>>269903643I made a post a while back with recs so I'll just copy paste it again.Personally I'd recommend 1, 4 or 8.1, because it is the first one ofcourse and you can beat it within a day or 2 without guide and with a guide within an afternoon.4 is the start of the zenithian trilogy which consists of 4/5/6.You can start with 5 or 6 also with 5 being one of the fan favorites since they are all centuries apart.I feel like like you get more out of them if you can get how they are connected to eachother despite how loose that connection be.8 is basically gaijin's first DQ and is set in a complete standalone universe and pretty much the framework for modern DQ games.The other recommended starters are 3, 5 and 11, but I feel like you would get more out of it if you are more familiar with the preceding games.5 for example is wildly different since you are in fact not the legendary hero or dragon knight equivelant and you are following a character from his childhood to adulthood who is searching for the legendary hero and unlike the other games most of your party members will be generic monsters instead of a party of humans.11 is set in it's own standalone universe, but it is very much a celebration of the franchise up untill and has tons of little references to older titles eventhough it is set in it's own verse.Pic related is /dqg/'s guide that has some more info like which version is the best and spinoffs.
