Despite the fact that the story is effectively a 'murder' mystery, the 'deaths' are more cartoon friendly 'vanished without explination' sort of deal. And I've got a 'no cursing' policy for the story, and somebody even left a comment about how it gave them the same vibes as official pokemon spinoffs. Pretty proud of that. Technically the villains are actively trying to kill kill the protagonists as opposed to vanishing them, and I do try to hit moments of genuine (bloodless) horror scenes. I want it to somewhat kid friendly.Crystal Light does have more mature themes, but it's a very idealistic story. I'd say it's more of a young adult level of maturity. There may be a damn or two, and bollocks get tossed around. It does deal with issues of grief and loss, and one of the major themes is if ideals can survive reality. It's about as mature as your average fantasy story.
