>>150362285Grown up tommy gives off stan marsh vibes

>>150360368Obnoxious jew kid that has nothing to do with the based little babby he was. All that bravery, leadership, willing to push things, wanting to explore things, wanting to do the right thing all evaporated and he was left looking for a purpose, with no group dynamics whatsoever, which is the worst punishment you can give to a main character. And to counter that, they decided to dial his everything up and make him a hyperactive reject. As the other anon said, they truly did turn him into Stan Marsh. Also, the whole show was just fucked as a concept, not necessarily just because the age-up, but because they made them 11 year olds, who looked and acted like high schoolers and looked like ugly klasky-csupo abominations. The artstyle that was a huge hit for babies and their vision of the world was absolutely horrendous for realistic teenagers. Their personalities also did not take the translation well, generic teen drama simply requires different archetypes. There is only so many times they could rehash Chuckie learning how to be brave or Angelica learning how not to be a cunt.
Why is CatDog hated in recent years?
>>150383045And the shit they pulled out literally was just "other characters hate catdog and beat them up". Like, what the fuck else is even there? Their relationship is very rarely explained, most of the time they are just fucking each other over, they don't go on adventures, they don't strive to achieve anything, they have no goals, they are just there, like a sack of shit getting pummeled and shit talked, even in their own home. I genuinely don't know whats even the hook there, the fact that they are, y know a Catdog barely even comes up, there were only a handful episodes doing anything with it from the hundred.>>150383129Good parenting.>>150382792You'd think the HUNDRED FUCKING EPISODES would have been time enough to develop something, or react all the proverbial boos of the audience and make something of the show, take it some direction, develop a style, anything. Look at how much other cartoons wobble around during their first season, until they find their footing, the thing that works and how often later seasons are even more different and refined. Not Catdog though, it remained coherent like a laser from the first episode to the last, never changing anything. Its almost admirable in its fierce dedication to being dogshit. I don't know if it was the showrunner phoning in or the managers being so precise and consistent with their shitty demands, but I'd love to know the specifics of it going down, how could you make such an utterly charmless, boring and bleak cartoon. Look at Rocket Power from the same era. Despite being klaskyshit and the most hamfisted X-treme Kool Sportz 90s shit, it still manages to have some soul, have some artistic core somewhere, have some likable or memorable characters and even deliver a handful of entertainment. It was not good, but atleast it bled out on the ground actively trying out things, trying to adapt to demands.

copied the flood episode of baby looney tunes and flooded my grandmas big bathroom with the sinks, bidet and tub for no reason when i was 4 or 5 because i thought it would be fun. When i regretted it after thinking about it more i tried to have no one enter that room but confessed, dramatically, that there was a huge flood. I had the bidet spraying so hard it fucked up and stained the ceiling and had the water going through everything for hours to make a deep flood on the floor.

Do you have a preference for episode length?I like the 11 minute format. 7 is okay for sillier cartoons, but 22 minutes just doesn't work for me.
>>150323096Shorter episodes work better for comedies so jokes don’t get old. Longer episodes make sense for story or action focused cartoons because they need the extra time. It depends on the show but 11 minutes to 22 minutes should be standard. I’m fine with some episodes going on a few minutes longer. I’m not a fan of 40+ minute episodes like Invincible since I don’t have a lot of free time. I don’t like spending close to an hour watching something that’s supposed to be short form entertainment. I know streaming allows for episodes to be longer than on cable but it’s not something I prefer

Trey Parker and Matt Stone were forced to attend a mandatory meeting with the Ellisons and Comedy Central executives Thursday evening, with it explicitly told to them that attendance was required "...or else". Trey and Matt were basically torn a new asshole and had to take it in silence, something that hasn't happened to them since the 201 incident. And Comedy Central's top executives had to stay quiet and watch this happen too, since they got their own chewing out a day earlier for not putting a stop to Trey and Matt's bullshit Trump/Conservative bashing. And yes, the Ellisons did tell Trey and Matt that Charlie Kirk's death was their fault and that they are going to pay penance for it. After this private castration, the Comedy Central executives basically told Trey and Matt that they are no longer allowed to make fun of Trump and conservative figures like Charlie Kirk. They were told to come up with some plot device (like the first three episodes being a bad drug trip Randy was on) to erase the the first three episodes from canon and resume production of the show in the vein of the "funnier earlier seasons". IF they did so, the first three episodes will be allowed to stay up on streaming and see release on DVD (as Trey and Matt are big pushers for the show being available on home video and keeping the banned episodes available that way). And that Comedy Central will extend the hiatus to give them time to make new episodes if needed.

Short storytime. I encountered this last and binged through it. Hit the shallow itch of pokemon but le mature and thought it was deserving enough of more attention then it had.
