In naples alone there are dozens of good places with nice lever machines that will give you a good espresso. You aren't going to find a country with more good espresso places than italy. I don't know how fucking stupid you are or how you chose to go to whatever places you went to.

>>21073453Reduce the brew time gradually, little by little. If you don’t like the results, you can always go back to your current recipe.Stay within the 2:30–3:30 range, and adjust the grind size to achieve this.Personally, I would aim for 2:30–2:45 for a brighter cup.
>>21073480Dunkin Donuts is not bad, but Trader Joe's is better for your daily cuppa. It's my go to at 5 bucks a lb. Still, not gonna be any discussion around goffee that's extremely... solid.

>>21073472>would you accept 50% less steps in your grinderif it didnt make a difference? yes>but but butno. you cant tell a difference between coffee brewed with 200f water and 199f water.same reason why the whole "stepless grinders are better because of infinite adjustment!" is retarded.a 5.83738572 and a 6 is functionally the same grind setting.and if you really believed in what you are saying you would use a kettle that uses kelvinbut you dontwhich means you dont care or believe in what you are saying.
>>21073497It's more than solid, I think you should revisit it. I had it over the holidays at my parents and I was blown away.

>>21073503Kelvin is based on increments of Celsius, you ignoramus.
Young adult woman attending university here. How come my body is physically incapable of consuming coffee without adding copious amounts of sugar, milk products/alternatives and artificial flavourings? Apple Intelligence (beta release) is not yielding any reasonable answers.

>>21073494Thanks for the suggestion. I went up one small adjustment and the brew time was 3:00. It came out a bit bitter (still very good) compared to last time. I'm going to try going back to the first grind size but space the pours a little closer together and give the bloom less time. It's interesting seeing what changes in the process translate into in the final flavor.

>>21073528>>21073542>F is better than C for kettle temp because you have more granular control>K has even more granular control therefore it would be even better than F if you actually believe in what you are saying
>>21074145>>K has even more granular controlKelvin is literally Celsius + 273.15
>>21074145K is just C, but instead of starting at the freezing temperature of water, it starts at 'absolute zero' (lol).
>>21074148>>21074152>K is just C°F = °C × (9/5) + 32.what's your point?you said "F is good because more numbers, more temp control = more good"ok and K is even more numbers therefore it is even more good and you are a hypocrite if you dont boil water in K.c=cc=fc=kf=ff=cf=kk=kk=ck=flike do you not understand measurement conversions?you can convert or measure anything into/by anything.
>>21074200It's not about the quantity of numbers, (which could go on for infinity using any measurement standard), it's about the "steps" between whole numbers. C has bigger steps than F. Therefore, F is more precise.
>>21074226>it's about the "steps" between whole numbers.k has more steps between whole numbers than ftherefore k is more precisetherefore you should be using k to boil water to make coffee.retard
>>21074238It's about the size, or magnitude, of the steps, not the quantity. I thought I made myself clear.
>>21074238smaller increments between whole numbers = greater precision
>>21074238>k has more steps between whole numbers than fBoth can go on for infinity. Your argument is invalid.
>>21074244>Both can go on for infinity.then there is no "best" unit for boiling water.if you say there is infinite f,c,k then they are all equal.

>>21074250We are discussing precision here, sir. Both meters and centimeters can go on for infinity. However, centimeters offer more precision than meters because the increments are of lesser magnitude. Now read that again because I'm sure you misread the first time.

>>21074263why are you talking about units within the same measurement system?>We are discussing precision here, sir.yes and if you have infinite numbers then you have infinite precisionif you can make your kettle do 99.999999999999999999999999c that is no different than 211.99999999999997158f

>>21073503Hey I know people already told you you're retarded, but Kelvin and Celsius have the exact same level of granularity, retard.

>>21074145>>21074200>>21074238whoa I didn't know you were actually dumb, I apologize for using the word retard, I'll try to explain it.coffee water will only ever be between 40f (my fridge) and 212 f (boiling at my altitude). I am not freezing the water for my coffee, the water for my coffee will never be in raised above the boiling point or pressurized to boil at a higher temperature. this is the range where my coffee water exists and needs to be measuredbefore this next part, I'll remind you of some earlier posts, just for context>>21073472>my gooseneck kettle is adjustable in 1 degree temperature increments regardless of unit. a shift of 1 degree c is ~2 degrees f>>21073503>if you really believed in what you are saying you would use a kettle that uses kelvinfahrenheit has more steps between integer (whole number) values in those ranges (or any other, for that matter) than kelvin or celsius, which both have equivalent larger jumps per integer unit, thus less steps. it takes fewer degrees c to span the same gap as something measured in degrees f. in this context, celsius and kelvin are IDENTICAL, the setting on my kettle would just be shifted by 273 degrees or so in one direction or the other. kelvin is completely irrelevant to this discussion. the range for my coffee water spans ~172 degrees fahrenheit, ~96 celsius, and ~96 kelvinhere's an analogy: you could measure your coffee beans for a pourover in ounces. you could give decimal precision that would be identical to gram measurements. but if you can only set your scale to read grams or ounces in integer values, you will pick grams every time. if there was an "ounces plus" unit that was (ounce measurement-300oz), that unit would be the same as ounces within a set range, and not that good for measuring beans for a pourover
