I haven't read too many. They weren't really a thing here when I was a kid, my friend had some Tintin books but his parents were European immigrants.I kind of see them as mostly having good art but not a whole lot going on story wise but that might be because most of my exposure to them was through Heavy Metal magazine. As an adult I have some I like though, I have a few Tintins and the first book of Roxanna and the Time Bird which was really good, I want to read the rest but they're long out of print.

I like that the people making these comics still maintain a passion for the artform and try to make something entertaining that doesn't just waste your time. Still, it seems rare even among Europeans. As others have said, a lot of European comics feel like something is missing. Maybe that's the American glutton in me speaking.

There aren't really any good answers. Pick your poison between terrible standard definition crunchiness and terrible up-scaling that smudges out any line definition. I think the last time I watched it was a some fanmade pirate upscale to 720p which was somewhat tolerable but definitely not good.
