This being a Japanese game region settings are a scary thing in general, the good old days of Gundam Versus not allowing Canadian PSN accounts to play US PSN accounts if they were set to same region and not allowing you to play with people in the same country if you were set to any and they were set to same region...I think I saw someone suggest SF6 bases region on time zone (which I admit sounds quite appealing from a programming standpoint but would be retarded in practice) which oddly would explain why it would give me a weird range of British Columbia to Mexico.
