JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY THIS GAME IS HARD
get in here COWARD
First time playing SNES port, it seems pretty good. Killed one SinistarRRRRRRAAAAAUUUGHHHH
Oh and if you're playing from a collection of very legitimately acquired games, it might just be called Arcade's Greatest Hits rather than Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits
>>11093409>SNES and Genesis (William's Arcade Greatest Hits) versions onlyone of these is feeling a lot more difficult than the other
These threads are cool but you're making them too often. I think you should stick to one game/thread per week.
>>11094318Sounds like a good idea. So only change games after a week (or the thread gets deleted)?
>>11094318Agreed. We should also have a set time when score submissions end. Additionally, it would help attract more attention if you started putting /hsl/ in the OP image, like how /hbg/ does it.
>>11094617Made this as a concept for an OP image. Based loosely off of the Pong flyer. I think it would draw attention to the thread quite well. Feedback is more than welcome.
BE WHERE I LIVE
>>11094318It's been like what? Every 3 days? The threads will die after like 4 days.>>11094617I was OG OP and was using the title screen and made a border to go around the title screen. I thought new OP was going to use a recurring image so people got used to it/knew what the thread was.Btw I downloaded like 2 different SNES rom packs and neither of them have this game. Why that is? Is this game not poi
>>11094971did you check >>11093765
>>11094983Oh. Durrrr. It wasn't a standalone game though?
>>11094990not by the time 4th gen came aroundthere were some earlier port attempts like the 2600 proto, but its not the same game without that voice
>>11093409Collecting the crystals is damn difficult. My best strategy was to just ram into the planetoid and keep shooting.
Is there any particular reason we can't play the PS1 or Saturn versions?
>>11095114Just ease of access. Though I suppose they aren't too different since they're all from the same collection.
>>11095123Cool, just barely eeked in. 63,215This game is super stressful, I love it. Maybe we can do Robotron in the future?
>>11095272Doesn't Robotron need two sticks or something?
>>11095321Sinistar was played with a 49-way joystick so there are some concessions that need to be made for home ports; You can use the face buttons as a second stick.
>>11095272Back on top. I'm starting to feel like I could destroy 2 Sinistars with some practice.
>>11094318this board is so dead it hardly matters it's like one thing that almost everyone here can potentially participate infirst time posting in one of these but I say fuck that, keep it up and post more as long as people are actually showing up
>>11095342so what you're saying is they wasted another opportunity to use that bloated frisbee on the saturn for something cool like accurate joystick input
Decided to see for myself if the Saturn 3D pad worked for this 49 way thing of course not, the game didn't even take input from the controller in analog modeI think that was the first time I've ever killed 2 Sinistars
>someone broke 100kThat's gonna be a tough one to top
>>11096536maybe the saturn one is easier or something
>>11093761
These ports are fun but it's becoming increasingly clear that having the extra directions of the joystick is important to the gameplay. Unless I'm being fooled by the sprite, the shooting enemies seemingly can only fire 8 directions, so hitting them at other angles is probably one of the main strats for them besides the fact that they take a second to start shooting (a second which often seems to be offscreen on SNES, even with the sidebar retracted). Getting those directions to work with a dpad is pretty rough. The Intellivision happens to also have a strange controller with a lot of directions, as well as a voice synthesis addon capable of similarly spooky speech, so it's a shame we never saw a port for it.
>2 days and the high score hasn't been topped>Page 8Next game is gonna be Wrecking Crew since I made this thread before the previous winner could respond. But after that will be whatever >>11095586 requests or another wheel spin. I gotta say I'm liking the amount of participation these threads are getting! We may build a little sub community full of high score hunters here. Next thread will be posted at midnight CST
finally broke 100k in donkey kong nes
