Why did Gaiman insist Herakles has never been to the underworld? Whatever happened to "All stories are true" and whatnot?
>>151768498do wonder what Gaiman's Thor would have been like since he did want to write his return after Ragnarok

>>151771936This.100 times this!Fucking goof had this romanticized version of comics that really never existed.
>>151771936He's histories greatest monster!
>>151771936>>151771965>>151771978I like some of Darwyn Cooke's work and how he generally treated other people in the biz. But yeah how he described Balent's art/design is kinda lame and reeked of Dorkin-2010's nerd type liberal sensibilities. At least Arkham Knight and Arkham City took that type of design and made their women stupid hot. But Cooke's design for it fits Batman and I am ok if she isn't mega sexy all the time.

EVE WEIGHT GAIN CONFIRMED
>>151770193>new super hero animation that doesn't reuse a character for the gorillonth time.>>151770250>I’d take another Spider-Man or Batman show over subversive slop and cuckoldry. As bad as some say the Invincible comic is, you have to admit that Invincible only has ONE animated series adaptation. Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and TMNT, however, all had close to a dozen animated show reboots since they first appeared in comics. Not necessarily a bad thing, but a sign that their IP holders are willing to use newer shows as part a reboot cycle similar to certain toy brands (Transformers, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcut) in order to keep those characters relevant for obvious reasons: money. After a while, however, it's annoying seeing DC/Marvel/TMNT toss out previous animated shows' plots by starting over from scratch, redo origin stories once again, and go over similar story beats once again. I'm not saying Superman or Spider-Man needs one definitive, long-running animated series that MOSTLY sticks to a particular run from the comics similar to manga-based anime. However, the constant reboot cycle does kinda make those characters feel kinda stale after the umpteenth show reboot, especially if the newer shows suck compared to earlier ones (Batman: Caped Crusader vs Batman: TAS). It's as bad as seeing umpteenth remakes of A Star Is Born.
>>151771567*Strawberry ShortcakeTo add, the DCAU did at least have a little bit of continuity across different DC shows from that era. Granted, certain characters (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Lux Luthor, The Joker, Darkseid) had already been used in Super Friends several years earlier, which kinda segued from set of shows to the next with a bit of continuity.
>>151771567>>151771877But it’s bad, and has Kirkman’s stench all over it.

Why didn't they invent comics in ye olden times?
>>151770441Most comedy was theatrical through performers. Nobility had personal court jesters and everyone else had street performers through fairs and holidays. Visual hand drawn artwork was mainly religious and historical rather than used for comedic purposes at the time. There were some painters who would paint things entirely from the lens and intention of curating a fantasy but these were mainly done to portray and convey emotion and idealism rather than tell stories, mock, or make caricatures. Comics, and more specifically comic books as a medium is uniquely modern due to the higher literacy rates of modern people compared to antiquity. For most of human history, the capacity to both read and write was a skill only taught to spheres of society that required it as a function for their work. Writing in itself was also a much more time consuming activity due to the technological limitations of the past, as every single aspect of it was preformed by hand, you were limited in how long you could do it and where due to reliance on candle light after sundown, and ink needed time to dry.
>>151771040Also as these anons pointed out, >>151770480>>151770509mass producing comic books would be an expensive logistical impossibility before the invention of the printing press.

You'd think /co/ would talk about this German IP all the time, because it's cute and wholesome and /co/ really likes wholesomeness, family friendly media and traditional values. And yet, I never see it mentioned. There are books, a show and a movie. The movie has very different designs.
