Especially when you get signs of life on another account less than 24 hours after a teary graduation. It's part of why I don't really like "vtuber culture" and how it all flows downwards from corpos that have a proven track record of not treating people very well, but everyone tries to emulate them anyway because "that's just how it is"

It is just an entertainer moving to a different place of employment but they aren't given the dignity to be open about that, they're forced by NDA's to be coy and just hope their old community finds them through word of mouth or digging on their own. No one makes a fuss when a musician changes labels or a wrestler changes companies or a game dev gets a new job. But more than any other entertainment industry I can think of Vtubers are treated as revenue generation pawns by corpos more than people using their talents in a creative craft, so they're expected to burn everything around them when entering/exiting a corpo because they aren't allowed to acknowledge that anything outside of "specific brand" exists or even that there's a person behind the avatar that is just shifting to a different gig.
