I'll start off. I actually like Ultimate FF. And I prefer the dynamic to the mainline book. I recognise that the stories themselves aren't better, but I think the core setup of a bunch of young adult supergeniuses with superpowers going on weird science adventures works for me far more than the kitschy sitcom family setup of the mainline F4. Especially with things like Franklin muddying the waters. Ultimate FF made everyone an expert in some field and had this feeling of basically being a modernised Star Trek starring people with superpowers. Again, the stories themselves cannot measure up to the classic main FF runs, but as a basis, the concept itself, I vastly prefer it. There was more excitement. They were younger, hotter, cooler. I could easily buy them as celebs. They were young enough to be unpredictable, but old enough to not be annoying teen geniuses. The book was essentially a cross between Star Trek, X-Files and dunno, something like Stargate. There was a playful element to it that you just can't have when you're dealing with a middle aged family. So yeah. I actually like Ultimate FF and think with some reworking the core concept works better than the mainline version. That's my extremely /co/ntroversial take. And Hell, I like Doom being a descendant of Dracula more than him being some random gyppo. The goat legs and mutation suck, but the backstory was a great update. I don't know, I think generally UltFF had all the right ingredients, but fucked up in the actual execution.
I don't think you're wrong in liking Ultimate FF but this isn't your blog, anon. What do you want people to say about it? It's not even that hot a take considering how many people like the Maker.
>>152160640Agreed
>>152160640>Ultimate FF made everyone an expert in some field and had this feeling of basically being a modernised Star Trek starring people with superpowers.I kinda dislike this. I feel like Sue being a medic would be better than a biologist.
>>152160654>but this isn't your blog, anon.Nigger, what do you think an imageboard is? I understand that your zoomniggers are used to TiKTok or whatever else, but back in the day of forums people would make threads to talk about things. >What do you want people to say about it?Agree, disagree, call me a fag, talk about UltFF, what they think FF should be, dunno, things related to the OP. Are you dense?>>152160655Thanks.>>152160978Eh, medic falls under supergenius biologist. It's comic books, everyone's an omniscientist to some extent. I get your point though. But I liked the idea of them being a thinktank. I guess Johnny was still a tard and Ben a meathead instead of an astronaut, but you get the point.

I'm at Doom Patrol issue 38 and what the fuck is going on. It was always absurd but the transvestite street and Rhea popping out like this lost me.
>>152159834This is such a fucking cool character design holy shit Grant Morrison is a genius when he's doing drugs.I loved the guys that could only speak following an acronym
>>152159914Oh yeah that was in the chapter right before this and they were amazing. >crane's on their head hold up their eyeballs like wrecking balls >factories on their shoulder >point guns at people but they dont actually hold anything >the shadows of the crane and factory on their shoulders make the gun that shoots people Like what in the fuck how. There's tons of other details and they come together somehow. The Doom Patrol were drawn do cool in this chapter for no reason too. I wish the Brotherhood of Dada didnt die at the end of their story they had some of my favourite designs
I wish these got toys. Aliens and Toxic Avenger got toys come onI dont know how Grant can top Rhea's design after this but I'm sure there will be cool shit.
>>152159834It got too repetitive for me.Too many bad guys with different objects for heads and hands, too many characters that spoke in an odd pattern, and too many end of the world scenarios. You were conditioned to expect the weird, so it got old eventually.Richard Case was not up to the task as far as the art goes.
>>152160628Yeah it kind if felt like the painting that ate paris when Robotman saved Crazy Jane it kind of ended the character shit that I liked so much and went for pure absurdism. So far. Hopefully there's something to like in what I haven't read yet. I'm at the one where they go to mesh space and it feels like all exposition dumping so far.

Fact: You can proportionate how truly popular and beloved comics are by basing it on how much people fixate on Marvel and DC A proper "top 10 comics of all time" list should feature at least ONE cape comic

>>152151981I ironically like her style. Have you ever felt a real fur coat? My grandpa bought my grandma one long ago, and that feel beats the shit out of plastic crap today. Keeps you warm too. Also 6 weeks of Aunt May's wheatcakes everyday will do her some good.
>>152159929>Have you ever felt a real fur coat?Of course. I own many. Fuck faux.
>>152155128Not that anon, but Cruella was really only in 101 Dalmatian Street for like a couple episodes as the show was a lot more of a slice-of-life thing and her... great-great nephew or whatever he was, Hunter, was more of the recurring villain of the show. Cruella herself was a pretty late reveal, and her introduction to the show was basically to be spooky and evil, and extra fucked since she's probably pushing 101 at this point since it's THE Cruella from the original Dalmatian movies, released from jail and wanting revenge on Pongo and Perdita's bloodline. Notably, the show goes out of its way to state that she plans on skinning all the dogs out in international waters so she can just dump their carcasses into the ocean. The show itself... it's fun. Definitely different from anything else in the franchise since it's about the Dalmatians living alone with no owners in some house. The parents work as a firefighter dog and one of those hospital support dogs, so the kids (varying in age) all just kinda do their own shit, while Dolly and Dylan end up almost being the "parents" since they're the oldest, and they're pretty affectionate sometimes which leads to a lot of people shipping the two.I kinda like how the show handles them being dogs and getting away with not having owners sometimes, like using delivery and ride share apps to get what they need without revealing there's no humans living in the house.Still sucks we never got more about Hunter though, since the show's just like "oh yeah, this kid can understand dogs for some reason" and never elaborates on it, then he later thinks he legit IS a dog due to being crammed in a shipping container for like a year and treated like a dog which then the show never got renewed, so we don't know what happened with that.Would be funny if the show had him flirt with dogs but I doubt they'd risk a plot like that.
>>152158640>>152158648>Why does Hollywood cast good actors?!?
Sorry, folks! Sounds like no She-hulk for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars as Tatiana Maslany mocks all the recent rumors!!!The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star responded to recent Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors with a heavy dose of sarcasm and mockery while appearing on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast.Maslany poked fun at reports suggesting she was cut from Deadpool & Wolverine and refused to return for Avengers: Doomsday due to a supposed falling out with Disney.“I feel an article coming. It’s out there. I already got dragged,” she joked. “He didn’t like the two scenes that I did, so he fired me, and then I got litigious. I took Disney to court and Ryan Reynolds.”When podcast host Scott Aukerman teased that she’d be returning for Avengers: Doomsday, Maslany ran with it, fueling the flames with more satire.“Nope. Disney has approached me to play She-Hulk again. Guys, I said no. Because I just did. This is the facts,” Maslany said. “They’re out there. You can read the articles about it. I was really mad at them for kicking me out of the movie. I was just mad. I’m woke. It’s woke feminist stuff. I was like, ‘How dare you cast a woman in this role? That’s disgusting.'”She added with a laugh: “They really wanted me to be in Doomsday, Avengers-style, or whatever. I turned them down. I’m confirming it here.”
Yeah, I'm sure they really wanted her back when the show flopped.
