How would (You) fix Spawn as a concept?
>>152155597Go full horror with a thin superhero veneer. His hellskin/symbiote looks like that because he grew up on superhero stuff and the costume mutated into that look and feeds into his hero ideology pushing him to become more and more monsterous corrupting him till he becomes a real hellspawn. He's fighting a losing battle and the suit dangles "eating evil people to give himself more life and time on earth" in front of him. Al Simmons is not a good man. Not on any level but the idea of being good despite being objectively a bad person is a failing that many evil people have. But he does play into the ego trip of being a hero and falls hard many places. Make it so that the costume messes with his memories so he doesn't fully realize who he was and that he's not some hero who was betrayed by dark forces.
>>152156096I don't like Al being a cop instead of a soldier. The analog of him being in soldier in life and being so recognized makes him a good candidate for a soldier in hell's army works too well. A cop just isn't the same, maybe swat is close. Plus him using weapons instead of his powers because he's ultimately still a jarhead and naturally handles ammo better than magic is a cool angle. Especially if his powers are limited or traceable with his I think it was the Spawn cartoon where at one point it's recognized that Spawn is using Al's tactics and it's a cool bit of storytelling.

Spawn's concept is just something "cool" for Todd to make toys of

Euhghh who the hell would draw themselves like that? Draw yourself normal or way better. Leave the ugliness in the past. Having a bad self image, even if its honest or some other delusional bullshit, is proven to fill you with deadly poison.
>>152160904>or way betterThat's way worse.
Marvel editors push back on shit getting swept under the rug. Meanwhile DC's constant reboots and shitty editorial mean nobody ever pays for their crimes.>Green Arrow has murdered a couple people over the years, sometimes in cold blood, and is still a Justice League member.>Red Hood murdered hundreds of people, but is welcome to lunch with the batfamily>Cheshire nuked a middle-eastern terrorist state to set up a ransom demand. She was tried for crimes against humanity, but now she's allowed to chill with the heroes.>Deathstroke and the Brotherhood of Evil nuked an AMERICAN city to ash. Nobody cares. They're just allowed to exist in the world.>Black Adam murdered millions of people across dozens of countries, then joined the Justice League, somehow. Why is DC so shit with this?
>>152158898Zero Hour, Infinite, & Final Crisis aren't reboots. That's my point. Crisis on Infinite Earths & Flashpoint are the actual reboots. It's that simple.

They are the best couple ever! Marvel always tries to destroy her, but she always comes back! this is a place for you to express your love for them together, not falsely claim she is a cheating whore.
>>152111603I love mj and pete together. If I ever by met nick lowe on the street...
Comic spiderman has been completely ruined and dangling the carrot of "PETER AND MJ WILL GET BACK TOGETHER" and cheap rage bait has killed any and all interest and care for a character that was at one point the face of not only marvel but comics in general.Marvel failed miserably in their stewardship of the character.
>>152159656Careful bro, don't go spider-manifesto on him. The last thing we need is another 4chan schizo scapegoat and a comics pro martyr. Holy fuck I don't want the reality of a comics pro becoming a household name due to something like that. Let them wither away in obscurity just like they are doing now. This infamous era of post-gamergate culture will continue for a while longer but doing shit like beating up people is asinine and short-sighted. Sure Spider-Man's entire status quo under OMD will be remembered for a while and the hatred will fester for a while, but we just need to snatch it right at the moment they grow to be the most degen and depraved forms of themselves. Anyway, anytime I see ANV is when I get violently anxious and sick because of She-VenoMJ not being a reality and/or vehemently encouraged by comics fandom as something that would be tight as hell. Yandere or otherwise.
>>152154165>And where’s Carnage in all this? Even when you find out – you STILL won’t believe it!This line falls flat after them spoiling that they're doing Spider-Carnage again
>>152159252Kelly has said he doesn’t want to write MJ in both because Marvel has plans do her arc and doesn’t want to step in toes and because he believes she’s just Peter’s side girl that only exists to show up and cause problems

>>152156062It seemed like they started out with teen Jean learning how she was dead in the present, and acting out in an attempt to change the course of her life, leading to her abusing her powers in ways that were getting increasingly villainous, plus that future team of evil X-Men where the female Xorn was an evil teen Jean who'd never gone back in time. But it was mostly Bendis, so it never really amounted to anything and just fizzled out without any payoff beyond every writer that followed him continuing to write teen Jean like that, and it even carrying over to adult Jean when she was resurrected. All because of a heel turn plot Bendis started and just gave up on part way through.

I'll start off. I actually like Ultimate FF. And I prefer the dynamic to the mainline book. I recognise that the stories themselves aren't better, but I think the core setup of a bunch of young adult supergeniuses with superpowers going on weird science adventures works for me far more than the kitschy sitcom family setup of the mainline F4. Especially with things like Franklin muddying the waters. Ultimate FF made everyone an expert in some field and had this feeling of basically being a modernised Star Trek starring people with superpowers. Again, the stories themselves cannot measure up to the classic main FF runs, but as a basis, the concept itself, I vastly prefer it. There was more excitement. They were younger, hotter, cooler. I could easily buy them as celebs. They were young enough to be unpredictable, but old enough to not be annoying teen geniuses. The book was essentially a cross between Star Trek, X-Files and dunno, something like Stargate. There was a playful element to it that you just can't have when you're dealing with a middle aged family. So yeah. I actually like Ultimate FF and think with some reworking the core concept works better than the mainline version. That's my extremely /co/ntroversial take. And Hell, I like Doom being a descendant of Dracula more than him being some random gyppo. The goat legs and mutation suck, but the backstory was a great update. I don't know, I think generally UltFF had all the right ingredients, but fucked up in the actual execution.
I don't think you're wrong in liking Ultimate FF but this isn't your blog, anon. What do you want people to say about it? It's not even that hot a take considering how many people like the Maker.
>>152160640Agreed
>>152160640>Ultimate FF made everyone an expert in some field and had this feeling of basically being a modernised Star Trek starring people with superpowers.I kinda dislike this. I feel like Sue being a medic would be better than a biologist.
