>>12023151I remember that. IIRC he said his parents were pretty young and they were already having issues but the game was basicallg the last straw. Crazy to think two people can create a little child together and want to abandon that family unit one day, and I'm sure the game wasn't the main factor but just ended up being a further source of stress during the few times where they were supposed to be relaxing and not arguing over petty shit. I hope that guy is doing alright and has/finds a nice wife of his own to have kids with so he can end the cycle and have a happy life.
>>12022521i get what you mean but this is almost the opposite of the situation with TP because in that case the next gen version came out first and was shit compared to the last gen version
>>12023962resolution shouldn't be an issue, the game supports fullscreen just not widescreen. are you on win 11?
>>12025427Aye, Windows 11. No other retro games give me a similar issue
>>12025463did you try setting compat for windows xp sp2 and runnning as admin
>we have Dune 2 at home
>gets laughed out of e3
>>12025947>shitty demo>based productbetter than "see that mountain? you can climb it" meme.
>>12025947>>12025956Yeah, there's absolutely nothing embarrassing about falling flat on your face the first attempt only to redeem yourself a little later. If this had happened today, the devs would've just released a long post about how players "just didn't get it", push it to market anyway, and then wonder why it sold ten copies. Being able to take criticism with humility and develop from it is key to any project.
So Turtle WoW is the best option?
>>12025973So you just don’t know what “main character syndrome” means, huh? I haven’t contradicted myself once either. You should close your tab like the other guy did, assuming you’re not him.
>>12026103It's better than anything sega shits out nowadays
>>12024463>im such a socially awkward faggot that even in a fantasy game were my appearance is hidden, I still repel women
>>12026631Nope, I attract them, they just aren’t actual women.Weird self-report tho.
>>12026492Considering the shitshow that is Ring Racers and the fact Sonic Team Jr. is full of nobodies, no.
Just a couple more days for the translation...
>>12025439>fMSX doesn't even work for me, I get stuck at blue screen... Can you share your settings?I think that your problem is with the bios
>>12025826Hmm, retroarch reports
>>12022421I only played on the PC98 so im not familiar with the differences between the versions, I remember having to switch disks frequently (I think the PC98 version was on 7 disks). If the MSX supports mouse make sure you use it, I enjoyed clicking on enemies with the mouse.
>>12026561Translation team released patcher which combines all of the MSX's disks into 1 rom. Useful, but MSX version runs like crap, slowdowns everywhere.
Working Designs
>>12026132Alberto 'Dyssey.
>>12026184Yeah Im pretty sure it's supposed to be a play on word in Japanese>Alberto Odyssey
>>12026110I’ve only played Popful Mail. It was challenging, but I enjoyed its quirky script.
>>12026110Awful translations and even worse gameplay changes. Served the purpose of bringing more niche games over at the expense of shitting them up, often literally.
>>12026110Possibly the worst thing to happen to gaming.
Which is supreme to you? MK2 basically perfected the original game with the same gameplay tightened up and with an expanded roster. UMK3 took the gameplay and made it more hyper with running and long sequenced combos
>>12025813mk trilogy lets you disable running/dial-a-combo, basically making it a huge roster mk2
original MK had big dick energy
man the more i play of trilogy the more fucked up it feels compared to umk3stages have the wrong songs AND they play slower for some reason.songs no longer have the "endings" that play on round end.fatalities don't have the second part of the chime that plays after the kill is done
>>12026592that game always felt like a mod or mugen
>>12026592>songs no longer have the "endings" that play on round end.>fatalities don't have the second part of the chime that plays after the kill is donethanks to "next-gen" CD-audio
#404 next week is Samurai Kid.https://otn.fujitv.co.jp/gamecenter/index.htmlhttps://pastebin.com/u/GCCXGeneral
>>12025841>he's different because...H-HE JUST IS!typical faggotass soiface weeb
>>12025553>this professional comedian's TV show is JUST LIKE my youtube/twitch e-celebs because they both play videogames and talk about the games! The difference between Arino and your e-celebs is Arino isn't getting paid because you watch GCCX, he gets paid from the production company that is getting paid by the TV channel in Japan that airs GCCX and their sponsors. Unless you live in Japan and watch the show live, or directly buy merch, he isn't profiting from you. E-celebs get paid more the more viewers they have watching ads on their videos/streams. Due to the ad profits, talking about e-celebs is effectively advertising for them. Talking about GCCX makes about as much profit for GCCX as talking about the 90's Super Mario Bros movie makes for Nintendo. That's why GCCX threads are allowed on /vr/ and /v/, and e-celebs are not.
Please...forget about the movie
>>12026218>this kind of advertising is allowed but THIS one isn't because...because it just isnt okay!!!more contrived hypocritical weeb faggot logic. again, i wouldn't have a problem with this but you fucking faggots are always disingenuous with your argumentsyou will never be Japanese.
>>12026529The actual difference is that he was doing all of this 4 years before the first video let's play was even uploaded and that show played a huge part in keeping interest in retro games alive. This is something you could've looked up yourself if you weren't a fucking idiot, but let me know if you need me to baby bird anymore extremely simple pieces of information to you.
What's your favorite Pokémon from the original 151?
>>12019757Today? It's basically impossible to choose. But if the question if which one I obssessed over the most as a kid, it was Charmeleon. Not even zard. Meleon. I thought zard was kinda lame.

Are Sega Saturn emulators good yet?
I wouldn't know, probably for the same reason you don't

Whatever happened to silly mods?
>>12026008>zoomers have no idea what a c drive isHow computer (il)literate are zoomers in reality?
>>12025775keywords "used to", everything now is monetized.
nobody downloads funny mods anymore unless if its shrek or thomas. they are trapped in 2014
>>12026032They use phone and text good, but otherwise have absolute shit tech literacy and opsec, probably never touched an actual computer in their life.
>>12025003they still exist but most people want either "lore friendly" immersive content or straight up coomer fapbait. like all these codkiddies being pissbabies about their goofy crossover skins wouldn't have been complaining about them 30 years ago.>>12026032>How computer (il)literate are zoomers in reality?in all seriousness probably about as much as everyone else. i doubt the average joe is just casually building gaming PCs or learning to code in their spare time.
I am playing Earthbound, and i am having fun. Thanks for listening
>>12025510>fan merchEw.
>>12025510oh cool, i forgot they had an earthbound guide too. their mother 3 guide is great and used to be online for free, still archives of it up though.
Alright, anons. How do we feel about the greatest motherfucker of all time in this series
>>12026402He's a literal CHAD. Recently did my first Mother playthrough with him to the end.I also got the Banpresto figure.
>>12023006I'm mad at Nintendo for a lot of things, but this isn't one of them. If anything, high prices make collecting more exciting for me.>t. >>12022046
Delicious!
>>12025730I want this kind of marketing to make a comeback
>>12026073Gamers these days are too sensitive and will cry about console warring
>>12025730what does the N stand for
>>12026420Nah it's more like stuff aging very poorly in the internet age. That video PlayStation made to mock the Xbox One looks really bad in hindsight.
>>12025730From who are the shoes?>>12026459I g g e r
The later games felt a bit too serious after this, even Anniversary and Underworld. Personally, I blame the Nolan Batman movies and their place in the zeitgeist at the time.
>>12025613>Anniversary is the good one. What about those stupid one hit death trap walls?
I like lara's booba
>>12025613>Anniversary is the good oneIt starts pretty fine but the quality only goes down as you progress. Original is a much stronger game.>>12026309
>>12024512Dumb retard. Legend was the beginning of an era. Angel of Darkness was the actual end
>>12024512For me, Underworld was the last old-style TR. You can identify it by how she side-jumps when holding a ledge. If it's snappy then it's a fun old game. If it's dangling mo-cap then it's one of the dark & brooding titles.Fucking emo spirit infects everything.
I remember loving this game. Killing camps with people. Playing a dwarf cleric and making friends in the capital. Going back is impossible.
>>12024790Yeah, it's really similar to Quake. Can almost guarantee you that whatever tool they used to make the zones for the first few expansions was heavily based on WorldCraft.
>>12022759>>12022769>>12022804>>12022807Can I get the demo running on a win98 machine with a decent gpu (for the time)? I'd love to record some footage of the demo and make a comparison to modern EQ and eq servers.
>>12020234>>12020452>>12020453I miss fantasy art before everyone tried copying blizzard
My dad passed away. This was his favorite game even up to the n64 release he still asked me to play baseball with him.
Wholesome thread, never played a baseball game though
>>12015284Sorry for your loss.
>>12015284It seems that playing sports video games with their father is common here, that's wholesome. I played tons of Winning Eleven with mine.
>>12016818>If you remember an FF2 (NES) thread from August 31 - September 1Link?
>>12016818F, man. I'm sorry about your loss. I love FF2 on the nes and ps1. It's one of those games I just go around powering my characters up over doing the story. I love how open it is and how you can end up in high level zones if you aren't careful or how you can make it to end game cities without needing to progress through the story. Most of the time I abuse the cancel glitch to power up spells. FF2 is the perfect example of good ideas executed poorly.
