Anon, explain difference between oil paintings and other paintings. Do they look better? Are the best pieces always oil?

I mean yeah it's kind of the go to for any professional artist and it has been for centuries. From the top of my head, I cannot think of a single watercolor artist. But I am a philistine when it comes to art... I just like looking at pretty paintings.

Anons, this a /g/ level comment, but what's a good upscaling model for oil paintings?

I have photos of oil paintings I want to make large enough to look nice on a 4k screen.

Oil painting has slower drying time allowing for greater artistic command. Oil paintings are also water resistant & last longer.
