Season finale tonight in less than 2 hours, and seasons 2 and 3 have been greenlit. One things for certain, Joe Cappa did a heck of a job raising this first season.

You ever think about the fact the Foundation probably makes most of its money by selling pizza?
>>151844841Powerscaling is just a different kind of article-style fiction, which means the problem is a lack of self-awareness as much as rigor.
>>151844912>They contain it. Simple as.Obviously? But that's where the story starts. What do they classify it as? What do they discover about it? When it inevitably breaches containment, how and why and what are the consequences for it and others? The approach to crossover storytelling you describe is indistinguishable from power level wank anyway. No one actually likes watching the writer pretend to be an impartial judge when it's all imagination anyway.
>>151845786>The approach to crossover storytelling you describe is indistinguishable from power level wank anyway. That's all crossovers boil down to in the end. It invariably devolves into kindergarten playground "Who would beat who in a fight?" wankery. Crossovers are an inherently shit concept.

>be Zootopia>create massive growth in the number of furries>be Zootopia 2>sequel now employs many people who likely became furries because of the first movie >increased paw shots, Nick and Judy’s asses are thicker, Gazelle’s hips are wider, Pawbert is wearing underwear under his pants and has a big butt himselfWas all this part of Disney's master's plan?

I want the neon gang from those dumb Schumacher Batman films to be a canon gang in mainline Gotham. Sometimes its just nice to have a weird in-between of organized crime and Arkham weirdos.
there's a non zero chance Joe Quinones has em on his drawing board or sketchbook rn
Similar idea, The Party Animals from the Absolute Universe being a group of anarchist "do the fuck whatever" chaotic faction in mainline Gotham with no loyalties to anyone
After 25 years, Spongebob, which used to be one of if not the biggest IPs of the 2000s, is now bombing hard. Spongebob has not stood the test of time and confirmed itself as a Gen Z only phenomena. It is now a legacy IP whose relevance will continue to decline hard until it is like Hanna-Barbera characters who followed the same trend as it. As Gen Z grows away from it everyone else will know it exists but that is the extent of knowledge they have for the IP. That is its legacy, a flash in the pan.

Ratings/box office doesn't matter. It's the merchandise what's keeping it alive.
How do you design Asians which are recognizable as Asian without risking being accused of racism?See, this is Keiko from Midnight Patrol. I didn't actually know she was a Jappy until I heard her name.

>>151846581I mean Korra still had an Avatar state post-S2, it was just weaker than Aang's (but easier to control). But yeah ideally the next Avatar will bring back the past lives, it was lame that LoK wrote them out. You could make a whole show just revolving around reconnecting with them.
>>151846668Perhaps Pavi can only do it in certain locations associated with a past avatar. She can’t say channel Kyoshi at will but rather she can only do it on Kyoshi Island.
>>151846735Yeah you could have an episodic structure where each episode revolves around a different Avatar spirit, each spirit is tied to a different location and Pavi has to perform some sort of special task (related to their past life) each time to assuage them and reconnect with them. Then in the background you have an ongoing larger arc related to the modern-day characters and the villain faction trying to track them down.Issue with this structure however is the sheer number of Avatars. Over 10,000 years, even being generous and giving each Avatar 100 years, that's still 100 Avatars. At some point there would have to be some kind of plot device that allows Pavi to reconnect with a bunch of Avatars at once. Or having her reconnect with them off-screen. And it would be hard for the formula to not get repetitive, and for each Avatar to feel unique.
>>151846581The concept of seven havens is cools but you just know they will focus on 2 havens at best while the rest of them get ignored.
>>151846831They wrote themselves into a corner with the Harmonic Convergence. I could, however, see it as this process could occur over the next several avatars. The next fire avatar for example would already have Korra and Pavi by default but then their circumstances requires them to reach out to past fire avatars, like Szeto.

Its so crazy that actual magic is a known phenomena in marvel/dc but no ordinary citizens decide to just become wizards. Like I get people's potential to use it varies but it from what we've seen anyone who dedicates themselves can do it, like it should be a course in colleges. Batman should learn magic, Spider-man should learn magic, pretty much everybody should but there are like 10 magic users in the whole world at a time.
>>151839238Presumably they do but suck at it. Hobbyist level magic is like hobbyist level martial arts, nobody is going to care after they breach the peak human barrier.
>>151839238This actually came up in a recent Moon Knight issue. Some random traumatized guy who survived an attack from Wrecker got so fed up with the status quo he learned necromancy to weaponize ghosts for his revenge. See the reason why its not commonplace is due to several factors:>Weeding out what is and isn't "fact" when researching spells. Lot of forgery >Isn't cheap. Tomes are rare, and the skill is knowledge that is intentionally kept as a trade secret among competitors>You need to have the right mind for it. Magic doesn't make sense. Sometimes you got to solve a puzzle when reading basic instructions, assuming you translated or even pronounced words correctly. Timing, both in phrasing and when the spell is done, is also a factor at times.
>>151839238Because if you fuck it up in Marvel you will be subject to horrors worse then you can possibly imagine and places worse then any form of hell.

True story, like seven years ago my younger brother got me a Deep Impact DVD for Christmas because we both loved H*R and we had a good laugh about it. Then, the next year, he actually forgot he did that so he gave me ANOTHER Deep Impact DVD because he thought he hadn't done the joke before.
