I like how the policeman's story can ultimately be taken as a cautionary tale of the dangers of flaunting traffic laws befitting his profession in public safety (and possibly stemming from his personal experiences).

This was a Friday went Dad comes back, and the hand on the window in the last panel was probably the policeman staking out Yuuma's room to gather evidence of abuse to take action with.
