Tell him to hurry up and regroup with the rest.
Using rams as buses for Teutonic knights is fun. Some hobo attacks your ram - five armored guys show up to beat him up.

Do you believe a game's quality is always subjective, or can games be objectively good or bad?
>>12022910Enlighten us.
>>12019037If subjectivity is the only truth that means nothing is good and nothing is bad which is poison for discourse. Objective truths need to exist in art so we need a mechanism to determine objectivity and this >>12019279 anon said it perfectly. What version should i play?Thinking of getting the SEGA Ages version on my Switchie, but i could always emulate.
>>12027140I don't like arcade rooms due to the quarter munching game designs that inherit. I will play them and I'm done, but honestly I want home ports of arcade games. However, they can't be downports
>>12027248*roms
Isn't the 3DS one by M2 supposed to be really good? Probably not the best if you want to play on a big screen, but I remember reading it has a cool cabinet layout and good 3D effects which I can guess it suits a game like SH
>>1202724832x is basically a perfect arcade port
This game was sorcery and arrived out of nowhere at the arcades. It was on par with dragons lair from a few years earlier, in terms of drawing crowds. It felt a generation ahead of everything else from 1985.>choplifter>commando>gauntlet>ghost n goblins>paper boy1985 was decent but then space harrier at the end of the year out of nowhere. It landed in North american arcades early 1986 alongside the newly arrived super mario bros and it felt like space magic. I sucked at it.
Previous thread: >>11986381Rules of the thread are simple:>You can only talk about games and systems made before the US release of the NES (1985). Everything before it from the CRT Amusement Device to stuff like Marble Madness and Kung Fu Master is cool here. Later and homebrew ports for Pre-NES games on Pre-NES systems are allowed (e.g. Jr. Pac-Man was released in arcades in 1983 but the 2600 port came out in 1986)>That's it.How do I git gud at arcade Battlezone? Also how do you bind that game? My binds for my Dualsense controller are okay but I wanna know if I can do better.
>>12023585>>12023797I found the rom and played a little bit. It looks really fucking good for 1980. The gameplay is addicting too. I'm probably gonna sink a good few hours in this.

We hear a lot of 70s gaming in the US and Japan? But what was European gaming like in the 70s? That one driving game that was the inspiration for Atari's Night Driver is pretty much the only game I know of that came from Europe during that time, but there's gotta be more.
Starting play pitfall. Originally thought it was just a running and jumping simulator. But after reading the manual, I realize the game wants you to route all 32 treasures, and in order to do that you have to use the underground passage ways. And to go backwards instead of forwards.
Pic unrelated. I played through all SH games and wasn't scared AT ALL, despite people saying they're scary as shitRE was also not scary. So what are some actually fucking scary horror games? The kind that makes you literally stop playing because you're too scared to continue??
>>12019318You're wrong. Silent Hill is the scariest and creepiest game. Everything about it is disturbing. I think it's fair to say that's it's scarier than Silent Hill 2.

>>12018046It's literally the original game running in an emulator with an optional graphics overlay. It's hard not to fuck that up, but as we've seen with Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver's remasters it can still happen.
>>12014569>>12014638Dookie af
>>12014569I wish Sega didn't hire clearly subpar dev studios to make their remakes (the House of the Dead ones are atrocious) and instead built a team with at least some of the original developers, but doing the former most likely is way cheaper than the latter and alas whoever is in charge wants to produce cheap cashgrabs. So best case scenarios given the circumstances...A) Zwei's and the following remakes somehow sell enough to convince Sega to produce a higher budget proper new game for the series, bringing back Yukio Futatsugi etc.B) The MegaPixel Studio staff finally learns how to make a remake with a visual style that is aesthetically faithful to the original and doesn't bring new flaws.C) It sells like absolute shit and whoever is in charge at Sega gets tenderly told to fuck off, and his replacement does a better job.

Do you still refer to shooters as Doom Clones? What do you call a game that is both a boomer shooter and a metroidvania?
>Do you still refer to shooters as Doom Clones?I never did. >What do you call a game that is both a boomer shooter and a metroidvania?Shooter with metroidvania elements.
>What do you call a game that is both a boomer shooter and a metroidvania?Retro FPS, throwback FPS for newer games. Exploring complicated levels and unlocking them in parts is innate to these games. "Boomer shooter" is as self-insulting of a term as all other /vr/shit calling itself "bing bing wahoos" would be.
I prefer corridor shooter
>>12025926Doom clones are a very specific kind of shooter, it's not just any fps.
Wish "boomer shooter" never caught on and became a common term.

>>12025553>this professional comedian's TV show is JUST LIKE my youtube/twitch e-celebs because they both play videogames and talk about the games! The difference between Arino and your e-celebs is Arino isn't getting paid because you watch GCCX, he gets paid from the production company that is getting paid by the TV channel in Japan that airs GCCX and their sponsors. Unless you live in Japan and watch the show live, or directly buy merch, he isn't profiting from you. E-celebs get paid more the more viewers they have watching ads on their videos/streams. Due to the ad profits, talking about e-celebs is effectively advertising for them. Talking about GCCX makes about as much profit for GCCX as talking about the 90's Super Mario Bros movie makes for Nintendo. That's why GCCX threads are allowed on /vr/ and /v/, and e-celebs are not.
Please...forget about the movie
>>12026218>this kind of advertising is allowed but THIS one isn't because...because it just isnt okay!!!more contrived hypocritical weeb faggot logic. again, i wouldn't have a problem with this but you fucking faggots are always disingenuous with your argumentsyou will never be Japanese.

Been playing through this. Prior, I had only played 9, 10, and X1-X3.It's alright. I've been going through them in order, and just finished 4 a few hours ago. So far all of them are blending together as 7/10 decently solid, albeit kinda forgettable experiences.Mega Man thread I guess.
>>12027424I haven't noticed any. I did some quick googling; you may be thinking of the Legacy collection.>>12027416I liked the mermaid design of splash woman, I thought it was neat. Probably one of my favorite designs, honestly.
>>12027424It did come out for both the GameCube and PS2.Things about the GC port....-Does not have the PS1 Arrange OSTs for the games-Does not have additional Video Options like in the PS2 version.-Capcom released a MMX8 branded GC controller, even though MMX8 never came out for the GC...
>>12027452They also swapped the jump/fire buttons for the GC port for some reason.....
>>12027416scientific name for a fat fishe
>>12027454The reason is because you are going to be pressing the shoot button much more often than the jump button, so having it be the big, central button makes sense - if you've never played a Megaman game before. If you're a veteran with muscle memory, it might drive you up the wall. I prefer how they did it but I can understand why some people don't like it. They should have let you change the controls.
