It's harsher than other examples I know like the US FTC just sending warning letters to Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo over voiding warranties over just opening or not using a correct part on a part that isn't relevant to the warranty repair. But since this regards wages, they probably had to do that. And Cover admitted as much given they said themselves in the statement it failed to properly explain its demands in the original design orders, thus causing the need for multiple redos.
