Mods are out for Christmas. Post bad bitches.
>>151900770I don't even think she can assume a human form like Sandman can.
So which evil girl would you take on a date and what would you do? I think Hela would like going on a nice picnic at a graveyard
>>151900770Huh. I mean law of averages means someone could also get those powers. Also:>Lady Octopus>Ana Kravinoff>Francine Electro>QuicksandWe just need a girl Mysterio and a girl Vulture of the original Sinister Six. I nominate Maguire Beck (Quentin’s cousin) to take up the mantle

Loliyana
Why don't writers know what to even do with her anymore? For quite some years she's basically just been 'woman' and portrayed as being over her head with everything going on.
>>151873812I love Catwoman but I dropped her book during howard's abysmal run (and then comics in general shortly after). Modern capeshit is like modern WoW lore. Just pathetically bad.
>>151901360>Letting one bad writer in one genre turn you off an entire mediumSounds like a you problem.
they're scared of pushing her as a true counterpart to Batman, a woman who pushes herself to the limit to do Robin Hood shit. much safer to go with boring Wonder Woman or bpd Harley, so they hand her off to tumblristas who give her a completely new cast and boyfriend that dies before the run is up, quite conveniently.

Honestly, I'm really impressed with this movie in some ways I can't begin to possibly describe nor imagine. It's like a Disney version of Rankin Bass's animated movies from earlier before.Even when lighthearted in its feel, the tone, mood, and story of this is unusually dark for a kids movie. Especially a Disney one, at that. Like, REALLY dark. But with 2/3 of the rest of the movie, the atmosphere gets ousted by the pacing, suspense, and characterization. All of which is just a complete slog.Still, in some ways, I'm honestly really impressed by the visual and subtle detail. Like how the majority of the VAs were mainly British English. It really helped played to the movie's strengths with staying authentic as much as possible. Really seemed like a far cry, also, with how Dark Souls would use proper English/British VAs in their cast when localizing. In all respects, though, I would honestly say that this is my favorite pre-00s movie in Disney. And that's saying something because I really fucking hate Disney. What did you guys think of it?
>>151901513I loved this movie when I was 5. It was the first Disney movie I watched, before the classics or the renaissance
>>151901513I haven't seen it yet
>>151901513It was mid
>>151901513>In all respects, though, I would honestly say that this is my favorite pre-00s movie in Disney. And that's saying something because I really fucking hate Disney.Do you think, maybe, the reason you liked it but it didn't really pull in an audience at the time is that it didn't feel like a Disney movie? I think there's something to like, audience expected something they didn't get it thus they fucking hate it even if the thing is actually good outside of that context.
>>151901513Eilonwy was my first cartoon crush. Her voice was so captivating to younger me. I think this movie is what started my desire to be some cute girl's knight. Sadly, nowadays that's just seen as being a simp.

Is Spider-Man more fun to read than Batman?
>>151902183Not since 2007, certainly.
>>151903930To be fair neither the Batman or Tec ongoings have been good since like 2009
>>151903984There have still been more good Batman stories since 2007 than good Spider-Man stories in the same time period.
>>151903324And that's a good thing
>>151902183>>151903289>>151903930Kind of agree. I really like Spider-Man back in the 90's and early 00's, particularly the Ultimate Spider-Man, but more recent Spider-Man stories don't seem quite as interesting while I think Batman has pretty solid recent stories. Back in the early 00's I would've said Spider-Man, a few years ago Batman, but right now I don't think either is particularly good.
/co/ opinion on The Eternaut? Sci-fi Story about a group of friends surviving in Buenos Aires after a mysterious deadly snow that kills on contact falls on the city.
>>151895754I think it looks interesting
>>151895754Pretty cool until the UFO ending/ Time travel bit....seems like they couldn't figure out a better ending
>>151897176There's a saying: "Good things come to those who wait." Perhaps it was for the best. Nowaday's technology, not only more advanced but also more accessible, made the adaptation of El Eternauta to the screen possible. There's a video by Ayer Nomas where he explains the multiple reasons behind it delay, and the attempts thwarted in the process. To sum it up, there are two main reasons: the Oesterhelds did not agree with any proposal and, perhaps by chance or fate, the conditions were never the right ones to produce a film adaptation.https://youtu.be/W4rlLbbvwKo?si=aEG4nSiqagZPzMpV
>>151895754Personally, I divide the story of The Eternaut into two parts: the first, about survival in an apocalyptic world due to mysterious causes, and the second, about war against alien invaders. I prefer the first part, seeing how a family and their friends have to find ways to survive in a world where death literally falls from the sky and, to make matters worse, the other survivors fight over scarce resources. I appreciate that there aren't any stupid characters who endanger everyone else; everyone (except the two children) is a responsible adult who thinks before acting, but even so, every action carries an unavoidable mortal risk. The charm of the story disappears in the second part. Furthermore, the mystery vanishes completely. Oh, wow, it's an alien invasion! Oh, look, those are the aliens! Shoot them! Bang, bang, bang! Boom! Time travel!I wish the entire first season of the Netflix series had focused on Juan Salvo, his family, and friends' struggle for survival in the world of the deadly snowstorm. It should have maintained the 'spirit' of the first two episodes. The revelation of the alien invasion could have been left for the season finale, as a cliffhanger.

>>151902661With the exception of Elle, the films practically beat you over the head with the fact that everyone felt the same way as Beatrix, and all Elle got for going against the grain was living a life Bill expected for someone else.
>>151900922>Just like Michael Jackson was murdered.Michael Jackson wasn't murdered. He's not even dead. He faked his death and is living on some island he bought so that he can do "Neverland for real" and get away from "all the bad people" so that he can be "12 forever".
>>151902737He was talking about the Superman comics he read as a kid, that simple and rough golden age style. Accurate description.
>>151895281Well Tarantino thinks he's a good actor so it's obvious he's not always right.
