Dude at this point who is seriously still scared of crashes? The market will always recover in no time. Other than the great financial crisis, the dot.com bubble and then going all the way back to the great depression, when has a crash ever been anything more than just an amazing buying opportunity? When the market crashes, just buy the dip and wait a couple of days, weeks, months and you're back in the green. Even during those big boy crashes it was still a great buying opportunity, you just had to wait a couple of years rather than months to get back into the green.

Sentiment is much more important than material at this point. There is no rule of law in the US stock market, he literally told people to buy like it was a shitcoin. There are still 10% tariffs at the lowest, there are still 25% tariffs on mexico and canada. There is a 100% tariff on china. It was a short squeeze, and I think people will take the opportunity to sell and/or hedge to wait out and see if he does anything crazy

In 1860, Henry Varnum Poor formed Poor's Publishing, which published an investor's guide to the railroad industry.[17] In 1923, Standard Statistics Company (founded in 1906 as the Standard Statistics Bureau) began rating mortgage bonds[17] and developed its first stock market index consisting of the stocks of 233 U.S. companies, computed weekly.[1] Three years later, it developed a 90-stock index, computed daily.[1] In 1941, Poor's Publishing merged with Standard Statistics Company to form Standard & Poor's.[17][18]

On Monday, March 4, 1957, the index was expanded to its current extent of 500 companies and was renamed the S&P 500 Stock Composite Index.

By actually identifying risks when you purchase stocks.
>How established is the company?
>How widespread is it?
>Is it growing at a decent pace? If not, is it innovating?
>What are the angel investors looking at?
>Does it risk alienating consumer bases?
>What is volatility sitting at?
>etc.
Most retail investors don't fuck with puts and calls for a reason, it's essentially gambling with an educated guess if you don't have any insider info. If you want to make money, diversify and long stocks. Most importantly, don't worry if you don't get the tippy top when you do sell, just make sure you buy when the market isn't getting pumped and dumped like a cheap whore like it is now. Bad days and volatility is ahead for the long haul and it's only going to get worse. Also, buying stocks two - three days after a war kicks off is usually a good call.

In the age of modern navies, in order to cut costs, the pentagon has announced a bold new initiative:
Drone based robo-sail boats.
Yes, america has re entered the age of sailing folks. And our new (old) sail boats will be the best ships of the line ever made, with long range anti ship missiles, radar arrays powered by coal boiler engines that can operate for 10 minutes each day, and a range measured in... well fuck magellan got across the whole world at least he crew did eventually even though he died?

"Gosh, the bonds are sure going in a weird direction... but, shouldn't it go the other way?????"
No one knows
So I'm guessing china trying to offload some american treasuries because they think america might use it against them. Either fully stop paying the interest or even refuse to redeem the par value. Or just nuke them and declare those treasuries invalid

Trump also straight up told the chinks to get their money out of the american stock market on feb 19th, right before the crash started. No one picked up on that, or even has any explanation as for why the sell off began on that date
But maybe I'm falling into
>Is chinkland responsible of ALL of america's economic woes? The answer to this question, and more on how CHYNA IS THE ENEMY, tonight on Primetime News at Nine.
Even I have self awareness to spot that, even though yeah china is the enemy and we need to destroy them, as well as russia and all of america's enemies, cuz... duh

top kek, when there is a world war 3, all markets will go down like 95% since the global economy would implode, making BIDU 5-8% of my portfolio is not really a risk. The US needs China, China needs the US, and they both know this.

good point, and yes the markets did get wrecked during ww1 and 2, but uh... chinkland won't recover so good. They will be far more damaged on account of losing BIGLY
but maybe buying after will be good? That was true of germany and japland after ww2 ironically enough.
>The US needs China, China needs the US, and they both know this.
yes, which is why we need to decouple
This trade war is dress rehearsal for ww3.

Well, now that George Edward Glass got confirmed as US Ambassador to Japan yesterday, we will likely find out if Japan was the culprit this week since George Glass is a famous China hater who successfully forced Portugal to reduce Chinese investment in their country. George Glass will report back to Trump about any Japanese shenanigans.

From Reuters
>There was also some concern that China could offload U.S. Treasuries, something that would take time to show up in official numbers. China is the second-biggest foreign holder of U.S. government debt after Japan, holding almost $761 billion of bonds in January.
I’m curious to see when it comes out who was selling, how we get access to that info and when exactly I don’t know

It was hedge funds offloading treasuries from the treasuries basis trade worth trillions. Usually a safe play hence the popularity among hedge funds but when treasuries rise so do the losses for hedge funds. Hedge fund managers like Jamie Dimon pressured Trump to cut tariffs yesterday and why Trump said the bond market is doing well. China can't offload billions in treasuries in a short timeframe
