receives a ball throwing animation.
>>
>>57114028
Up until now, the only purpose of Battle Tower-type facilities was to record consecutive wins,
so if you couldn't keep up your winning streak you felt a great sense of emptiness and it was hard to maintain motivation for the next challenge.
By adopting this new system, there will be meaning in accumulating records every day,
which we believe will increase the sustainability of the facilities.

Pokemon Island (tentative)

An island where you can let the Pokemon in your box out to pasture and have them help you with jobs!

■What is Pokemon Island?

Pokemon Island is a place where you can let the Pokemon that are usually in your box out to pasture.
Pokemon Island is a different world that can be reached through an Ultra Hole.

The Pokemon you let out to pasture on the island can do "helping" = "jobs that will give you an advantage in your adventure".

The gameplay style is to go to Pokemon Island while playing the main game of Niji and ask for "help", then return after a while to receive a reward and ask for "help" again,
so that it can be played while doing other things.

In addition, the function that was originally planned as a "Poke Parle Portal" will be moved to the Poke Parle + screen in consideration of the actual usability.

*Image

■Aims

Development perspective

(1) Easy to play for everyone

Elements that appeal to light to mid-level players

(2) A trigger for players to start playing games again

Seller's intentions

(1) Stories that can be used for PR

(2) Elements that can be linked to external parties

Player's perspective

(1) Elements that can be played immediately

(2) Functions that are useful for adventure

(3) Effective use of Pokemon lying dormant in the box

■What you can do on Pokémon Island

Pokémon Island is a large island made up of seven islands.

You can "help" with different jobs on each island.

●About the islands

<Sports Island>
An island where you can increase the base points of a specified stat for a specified Pokémon.
By leveling up the island's functions, you can increase the base points of multiple Pokémon at once.
>>
>>57114176
<Fruit Island>
An island where you can grow nuts found in the field.
By leveling up the island's functions, you will be able to grow multiple types of nuts at once.

<Egg Hatching Island>
An island where eggs can be hatched.
By leveling up the island's functions, you will be able to select multiple eggs to hatch at once.
*However, this must be balanced with other egg hatching specifications.

<Development Island>
An island where you can level up the functions of other islands by using the power of Pokémon and competitions.
The manager of Pokémon Island lives here.
There is also a volcano that periodically erupts competitions.

<Training Island>
An island where you can increase the level of a specified Pokemon.
By leveling up the island's functions,
you can increase the levels of multiple Pokemon at once.

<Exploration Island>
An island where you can explore caves and obtain items.
By leveling up the island's functions, you will be able to explore multiple caves at once.

<Interaction Island>
An island where other people's Pokemon will visit via communication.
By interacting with other people's Pokemon, you can receive competitions, obtain bonus effects like O-powers, find eggs, and other surprises on the island.
By leveling up the island's functions, the probability of receiving bonuses increases.

*Reason for dividing into islands

The reason for dividing into islands is because we are conscious of the limit on the number of Pokemon that can be displayed at one time.

If we could switch screens for each island, we should be able to give the impression that there are lots of Pokemon within the limit of the number of Pokemon that can be displayed.
>>
>>57114186
■Image

Your ship will not be displayed, and the main operation will be through touch on the lower screen.
The functions on each island are operated by touching objects and buttons on the lower screen.

●Upper screen

■About Conpete

●What is Conpete?

For some reason, Conpete is a mysterious item that periodically erupts from the volcano on the central island.
It is a sweet that Pokémon like to eat, and can also be eaten by humans.
In Pokémon Island, it is used as currency for time-saving items and the like.

●How to get a Contestant
In Pokémon Island, you can get a special item called a Contestant.
This item appears periodically on each island, and you can get it by picking it up.

*Other ways to obtain the item
If we prepare the item data, we think it will be possible to make it obtainable as a "mysterious gift."

However, we are not planning on a system where it can be purchased directly with cash, such as buying a competition with cash.
This is because it would be difficult to take measures against fraudulent modifications, and we expect the costs of implementing a payment system to be high in the first place.

● How to use the Compete

-Time saving
You can reduce the time it takes to help out!

-Function expansion
Necessary for leveling up your island (function expansion)!

-Exchange for cash
Give it to the manager and they will buy it from you (if possible)

-Snack for Parure?
It might become a snack for Parure. (Undecided)
*We will consider whether to make it a snack for Parure in the future.
