It's been too long since I got to sit down and discuss Pokemon biology. Let's talk about Friendship evolutions. At a layman's glance, the idea of quantifying the power of friendship to induce Evolution is kind of absurd compared to exposure to radiation from stones or absorbing energy fired off by Moves in battle, but surprisingly the premise is rooted in real world biology. I mentioned oxytocin in a previous, unrelated post--the love hormone that rewards the body for social interaction and bonding. For infant humans and juvenile social animals, releasing oxytocin as a result of physical loving plays a vital role in regulating the flow of healthy growth hormones. Without this steady flow of oxytocin, the developing body switches into panic mode, "the protector(s) is dead," and starts pumping out cortisol as a response. This causes stunted growth and, paradoxically, premature growth as well. Put simply, it causes the body to grow wrong. In humans, it causes a well-recorded phenomenon called "failure to thrive" in which even a body that has all its base needs provided for will still induce marasmus and waste away because of a lack of physical contact. In pack animals, this causes their bodies to speed through development to reach reproductive age early at the cost of physical and mental longevity--in coyotes, the absence of a parental figure to dote on a juvenile causes them to become sexually active at six months of age instead of the standard twelve months. Yet another reason to advocate for total coyote death. Anyways. While marasmus was probably the furthest thing from Gamufreaku's mind when designing friendship evolutions, it is worth noting how much it overlaps with baby Pokemon and taking unlovable or antisocial Pokemon like Zubat and Chansey respectively and skyrocketing their power level. So it really isn't at all Farfetch'd to say that doting on your Pokemon would stimulate their growth both physically and mentally in order to grow stronger.

Midge update: had her first quest, was kinda mid, Definitely not what I was expecting. I got to do everything I wanted, status conditions, got the boss Stuck and Trapped, but the whole thing felt lacking. The GM had a battle with another player lined up for after and it seemed like they were trying to speed through the whole thing to get to that. I definitely felt ignored at times, not that I want to be catered to, but the only time anyone acknowledged anything I said was either the GM on my turn or when I would do something to benefit them directly. Not to mention the format they use to play is pants on head retarded. They open roll20 and use it as a map only and then do the whole thing through a dice rolling bot in discord. Unlike skunks, Stunky has the unique benefit of being able to use its noxious spray offensively via Poison Gas, Acid Spray, and if trained or cross-bred, detonating their gases in fiery explosions. No need to waste energy digging through the earth to reach a Rattata nest if you just gas or burn them out and force your meals to come to you. True to this observation, we can see Stunky's territory overlap with exactly the kind of prey you'd expect a mesopredator to indulge in (bonus points for Route 214 including fellow mesopredators Houndoom and Mightyena): Kricketot, primarily, but also mons like Wingull, Dedenne, Starly, Rookiedee, Pawmi, Applin, and Shroodle, to name a few.The lattermost is almost tailor-made to be prey for Stunky, as Shroodle's foul-smelling territory displays rings a dinner bell for an undeterred Skunk Pokemon.

I do care about accuracy but I try not to be "offensive" when I tell the person about it. I know Archivist told me that in Episode 5 Alex was holding back because he wanted to "gain info about Azelie" or something so really as long as you justify how Alex acted I don't think I should mind.
