Go-Bots doesn't get enough credit for being one of Hanna Barbera's best cartoons of the 80s. Once you get beyond the stigma that it's a "Transformers Ripoff" (which it was never intended to be, both shows were developed independently based on different pre-existing toylines) the animation is fluid, the art direction is fantastic, the writing is entertaining and exciting, and the voicework is superb.

Then an hour or so of roaming aorund on rock planet while Boulder's guys temm them stories about where rock Lords came from etc. Then at the end the Go-Bots repair themselves and kind of god mode through the evil rock Lords camp and save everything in about 15 minutes. Most of the movie is Guardians just sort of walking around a boring rock planet, and occasional scenes of evil punk Rock guy laughing to himself that he has a new magic scepter thingy.

But the making villains ugly is an old comic thing, a throwback to 60s era comics. When heroes had to be perfect square jawed Adonises while villains were usually twisted ugly guys, mutants, or at least not conventionally handsome there had to be some kind of flaw like Lex Luthor being bald.

>>152163857Yeah Golden's table was mostly his work on Hasbro licensed properties at Marvel and offering to draw Rogue portraits badly (too many comic book artists have trouble drawing faces large, and only Rogue waifufaggots like me care about her original BEM look). He didn't care much for the way Marvel editorial worked as far as consistency or communication was concerned but again he came from a far stricter/more reliable world. Really nice guy though.
