>The "eat the tariffs" demand from Trump even came with acknowledging the record profits these corporations were making after covid under Biden.
(They did not eat the tariffs. In fact, eating the tariffs was illegal for them and would've gotten them sued by Blackrock, which they can afford even less than eating the tariffs.)

>it was as much "fuck da police" as it was pro 2A
That's why I think anyone who hates cops while also wanting to give the government and police more control over people are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. You can't be against cops while also relying on the police to be your only protection against criminals.
It also why I don't take feminists seriously. Feminists should be the biggest gun nuts on the planet because the only way a woman could ever effectively protect herself from violent men is if she has a guy. But Feminists also tend to be the same type of retards that want to disarm every, including vulnerable women.
It makes not sense and it's irks me.

*is if she has a gun
Schizo autocorrect changed gun to guy for some reason. Never understood why autocorrect will sometimes take a correctly spelt word and just fucking change it to another word.
>>
>>150189076
Yeah letting vigilantes gun down illegals with impunity would be better than ICE.

>Go on a binge of watching 90's cartoons
>Every single series includes episodes focussed upon women gaining weight, transforming into a werewolf or bipedal reptile woman, growing a cat tail and ears and behaving like a pet, being petrified or being mind controlled and suddenly having a dominatrix outfit out of nowhere.

How did they fool everybody? like no shit kids would have had this fly over their heads but its so common and so blatant -often from the same small number of writers getting most of the work it seems- that people had to know what was going on here.

Being fat used to be a joke. Then 75% of America became fat (owed mostly to the Squatemalans and spic invaders all being morbidly obese) so now if you joke about that shit you get protesters.

But it is dude, feet and inflation/weight gain are notorious. They are not always done for fetish reasons, but depending on the context, way is presented and/or if it is done frequently there is reason for suspicion.

You know, it's pretty weird to think a bunch of OCs from a short lived cartoon SEGA was never going to canonise kept being used in a comic book for nearly 25 years, a comic that in turn pretty much only ended because a former writer sued over the copyright of other OCs. Really bizarre, right? Had Archie been better at making people sign contracts and/or keeping them, maybe characters like Sally Acorn would still be around and SEGA would still refuse to use them in any games.
>>
>>150188867
Hindsight is a real bitch in this specific case. You could maybe make an argument for SatAM characters working with the Genesis-era Sonic world, but they were completely incompatible with a post-Dreamcast Sonic world. Trying to make them fit in the reboot didn't help at all.
>>
>>150188867
Actually Archie ended the contract. Sega was fine with how the reboot was going and was willing to renew the license but the Archie CEO wanted to focus on their own IPs and Riverdale was making them a lot of money. Worlds Unite did more damage than Penders did.
>>
>>150188996
That is fact sure, but the reboot wasn't doing the holdovers from preboot any favors. The game cast felt so isolated from everything else.

What happened was that this guy here racked up a giant licensing bill for all the Sega/Capcom characters in Worlds Unite, then fled to DC and left the rest of Archie to pay it off. Cutting the Sonic and Mega Man comics in favor of going all-in on Riverdale was the only option left to break even.

Finally got the new graphic novel!

I had to get it physically because there's no ebook version for some reason.

It's hard to think about this as an example of this phenomena these days, but it's Spider-Man.

In an era where superheros were either nigh-immortal like Superman, uber-rich like Batman, or just didn't address money for the most part like the Flash, Peter Parker was different in that he actually had to regularly worry about his human responsibilities like rent, food, school, and taking care of his aunt.

You can tell it was a successful subversion given how pretty much every comic followed suit since then.

>Imagine damage controlling censorship in comic books this hard
The market was killed by the code. Publishers went out of business cause of the code. DC and Marvel/timely used the code to put their competitors out of business. That's also why Conan the Barbarian got a pass despite breaking the code.
>>
>>150188716
People stocking the shelves shouldn't have put that book alongside the funny cartoon characters, brought it on themselves. Movies and television weren't allowed to depict the things those comics did, why did they think they could get a pass?

You message reminded me that in the 80's (if I remember the period correctly) an FF story had a premise similar to civili war: USA goverment wanted all super humans and mutants registered bu this time not only Reed was against the law, but It stopped some of the big wigs by buildeding a machine that reveals who is a mutant and, after having hinted that some of the politicians might be mutants whose powers have not yet awakened, they archived the law for fear to lose future elections and being framed as muties.

Beyond Cleo, there are the spawn of Loki-
- Jormungandr, the world serpent
- Fenrir, the sun-swallowing wolf
- Hel, lady of the dead and wielder of the Sunna Blade
- The Fae Queen, ruler of the fair folk
- Fear Dorcha, an elder god who corrrupted a previous fae queen
- Pele, Hawaiian goddess of volcanism
- various dragons, giants and outer beings slain over the course of her long life

Is there any art of Hel? I went through a mythology phase back in highschool and she was one of the figures I'd draw a lot, so I have a bit of an attachment to her.

Here's a basic doodle on the far right, I'll see if I can track down something more professional. The basic idea is that she has an asymmetrical costume and a hair flip that mostly obscures her "dead" half, and she also wields the Sunna Blade favoring that half because, you know, dangerous sun sword.

this is what she sounds like, the reason she can fight so well is because she grew up watching maury and jerry springer in the late 90's because she couldn't afford cable.

>>

How so? The biggest differences were probably Eugene and Tulip. I have no real opinion on Eugene - his character was never something that stuck out in the comics aside from his face (and he got a much bigger role in the show). Tulip was fairly different though I think they improved the character - she was a wet blanket in the comics.
Cassidy was spot fucking on. They couldn't have cast him better. Jessie was pretty close, albeit a touch more tormented. Herr Starr was pretty accurate. Most of the characters I can think of off the top of my head matched the comic books pretty faithfully with maybe a few liberties taken here or there to make things work a bit better for television.

I can sort of get the idea of casting him in some wanna be meta slop as a joke to laugh at him as even in his prime with those rumors it was an awful casting idea, but the fact they're continuing with this role is concerning.

I wonder if this is a generational disconnect because it seems obvious to me that Gambit is styled after the slimmer early to mid 30s aged action star ala a Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and we're in an era where action star means either John Wick or Tom Holland
>>
>>150188750
>You don't even get pity sex
who wants pity sex?
have you no shame?
>>
I know Gambit's main feature is that he's hot, but Channing named the personality, the voice, the attitude, and even the athletic. Some people want a hot dude who doesn't give a shit about the character instead.
Like, I've seen "female comic fans" saying that he didn't look the part, but wanted a black guy to play him.

>>150188743
>he's not a young twink
You've be surprised by the amount of "Marvel fans" who think otherwise. They can't really acknowledge that Gambit is around early 30s and acts like a man his age. Same problem as Spiderman happens with most of the X-Men who are already in their 30 or about to. Rogue's close to 30 too and she acts like a teen: "hey, I know I'm married and I somehow should be with my husband, but I rather ditch him to go to Cyclops and still being an X-Man cuz that's all I know". She acts like how Cyclops acted when he was 25 and abandoned his wife and kid. At least Cyclops' excuse was that he was young.

If usurping the biggest book in the DC lineup to make something that everyone hates doesn't get him fired, nothing will. The only question is if this book's complete failure will humble him or make him double down on stupid decisions.

Isn't it interesting how, for the last 20 years, Daredevil runs have followed the same on-and-off trajectory?
>first a star writer comes along and writes a modern cult classic run that gets everyone talking about the character and people who haven't read anything pre-Miller start memeing about "no bad runs"
>followed by a no-name writer who writes a mediocre run that no one reads or talks about

Bendis and Brubaker -> Diggle
Waid -> Soule
Zdarsky -> Ahmed

That means the next DD run (whenever that happens) is going to be great again
