How come so many people who were outside of Dora's age demographic at the very least knew the show existed? With shows like Oswald and Boobah, most beyond the age of 5 didn't know they existed, but as long as one watched Nickelodeon, they knew Dora existed even if they didn't watch it as they were too old for it. I know this for a fact because there were many who thought most preschool shows were interactive a la Dora and Blue's Clues.

They constantly self-insert, and are often more concerned with passing a message they subscribe to or are expected to rather than giving a good experience to the audience... so in the end, it's like they're making the whole thing thinking only about themselves.This happens in comics, movies, cartoons, series, games, you name it. I'd say it is more common in indie stuff since those are often less business-focused and more of a personal project, but it happens in both big and small projects.
