Honestly I like that the final cut of the movie left it more ambiguous as to whether his parents were as horrible to him as he thought or if it was purely his own pride and ambition that did him in; if not a combination of both. Surprisingly nuanced.

First off, I totally agree with nuking the song from orbit. My singing is the kind of thing they'd play on repeat in Abu Ghraib.
