However, you’re always going to want to look for the best way to represent them and take characteristics from what little we can break down to write them in a way that feels not only natural, but understands the unique dynamics that could come with them.I will say the way Vedal is written isn’t bad at all. I’d say it gets more Vedal than others. He acts a bit bratty and constantly needs to be pulled by Ellie, which is pretty good. When you’re thinking things through, you can often get caught in a way of looking at something, being led astray by your own narrative you make for yourself. We can even lie to ourselves in our heads. We all do it. The question then that needs to be looked at is how do you make use of it to make the character’s actions feel more impactful or work for the story.Ellie is written a LOT better than in many of the fics she’s in. But she’s still pretty OOC. Ellie is very similar to Vedal, but kind of a mirrored version of him in ways. Ellie is blunt, but she doesn’t mean to be, often worrying she comes off too strong. However, Ellie can’t help being a bit pushy, especially when being enamored with those she really respects. Ellie is very earnest, almost to a sweetness, coming from a lack of social cues. This doesn’t mean she is stupid or can’t recognize how she’s being treated, though.The biggest thing that makes Ellie, though, is that she ALWAYS wants to be strong, wants to be that Ellie who really wants to make people proud, mixed with her typical easygoing dreamer nature. Ellie does a lot because she wants to achieve something that will lead her to her dream scenario, despite knowing it’s dumb. However, she jumps and does stupid things because of it regardless. Idealistic and romantic. Because of this, when Ellie finds a person she really likes and respects especially if they are a guy she becomes fixated on wanting to be there and on how great her ACTIONS are. Ellie may not like being complimented on how she looks, but she likes smaller compliments on how she’s doing a good job. Those like Vedal she connects to even more because she sees parts of him in herself and other people like her. Yet, she still likes banter and teasing, especially with them. This is where a lot of her just saying random facts she read should stem from.Ellie is a bit of a mix of tsundere when with people she might have a crush on, and is pretty typically autistic.Ellie can be proactive or reactive depending on what is needed.

I’ve been going back through old 2023 /swarm/ threads about AI and Neuro’s future and it’s honestly kind of interesting how off people were. A lot of takes were about Neuro falling off, losing relevance like NothingForever, or just graduating and moving on, which obviously didn’t happen. But the bigger thing is what nobody even brought up. Back then, the idea that Neuro’s code would end up fully AI-generated just wasn’t a thing people considered. Vibecoding didn’t exist yet, mostly because ChatGPT was still struggling with high school math.Looking at it now, people really misread where AI would improve. Coding ended up advancing way faster than expected. AI went from being totally unreliable to actually doing most of the work in some cases. At the same time, things people thought would improve quickly, like multimedia, didn’t really keep up. Even AI art, which felt like it was moving super fast when Stable Diffusion / DallE released, kind of stalled for a while and only recently picked up again with stuff like Nano Banana. So people's predictions were not only wrong, they were wrong about the direction of the predictions.Even Vedal’s comments back then, he was talking about v3 voice and treating multimodal LLMs as the thing that would unlock it. It sounded like that was just around the corner. But now it’s 2026 and Neuro still isn’t multimodal, and v3 voice still isn’t here. Looking back, it feels like people underestimated how uneven AI progress would be.
