Do you like this series? And is there a worse ending to a otherwise good anime? I rewatched it after a long time and I think it was fun until end of season 2, the last season just makes it a convoluted 100% action mess

Tonegawas speech about not wasting your life half awake and ignoring the stakes is iconic. I only first watched Kaiji because someone posted it here. They're obviously amoral and downright evil, but you have to keep it in perspective that their victims are mostly gambling fiends. People that have by their own accord gambled their lives away. To guys like Tonegawa, these people have already forsaken their lives to Teiai. That doesnt make Tonegawa good, but Tonegawa never set out to be a righteous moral person, just a guy that is ultimately aware of the cutthroat business hes in and he accepts he has to sink or swim. In the end he faces his own horrible punishment with dignity, he accepts he lost. Ichijou is presented as some sort of dark mirror to Kaiji. Hes bright but an underachiever like Kaiji, but he choose to forsake his morals becuase he couldnt bear being looked down on, while Kaiji himself is a far kinder person who looks for the best in people, much to his own detriment, but its also what ultimately he used to win against Tonegawa. He didnt underestimate Tonegawa, he fully expected Tonegawa to be as dilligent and sharp as he is, so he made a trap considering exactly those virtues. Kaiji even comes across as an older, wiser figure agaisnt Kazuya, who in essense is a spoiled rotten rich kid who belives he was abandoned by his mom and overlooked by his psycho dad. None of this justifies what they do, but theyre not presented as some mustache twirling bad guys either. Fukumoto makes it clear to humanize them. Theyre believable villains.

How do you keep track of the manga you're reading?I always forget the last episode and couldn't enjoy the latest content, because I read too many manga and it's hard to remember all the plots. Sometimes I also forget that I've read this manga already and I only happen to read it now because the translation of new chapter is out after a long while. I don't like this fragmented experience. Am I the only one feeling this?
