Merry Christmas editionprevious >>151774971here, we discuss Homestuck and Homestuck accessoriesread the comic here: https://homestuck.com/yeah that's it
>>151821403Good god muh dick
>>151822205i think one half of the descriptor of the Land configurations are most definitely dependant on aspect (both Jade and Kanaya had land of X and Frogs since they were both space players as a more identical example, while Dave and Aradia for instance had different descriptors while still having a connection to Time), and the other half i think is just a visual/thematic design choice to give the planet a sense of uniqueness as well as leaving it kind of up to the reader to come with their own unique ideas for Lands even with a limited number of aspects
>>151822270Looking at charts like this will always affirm how good the character writing of Homestuck is. The reader gets an instant overdose of characterization as soon as they look deeper into the text.
>>151822297i also love the little detail of Nepeta's Land acronym being LOLCAT
>>151822256GOOD LORD WHAT A BODY!
What did they mean by this?
>>151821672Those kids see eldritch horrors for breakfast. Seeing mommy getting dicked wouldn't be that impactful to them.
>>151820952If things were really desperate. Like if Esther, Abaddon, and Ben somehow sent the family's one car to hell in trying to turn it into a demon magic car. Then yeah I don't think she'd have much of a choice. She'd probably double triple make whoever is filming promise not to put it online or put her name anywhere in the credits, but knowing the family's luck odds are it will end up anyway. Or maybe they'd blur her face by her demand for the "free version" and that's what Ben finds and gets obsessed with. Unknowingly blowing it to his mom. At least until he caves and buys the uncensored version and never recovers.
>>151821726she and/or probably the idiot dad clearly DID raise them that way, given how even rough and tumble little Esther was bothered..>>151821808ahaha cute.man it just now occurred to me I wonder if 5318008 was a post on any board ever..
>>151821451>you realize your behavior would be seen as somewhat lenient and overly kind on /ic/.Yes. I'm not trying to be an asshole, only spreading a little tough love. I am extremely sick of the amount of low-quality diarrhea we're drowning in here. You need to chill with this phony praise, too. Don't you get fed up with lying to people?
>>151822318At least save those kind of posts for shitty artists who are shitty people as well. We got some who deserve those words and that one anon here isn't one of them.

I have only recently begun reading superhero comics. For webcomics and regular graphic novels (or even some of the smaller superhero runs), there is just a singular story to stick to. I've been finding it hard to think about how people absorb these giant legacies. With alternate universes like Ultimate or Absolute, it's easy to jump in since that's not the same character, but what about the main timelines, the 616s etc? Do you only read a run that interests you, or do you try to keep up with the whole history for characters you like? Do you create stopping points for yourself to better catch up to things? Or do you try to read as much as possible? I'm really curious how people think around bad runs or mischaracterizations etcSo far, I've been enjoying myself reading early Claremont X-Men, but I don't know if I should stop at 1991, reading through other series from the time period instead, or give the future a chance. Haven't been through a moment where everything gets reset to an old status quo yet. I've also heard that DC fans might have a different perspective as well, that they're more likely to skip the team ups or events than others. Is that true?
>>151821269The stopping point is when you stop liking it. Just take things as they come, read it for the moment to the moment story telling and quit being a hyper fixating retard who wants to rush to an ending before he's even started. Just read the fucking comic. If you don't like the comic stop reading it and read something else. This isn't hard.
>>151821445But anon, I'm asking about how you feel. Do you care for big events at all or do you tend to avoid them? What are your preferences when it comes to what to read next? Reading has been great and brought me a sense of peace, but I'm curious if people tend to bounce around a bit or if they stay along for the entire ride.
>>151821566I just bounce around, honestly I'm old enough to remember picking up a random issue and having no idea what was going on so it's not that big a deal to me. I will feel like reading 80s Avengers so I'll just go read it. It kind of gives me a broad scope of what has happened in the universe even if there are holes in what I've read
>>151821269I try to only read good comics. I stick to widely recommended stuff, or stuff that has a small but dedicated following, or something a venerated creator is attached to when it comes to superhero runs. Even with this, more than half of what I've ended up reading has been trash. I never liked following characters, either.I hated early Claremont-Men. Didn't start liking it until Paul Smith.
You can really feel how audiences have shifted towards animation lately when pic related, an experimental adult mini-series featuring some of TV's most prominent animators, gets basically zero discussion from the animation community.
>>151820320Sometimes things are said a lot because people agree with it not because they are trying to reinforce it
>
I'm extremely fatigued from all the animation styles shown here.I'm tired of the CN regulars, even with the strongest being Remus and Kiki's, I felt the character design and writing held them back. This concept is really good but isn't refined. Everyone seems to be going for some larger scope which is kneecapped by each segment being capped to around 6-7 minutes long.
>>151822240>Selling your big ol' animation hoopla with pictures of these chucklefucks.I do not like their era. I do not like it a awful lot.

She loves to do crimes and cause trouble but deep down yearns to be loved.>Was the movie good?It was a serviceable excuse to have Nimona on screen.
>>151821905Guess it's one of those movies where the main girl is the thing you're there for and not much else. Thanks for the break down anon.

>>151796966The problem with Bane is that he was originally designed to parallel the Doc Savage facet of Batman (Bane's original name was Doc Toxic), namely the "superman" who is as equally strong as he is bright. You can't turn Bane into a villain you can pull out of the drawer every other month because his character was designed with a specific story arc in mind. Using Bane means using him sparingly but also with intent. Bane's first appearance had him use his wits and intellect to break Batman (releasing criminals from Arkham to overwhelm him, then cripple a weakened Batman). If you're going to use Bane, he needs to actually develop as a supervillain and also be a source of conflict that builds on "breaking the Bat". If Bane broke Batman physically, there's no reason he can't try to break his mind, his connections with others, his reputation, or his mission to fight crime. Bane should work his way up Maslow's hierarchy of Needs in parallel to him shattering Batman's hierarchy of needs.
>>151819119Bane is like Doomsday if Doomsday was also a forced meme.

Just got back from the theater to see David with my family. Real talk it was a good movie. I’d give it a solid 7.5 out of 10, better than any animated Disney film I’ve seen since Encanto. It’s less Jewish or Christian propaganda and more just the story of David as a boy up until becoming king with an emphasis on how David trusts in God. It had funny parts that made people in the theater laugh and it had parts with a sense of danger. It was much better than I thought it was going to be.
>>151821112He’s boasting and talking trash then gets interrupted by getting bonked in the head with a rock and falls on his face, it was pretty funny and very PG. David doesn’t chop his head off.
>>151820937I'll be the judge. I'm still skeptical, but I'm always on the lookout for more Bible adaptations so I think I'll give it a chance.
The reason people make these kinds of movies is that they have a built in audience who will be uncritical and want the film to succeed even if it doesn't hold up, and I've seen nothing to suggest that isn't the case with David.
There should be an adult animated series about David's entire life. His rise, his reign, his sin, his fall, his reconciliation. It would be kino. Just adapt both books of Samuel.

>>151821363Thanks for the link. It's still bugs me. All 65 episodes are up on Amazon for download but nobody has ripped those sources. The show also plays on Boomerang but nobody figured to record from there for some reason.

It happened to me today when I discussed childhood shows with my younger cousins and they said they grew up with Total Drama and I was like "HOLY CRAP REALLY??" complimenting them on knowing good shows and all when they suddenly started talking about some of their favorite episodes and suddenly mentioned pre-schooler crap. Apparently they grew up on the pre-schooler version of the show that aired in 2018 called "Total Drama Rama" while the original show aired in 2007. I am what the kids these days call an "unc".
