miss you and love you babe. hope you're doing ok. that's 10 years away and it's a worthy goal. know you don't believe in climate change, but it is real. look up the northwest passage. major security concern for us and europe that it's opening. plus smog is a health concern, and so is fuel and oil runoff into water. not to mention energy efficiency. sometimes the market does not really know best, and a regulatory push can really help things. if the government didn't stop it they'd still be dumping pfas in the water, using toxic pesticides.

the tax benefit is real money. i dunno about the "accounting adjustments" but you can't just claim a financial gain that doesn't exist. broadcom is growing rapidly too, so is the semiconductor industry. 1 bad quarter is just that. broadcom and the whole semiconductor complex are going higher, the industry is seeing significant growth and unprecedented demand.

Took a waymo for the first time a week or two ago, I was extremely drunk and don't even remember requesting it but I remember thinking that it's going to be huge and laughing to myself that this roomba is driving me around a major city. I'm skeptical that electric will ever completely replace ICE or self driving will ever completely replace humans but the technology is here. It drove almost perfectly aside from a brief hesitation coming out of a right hand turn at an intersection.

The enviro globalists are very hung up on tight timelines for everything. Some are true believers in the literal sense of end of the world in ten years. Others know it's entirely bullshit and feel the time pressure applied is instrumental to successfully pushing their policies through. Invariably when the deadlines get somewhat close they are pushed back as even the true believers can see the batshit emission goal in question is not going to happen in five years or whatever it is. I understand this. What I don't understand is their failure to embrace options that might actually stick. They could have pushed for a hybrid vehicle mandate instead of a pure electric only mandate. Hybrids don't have the electrical grid and charging station infrastructure issues, they are generally embraced by the public as a meaningful cost savings option, reliability is reasonable and power output is good. But no. All electric only.

Just realize that he's a new guy and you have to do things his way even if/when he's wrong. If he won't listen to you the first time you tell him he's wrong, then you have to be quiet and go along with it from that point, don't keep complaining or pointing out where it's going wrong, just keep quiet. Them's the breaks. Every new manager comes in thinking he can do it better than the last guy and it will take some time before he realizes why the last guy was doing it the way he was.
>>
>>61495517
>Fuck women managers

PREACH.

I've had one good woman manager over my entire career and she was a specialist who worked in high-pressure situations. The rest have either pissed me off so much that I'd get mad in my free time or being cowardly and constantly bugged me about wanting to know my feelings.

It's strange because I don't mind line managing women or working with them but if you have a character and value initiative then they start losing their shit.

i wasnt talking about bury's financial onlyfans, if you look back at the charts basically the top for nvdia and all of these AI related stocks was right before bury began ranting about the hardware depreciation miscalculations. The situation seems to have changed a little bit, instead of just slamming a +10% in stock price for beating earnings, the market seems to take its sweet time (1 or 2 days from the report release) to actually study if there is something weird going on. Of course you see a very strong movement of the stock price the day the report is released, but these rallies are very short lived and fade instantly after some shady financial juggling is discovered

>Oracle’s rapid descent from market darling to market warning sign is revealing something deeper about the AI boom, experts say: no matter how euphoric investors became over the last two years, the industry can’t outrun the laws of physics—or the realities of debt financing.

>Shares of Oracle have plunged 45% from their September high and lost 14% this week after a messy earnings report revealed it spent $12 billion in quarterly capital expenditures, higher than the $8.25 billion expected by analysts.

>Oracle’s bond yields blew out, with some newer notes that were once investment grade now trading like junk, as its credit-risk gauge hit the highest level since 2009. It signals that investors who lend to companies, historically the most sober observers of tech cycles, are beginning to reassess the risk of lending into the AI buildout.
Oracle
Oracle losing investment grade credit would probably be the start of the AI collapse so it feels likely that they would resist doing so knowing how much rides on it. It's probably already happened too, them knowing they should hit them with a credit downgrade and not doing so, because their bond yields are already in junk bond territory. And the credit swaps are trading as if it's already junk bonds

For long-term growth, dividends are shit due to constantly paying taxes as opposed to only paying taxes when you sell at the end of time. If you do the math, you will see that this causes returns to diverge exponentially.

Assume two financial instruments, both returning 10% per year. One of them grows in value, while the other pays 10% of its value in dividends once a year, which you instantly re-invest. Assume 40% taxes on both gains and dividends.

The value (post-tax, if you were to sell) of the first instrument at year t is A(t) = (1.1^t - 1)*0.6 + 1, whereas the value of the second instrument at year t is B(t) = (1 + 0.1*0.6)^t = 1.06^t. Notice how the value in the exponent is different 1.10 > 1.06. This means exponential divergence in returns. Setting t=50, we get the following: A(50)=70.8. B(50)=18.4. That’s a 3.8x difference in returns!

Note that this argument also applies to ever realizing gains early. Thoughts?

This is a retarded assumption because the max you'll pay in taxes is 15%.
But the main difference is some companies reach a point where theres nothing they can really do with money. Pepsi or Verizon can't increase their sales by spending more money so they return it to investors. It's safer than betting on a company successfully allocating their cash to grow their business.

There is no collapse babe. It is an opportunity for you to admit you were wrong and get in at a discount though. You are falling for the fud because you feel like it vindicates you, soothes your bruised ego. You would be better off reflecting on why you were wrong and taking a risk. Think back on this year, the things i have told you and what has played out. I may look like a fool for a time but it is clear i am on the right side of the trend. Ai is a civilizational turning point and a wonderful investment opportunity. There may be better ones but you aren't in those either. Wish you would trust me because there is so much i can help you with.
Financial media is extremely unreliable, its just background music for the market action of the day and it changes on a dime, just like the market
If ai were collapsing, the russell would not be making new highs, breadth would not be improving, the market would be rolling over. This is just a rotation, and the boring parts of the market having this rally is a portent of the good times to come from the wealth spillover from the ai boom. Why elae would it be happening with employment this bad, interest rates this high?

Or do they just want to take profits and are using burry as a cover for their regular year end profit taking. Ok, let’s add it up. Assuming a high income of 750k/yr in the high tax state of california:

20% federal cap gains
3.8% federal NIIT
12.3% california income tax (applies to cap gains)

That adds up to a 36.1% marginal tax rate for long term capital gains (and qualified dividends).

I was doing that during the rundown in 2022 from 60k to 10k and would have made bank if Do Kwon hadn't pumped shit from 40k back up to 49k with Terra Luna right after I bought. I held until I was less than $500 from margin call (at about 50k) before I finally gave up and sold so I would at least have *something* left while everybody was screaming "100K, here we go!", but then it never quite made it to the mark that would have wiped me out and within a few days was plummeting again.

Must feel worse for stocks. All that time spent watching charts, placing trades, the agony of losses, the short term joy of gains, and in the end break even. You could say you learned much but even after all that learning it yielded you no gains. So many years down the drain and it gets worse if you can't let it go. Sunk cost into continuing on, who's to say you won't screw up and lose it all? No amount of sunk cost is going to keep you in when you have no money left for trading.

put me down for 'nothingburger'
Powell is lying about job growth not being negative, but it's not as grim as people have been projecting either. We're just in-line for another month of krabby patties until we get New Years rally.

What has effectively been happening is what is known as 'phased layoffs'. Where companies do mass layoffs, but don't announce them as mass layoffs, because they aren't done all at once. So this way, they keep the illusion of being strong, healthy companies while never having to admit that they've been undergoing serious cuts. This boosts optimism in their company, and thus is illegal in some countries because of how misleading it can be. But it looks very nice on the jobs report.

All of the natural resources are located in the provinces that Russia currently controls - not a coincidence. What's left of Ukraine is only some farm land and Blackrock already bought it. The problem investing in Russia is, well the Russians.

If you are wealthy and the winning government is backing you yes. If the country, or what's left of Urkaine is dogshit, what are you going to invest in, and consider how corrupt Ukraine is. Also other European countries do not want the war to end, but they do not have the money or militaries to fight Russia, I think they are going to go full retard to start a bigger war before the US officially pulls out of Europe.

Expectation of the BoJ raising rates has been factored in for over a month and is one explanation given to the November dump the markets aren't going down small and mid caps keep reaching ATH the only sector down recently is AI related tech stocks fueled by Oracle and AVGO earnings because as I said their share prices were based on exponential growth for the next ten years this isn't happening so they're being sold off the only reason why people act like the entire market is doing bad is because people you see commenting online are overweight in these same stocks now dumping

Are you taking the appropriate steps to protect your privacy once you make it, Anons? Remember that: protecting your privacy = protecting your physical safety.
You don't want to be persecuted by financial stalkers, scammers or even worse kidnappers and hitmen and the only way to do it is simply to shut up and don't tell anyone about your net worth.
It's so simple: just shut up and don't tell anybody, there are only three entities that need to know about your net worth and these are the internal revenue agency of your country, your bank and your accountant, period. All the other people in your life need to mind their own business, asking someone how much money he has is considered extremely rude and inappropriate in western society anyway.

>Total nonfarm payroll employment changed little in November (+64,000) and has shown little net
change since April. In November, employment rose in health care and construction. Federal
government employment declined by 6,000, following a loss of 162,000 in October. (See table B-1.)

In November, health care added 46,000 jobs, in line with the average monthly gain of 39,000 over the
prior 12 months. Over the month, job gains occurred in ambulatory health care services (+24,000),
hospitals (+11,000), and nursing and residential care facilities (+11,000).

Construction employment grew by 28,000 in November, as nonresidential specialty trade contractors
added 19,000 jobs. Construction employment had changed little over the prior 12 months.

Employment in social assistance continued to trend up in November (+18,000), primarily in
individual and family services (+13,000).

In November, employment edged down in transportation and warehousing (-18,000), reflecting a job
loss in couriers and messengers (-18,000). Transportation and warehousing employment has declined
by 78,000 since reaching a peak in February.

>Federal government employment continued to decrease in November (-6,000). This follows a sharp
decline of 162,000 in October, as some federal employees who accepted a deferred resignation offer
came off federal payrolls. Federal government employment is down by 271,000 since reaching a peak
in January.
> (Federal employees on furlough during the government shutdown were counted as employed
in the establishment survey because they received pay, even if later than usual

>The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for August was revised down by 22,000, from -4,000
to -26,000, and the change for September was revised down by 11,000, from +119,000 to +108,000.

Honestly I’m pretty surprised that social media isn’t really overreacting that much about the economy. Looking at these numbers yes it appears Gen Z cannot get the job they got a degree for. Also U6 unemployment rates is terrible and up 1% during Trump. Only job growth was in retail sales, health care and social work. Some construction but definitely heck no not computers or business. Hours worked ticking up implies people working two jobs which would make me angry too. When people get stressed they buy random toasters and coffee and shit which explains core retail sales but also being too poor for a new car.

Thing is during a truly bad recession there wouldn’t even be jobs so it’s still a 4/10 economy that is basically you can live with it. That is my take on things.
