I agree with this sentiment. Right now buying PMs outright isn't a great idea because the volatility is driving up premiums. Better to arbitrage the GSR and trade gold for silver, then when the GSR drops to 25-30 start trading back.
>>
Eventually when the GSR has settled (which I believe will be in the high 10s/low 20s) I will start trading my Ag for Au and keep it like that. If the GSR goes back up, great, I can multiply my silver. If not, gold is easier to move.

I am a poor renting euro fag, so storage room does play a role. And the evil tax man would rape me on silver. Gold on the other hand and all gains on gold are tax free.
I can see your point and also that there is more potential with silver. But I think that there is also more risk involved with it. Too many players that want to suppress it. I've seen the dump of 2011. It was an annoyance in gold (in fact it was a chance to buy more for me), but it was brutal for silver. I can see silver closing the gap, but I can't see it in a 1:15 ratio or lower. At least not in the near future.
Gold is the more boring bet. But it had me sleeping well for the last 16 years.
And if shtf royally, I can shove it up my ass and go wherever I want. Try that with a hundred kilos of silver.

I’m not selling or exchanging a single ounce if I can help it. Not until we’re living in a post collapse paradigm where I’m directly exchanging gold or silver at a natural rate for the goods of life, groceries, fuel, energy, ammo, services, etc.

Then and only then will my sacred metals be sold. To do otherwise would be at a loss, and paying a fraction into the hands of the evil jews who poisoned the last century and seek to dominate this one.
>>
>>61475743
Basically if they tell you ahead of time what they are paying for gold or silver and what they are charging you can do the math and it will be right. There's some paperwork they skip if there's no cash being exchanged. Unless they changed the rules since I traded for the monster box in 2020

Is the goal to rocket the price quickly so the layperson won’t think about buying silver?
>>
>>61476002

Retail price have very little impact on the price at the moment, very few peeps are buying in the west.
Its Russia, China, India "central banks" (bit more complicated but works as a place holder) and now other big banks and investors.

As always the normie is the last to get on the train.

What we do or say in this thread is trivial. (imo)
>>
>>61476002
I wouldn't be surprised if they let it rip to at least $2000 in a very short amount of time when the pieces are ready.
If they do it quick, then people won't have time to buy any of it, they'll instantly be priced out and it won't be in the hands of the masses.
This way, they can still hold lots of it, which they can use to keep some control.

I'm actually thought I was smart and sold a few covered calls on miners around Thanksgiving, which I am currently underwater about $1000.

That was around when silver was $53 and never pulled back like my wise ass thought it would.

All my silver long postiions are up multiple tens of thousands in the same time span, so I shouldn't be worrying about going broke, but it's amazing how this annoying loss position can constantly nag my thoughts day in and day out.

newfriend PMs are for accumulating, not for selling
if you want to swing trade to get more fiat go with PSLV or mining stocks
we only trade PMs for other PMs when their ratios correct, or land, or businesses, or productive assets
PMs are insurance against hyperinflation and/or AI effectively destroying all digital wealth (note - NOT insurance against total societal collapse)
if you don't hold it
you don't own it
>>
>>61476282
I don’t plan on selling. You will see why in the next year or two.

No because PM cornering have been planned by China for decades and the supply deficits have been known for 5 years. It's simply that the can couldn't be kicked down the road anymore, and the slingshot effect is hitting hard.

That said, the timing to me is more interesting than the price movements. China is so aggressive lately, i start to wonder if they didn't figure out something about silver the West still isn't aware about. Could be a new application in AI computing, or as catalyst for example. But maybe it's simply just commodity warfare. Compared to the amounts of cash sunk into gold each year, silver is so easy to move the direction you want if you have the purchasing capacities of the CCP.

they can't tamp us anymore lads
its just stair stepping all the way up to 3 figure... and 4 figure silver.

This is actually "slow" movement right now... all it takes is one little event, one push, one bad world wide news day and silver will sky rocket and become unobtainium witthin a few days when the normies want into metals, and out of the banks.

rejoice, the death of the u.s dollar, and fake fiat system will be in 2026.

For anyone new, or old to stacking, keep exchanging your worthless paper, the current prices are still in fire sale mode for silver and gold.

I did something similar in 2020. Gave out 6 silver eagles to family. They all seemed to like it and commented about how they liked the feeling of holding it.

Not a single one stacked any further than that.

OK i think i start to see a bit of fomo among retail, at least on ebay, silver is flying off the shelves and i see much more ppl following silver lots' auctions. Btw it's a great time to slurp low end numismatics of which premiums couldn't keep track with spot and are now basically selling for spot.

Numis premiums will eventually sling back once silver spot settle for a while. And silver getting more visibility might attracts newcomers on numis too.

A story a lot of us can relate to, sadly. At least it will have paid peace of mind, you really did try to tell them about it, only their own lack of foresight is responsible for them missing out (actually much worse than that, it puts their financial safety at risk to not have PM exposure).
>>
>>61477446
I noticed the same. A lot of the auctions I’ve been bidding on are going for over spot. Mind you this is stuff I used to scoop up below spot. Once too many retail wake up supply is gonna dry right up.

Yeah it's getting hard to find good deals. You really have to dig up far, and don't hesitate to directly contact the sellers to make offers to shortcut the auctions.
But some hidden gems are still out there. Negociated picrel yesterday with the seller soon after he auctionned it. A 1735's fork with great royal hallmarks condition, 85g of .950 for 80€ (140€ spot value, without taking into account the historical value). Feel gud fren!

What are we thinking the shape of this thing is going to look like? Farmers have no medium of exchange to buy fuel for tractors tier or controlled demolition everything is still super fucked but they manage to hold shit together long enough to switch to sound money?

Thread doesnt focus in, in particular, but im not sure what youre whining about. Now that biz seems to be moving more slowly more sophisticated threads/posts that might cover or discuss Eastern markets and their impact on global liquidity will pop up more often. This thread definitely discussed yen carry trade breakdown and is at least aware the GFC started in asia.

too many variables in my mind. It will be such a precarious balance that the slightest push one way or the other could cause everything tumbling down. That being said, its not just farmers, its the transportation, sale and distribution as well, all of which depend on complex infrastructure and finance. This is why I think that at the very least for a few years food will be the most valuable commodity besides violence in developed countries. I could be wrong, but I think the chances of a soft landing so to speak arent too good. However, I also doubt the world will go total mad max or anything.

according to a announcement from Guotou UBS Fund Management, trading on the 161226 silver futures fund was suspended from market open (9:30 AM) until 10:30 AM on December 12, 2025, due to a premium exceeding 20% (closing price RMB 1.94 vs. NAV RMB 1.61). This was to protect investors. Source: Southern Finance Network report.

>where the US crash looks like heaven compared the one coming in east asia.
tf are you talking about? All the current and future growth will happen there for the next decades or even a century. China is the new uncontested empire around the block. Nobody can compete in industrial capacities, in cargo tonnage, in scientific discoveries, in new patents, in military numbers & production volume, in gigaprojects, etc... The only thing left to determine is if the US will survive their outro from the empire they made. And it's not an easy task, especially when most of your monetary mass is in the hands of foreigners, so your politicians (jews) surrendered control over it in exchange of unlimited free stuff for the past 80 years.

That's the entire Trump's strategy, he does everything he can to bring back the foreigners' dollars home in forms that don't hurt the economy (i.e in industrial investments' promises). It's an excellent strategy, but there is so much USD out there.. he can't get tens or hundreds of trillions in reindustrialization capacity from delocalized factories. Only fully automated high tech or assemblage can keep being profitable once it comes back in the US. it will never be enough to prevent hyperinflation.

Lets just pray some psychojews and their neocon puppets don't go full destruction mode in true late empire fashion who refuse to face reality and spend everything they got left in pointless wars.
Because so far, between Afghanistan, Ukraine, Mali, Congo, Lybia etc.. (soon Venezuela) the US empire proxy/CIA wars aren't what we can call a great success. I fear the deep state double down in desperate attempts to clinge to global power.

They cant feed themselves, simple as. Not to mention almost all of their ag inputs require a global navy to protect shipping lanes from foreign powers and pirates, and they have serious water shortages throughout most of the country. Im not a "BIG RED LINE GOING DOWN CHINA IS FINISHED" fag, but to think that china could survive a collapse of globalization, which WILL happen if there is a collapse of the financial system, is laughable. Stop shilling for dirty, cheating chinks. It is unbecoming.

Nigher all the workers went home early this year because there's no fucking orders to make anything in their tier 1 cities, and to stay in a big city for work that's not there would be a waste of money when they can go to their home village and live cheap / lie flat.

And you know what the gov is scared of about it ? Local clans regrouping and growing in strength so they tried to push travel limits etc

Plus a fuckload of 30+ year old women whose only stipulation for marriage is somewhere between "idc as long as he doesn't hit me" and " he can hit me just not a lot"

do you know where you are? silver is at 60 rn, will most likely go on THE rip within the next 5 years and collapse the global financial system. Why are you debating the finer points of globohomo's death rattle? My point is simple, to reiterate for you: China is not equipped to do very well at all when globalization ceases to be the paradigm. Please respond intelligently.
