After listening to the new island vacation videos, I thought to myself "Why is it that Kronii is always written so poorly and out of character in these things? How can that be, when everyone else tends to be fairly on-point?" Then, I had the ultimate realization. I realized that it is not the writing which is out of character, but that it is Kronii who is out of character.The perfect example of this is her solo portion. I mean the 3rd and final video featuring her. There are lines written very casually and quite in-character using "man" or "dude" or "cringe" and yet here she is delivering them with such hamminess, completely dripping with unnecessary exaggeration. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad if this were a Shakespearean play she were voicing, but it's not. A while back, in regards to her Idol Showdown appearance, she spoke a little bit about her mindset when it comes to voiceacting as Kronii, and she let on that she tries to think of how "Kronii" the character would deliver a line. This, I believe, is the source of the awkwardness and dissonance that plagues much of her Holo voicework. Instead of just dialing in on the Kronii we know, with her own natural propensities, she instead thinks it better to voice the archetypal Ouro Kronii character, which sits separate from herself in her mind.This is, frankly, quite a shallow and one-dimensional character, with little depth or expression. The result of this is that much of her Ouro Kronii voicework tends to sound very samey and predictable, and not in the believable way that suggests familiarity or naturality, but rather in a manner which sounds very canned. She is, essentially, pigeonholing herself into this one, very flat method of delivery. Which is such a great shame, for her to under-utilize her own range and ability in this way, considering that she can actually be quite impressive when led with strong direction.TL;DR: Kronii is not a bad voiceactress per se. She can voiceact well, but I'm not convinced that she necessarily has a good understanding of how to do that on her own, or what really makes a good voiceacting performance. She is, after all, an amateur.
