Dragonite is ultimately at the mercy of rng and can brick by not pulling evo's or getting the wrong energy, but Mew lets you stall longer than pretty much anything else. Some people use Druddigon, but it dies faster and the extra 20 damage it does isn't relevant when Dragonite will hit for 100-200 anyway.

I expect the game will become more like rock-paper-scissors involving Typing, like a Pokemon game. There's bound to be a deck or two that turns up that they did not playtest, but outside that I think we're just gonna get meta decks of each type until they're all represented.

Godpack WPing has really increased my enjoyment of the game immensely. Not only do I get to collect a free 2* every 48 hours, but I also get the thrill of hunting them down, and then I also get the slot machine dopamine of hoping I pick the right card. I finished both the 5 consecutive ones in one sitting (6-1, 7-2), but I still recognize it was mostly down to me just using meta decks and lucking out. The only times where I feel like I actually outplay my opponents is when both players brick and the match stalls until like turn 25 and it turns into "the player who moves first loses because the opponent will revenge kill and sweep". Those battles are like once every 50 battles.

The 5 win streak has an unquantifiable “stress” adder that warps people’s playing, either making them more/less likely to missplay and more/less likely to concede. A match 1 could go any way, but the same match as a match 4 would play out differently since there’s more on the line. 3. The inverse of the above is that the win 45 is almost completely stress free, you just have to grind it out and you’ll eventually get it, meanwhile there exists the possibility of never getting your 5 win streak as anons pointed out.All that to say that I do agree it’s just a numbers game, I just think there’s a psychological difference that rightfully clouds people’s ability to see that, and that’s a factor you can’t calculate in when just looking at the statistics
