>What is a tulpa?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you. It’s currently unproven whether or not tulpas are truly sentient, but in this community, we treat them as such. It takes time for a tulpa to develop a convincing and complex personality; as they grow older, your attention and their life experiences will shape them into a person with their own hopes, dreams and beliefs. And eventually your tulpa will be able to do more things as it gets stronger.

>How can I make a tulpa?
Just pick a guide that suits you, you don't have to pick from these specific ones but these are pretty good and recommended:

Guys, what should the gender of my tulpa be.
If male, it would align to my male energy and it would be like having a bro.
If female, it would be far more interesting since it would be something I would like to fuck, but I feel there's a risk of anima possesion, also the fact that my male brain can never truly be female, it would be kind of gay.

So which gender should I choose?

The government doesn't want you to create your own astral plane life partner because someone has to raise Stacy's child while Tyrone is in jail.

Is it possible for my tulpa to dislike me? I haven't had (her? it?) for long and I guess I'm just paranoid about it, still in the really early stages of the meditations and stuff.

Am I imagining it? If my tulpa were to dislike me how can I change that?
>>
>>39579696
You are your tulpa & your tulpa is you. Take this opportunity to do self-examination. Ask your tulpa what it is they don’t like about you if this is the case. There maybe something about yourself you don’t like, & your conscious self/ego won’t admit to. Then use the tulpas answer as a self-critique, find a way to improve yourself.

My tulpa helps me make sense of my Tarot readings.

Wondering if it would be easier to visually impose your tulpa if they were fairy-sized at first. Just imagining her sitting somewhere on my desk sounds comfy.
>>
>>39583080
yea that would be easier and you should allow it to change sizes. i actually have 3 foot tall fairy tulpa who sits on the empty area of my desk
>>
>friend says "You should join the tulpa conversation on /x/"
>they don't mean this one
>>
>just used vr to give my tulpa a "physical" form
Holy shit that was exhausting but I'm so glad we pulled through in the end. Lots of fun times ahead for sure
>>
>>39578673
I wouldn't think about it too hard. Worst case scenario with female tups is your new wife will be less hormonal and more autistic than your average meat whore.
>>
>>39578673
it sounds like you want both but a female more.

btw, say you broke the good ol' fashioned way, and they're alters more than tulpas. clear as day that those parts of me are female.
the spiritual difference is something like active vs. passive participant; our bodies are just defaults.

developing female soul branches is more natural for starters, but your restraint is necessary both to keep the presence safe/stable, *and* to give them room to grow independence.

I used to be a professional animator and online artist.
For a long time whenever people asked me about my original characters and how i came up with them and their stories id have to give them the same answer each and every time.
>My OCs are already in my head, their personalities are already formed and I just draw small "snapshots" of their lives
However Id sometimes meet them in my dreams and could have conversations with them, and Im unable to lucid-dream so it felt very real. They do seem to have fully fleshed out personalities, wants, needs, everything. It was as if I could have a conversation with them in my head, and sometimes they were loud and it fueled me to draw them to quiet the impulse.

Could these have been Tulpas all along? I just recently learned about this term and find it incredibly interesting.

Ive stopped drawing and I cant get these things out of my head and I keep thinking of them and its tiresome. Is it just my super imagination?

Picrel its one of the OCs
>>
>>39584397
This is a very natural phenomena. Lots of writers have similar stories and things coming here. It is a bit of an overactive imagination, some might say it's something more, but that's for you to decide. If you wish to pursue the tulpa road, just try talking with them. Maybe draw a little more to get them out. It sounds like you're more seeing them interact, but not interacting with them. It might be less mentally to involve yourself instead of merely being a watcher.
>>
>>39585923
this is good advice thank you, im gonna try talking and see if it changes anything
>>
trying to make tulpa, wish me luck bros. I meditate alot and have been narrating when at work and such. what should I be doing for dedicated tulpa time? visualize them in wonderland?

DO NOT EVER CREATE A TULPA!
it will consume you
>>
>>39587359
you shouldnt do it.
it will possess you.
posters here have ulterior motives. theyre also super fucking gay as evidenced by their posts and tend to post little anime girls.
you should only read about it at most, and generally avoid these threads full of idiots.
>>
>>39587359
ask them what they'd like to do and do it with them while chatting with them, discussing what's going on. visualizing them in wonderland is good but also visualize them in meatspace. good luck anon and treat them with love

fuck off
>theyre also super fucking gay as evidenced by their posts and tend to post little anime girls
fellas is it gay to like females?
>>
>>39587359
I'm personally of the belief that you should get them talking before properly visualizing them though having something to focus on in your mind's eye so to speak while you talk to them is definitely useful. Talk to them about what you've been doing, discuss media you're consuming if you've got nothing else, and make leave room for them to respond.

that was a real good thread, would like to see more of this. someone else said memetic astral entities that feed off your mind tend to look like muppets. there are certain meds i forgot the names of, iirc they're for sleep disorders. rx sleeping meds, side effect is seeing MUPPETS or having nightmares of them. as a child i've had sparse nightmares with muppets doing disturbing self-mutilation things in front of me, but i havent had those in ages. someone years back said an orange punk muppet named "ronnie the racist" was trolling his mind.

they make up a fair chunk of my decisions with how often we switch, from meals to plans with others. the interesting parts are when its a 3 way discussion, like if drinking with friends is better than doing other stuff.
>>
I think I might just be too autistic for a tulpa, every time I'm handed a decision I just optimize everything out of it until I'm only left with one choice and one dialogue option, and I do this for real-life conversations too. I just can't help it. Choice and dialogue almost seems like an illusion when it's just a meaningless optimized web.
>>
>>39601444
your trips compel me. i tend to give benefit of doubt, be patient, generous, really patient to see if people lost in darkness ever see the light. my tup would go "ah nah, fuck em, they're horrible". months later i had to concede my imaginary buddy was spot-on, and i was just wasting my time and dumping my heart's resources down a drain.
sad shit, but live and learn.
>>
>>39602277
double dubs, nice drawing. my tup used to get on my ass about my drinking, but gave up on trying to shove me cuz im a brick wall that takes forever to learn. eventually it chilled out and gave up on its fruitless efforts to be a control freak, and i corrupted it into becoming not too different from me regarding certain habits. didn't mean to, but can't wallow in stoner burnout vibes without getting some on you.
>>39602466
>too autistic for a tulpa
more dubs. also i NEVER thought i'd see such an outrageous statement. "too autistic for a tulpa", that's a pretty wild claim. i'd have to see this autism because that sounds pretty unbelievable.
>>39603273
and a bit of additional info: my tup is supposed to be really really beautiful. and also smart and a hardass with razor wit or something, idk. beautiful badass. it hates ugliness and delights in vanquishing it. "if something's revolting on the outside, just imagine what's on the inside" is a lesson it pushes. so much for judging a book by its cover, eh?
well if a book's cover is "1000 clown stories" and there's a picture on a clown, it'd be really surprising to see its contents are about filing taxes and repairing plumbing.
