Luca Turin is like the Sheldon Brown of fragrance. He had some worthwhile things to say but he vastly outstayed his welcome and usually you can spot someone who doesn't know what he's talking about because he's citing Luca Turin as an authority
another compliment for my sotddior sauvage edt
>>18245914i personally like sauvage edt but women never have said anything. even have a couple of backup 200mL bottles i bought years ago because i really liked it and thought they might reformulateaventus, which i cant even smell on myself constantly surprises me with women saying something. i'll forget i even put it on cuz i can't smell it and then some chick says i smell good or asks what i'm wearing
Thinking of blind buying Bois Imperial
>>18245918It’s dirt cheap to start with, they have a travel spray that’s (I’m assuming) even cheaper, then a discovery set on top of that for like ~$20. Go for it.
imagine unironically being a eugene acolyte
Fragrances you don't really like but somehow can't stop spraying? Pic very much related. It's spicy, smokey and green but the green aspect is very airy and piercing - almost chlorine like. Smells like opening a can of spicy soda in a public toilet.
Still worth buying in 2024?
>>18245940Only EDP or Parfum

Thoughts on Cedrat Boise?I'm tempted to blind buy it.All the (((YouTubers))) say it's one of the best fragrances available and the vibe online seems to generally line up, but I've seen a few different people say it smells like an ashtray. The price is good at around £70 for 120ml on Notino right now so it wouldn't be an enormous loss, but I'd rather get some more opinions first.
EuroCHAD here, do you have a good dupe site? I want to blindbuy several bottles to test without paying €200 for a perfume
>>18245951Oh no. I don't want women to be reminded of rapey shitskins when they smell me. They truly ruin everything.
>>18245961It's great, imo the Intense smell better
>>18245961>Cedrat Boise
>>18245951
>>18245961I have it and I wouldn't recommend it. It's average imo. They say the intense version is better, but I haven't smelled that one. Aventus or Montblanc Explorer are much nicer imo.
>>18245966Don't worry. The shitskins me as a brown also despise wear Oud-rose, sweet bombs, oriental-flowery stuff.Aquatic, fresh, soapy is your way to smell competent.
>>18245973I already have CDNIM and Montblanc Explorer and use them as my daily wear, so I was worried about Cedrat Boise being kind of redundant.
>>18245980I would really recommend buying a sample of Cedrat Boise first, because it definitely isn't a safe blind buy imo.
Recommend me some non-expensive fragrances that would impress me. I like Prada L'Homme Intense and Chanel Allure Homme EDT from everything I've tried the most

>>18246027What if I'm attractive but I don't fuck?
>>18245980CB Intense is way better than Explorer and it performs great. I can't stand Explorer honestly, it smells like minerals and applesauce.

>>18245911Turin is very entertaining if you read him as a very opinionated and even somewhat overly dramatic writer with his own idiosyncrasies, but it genuinely annoys the hell out of me when people try to dress up his opinions as facts. One man is one man.

Creed is the only brand that commands respect. Wearing Creed will open doors for you and get you places.
>>18246011It smells messy and vile to me. I honestly think that Cedrat Boise has to use some aromachemicals that smell very different to different people, because I literally can’t find the positive descriptions people attribute to it with my nose, and I know I’m not alone. Don't know anything about perfumes and I just borrowed (stole) a bottle of Invictus from my dad. Is this a good one? Can't really tell the difference between this and his other ones. >>18246318etsy is pretty shit. they'll refund your money but they don't really penalize sellers for constantly trying to rip people off and creating hassles for them. and they don't even have a mandatory shipping deadline like ebay so if you're buying a gift for someone's birthday the seller can just sit around for 2 weeks before shipping and ruin it. they also delete alot of negative reviews for sellers and don't allow you to filters reviews by rating so you gotta scroll through hundreds of reviews to find the negative ones.
>>18246045I smelled Centaurus and Delphinus at the mall and Centaurus was the more interesting one because it smelled like a newer DNA whereas the Delphinus was essentially Himalaya with a twist. (unless they gave me the wrong sample which might be possible.)

This autumn has really raised my respect towards Guerlain’s L’Instant. It gives you that nice Guerlain evolutionary experience where the scent stays interesting for its whole lifespan unlike newer releases from the house (for example, Homme is nice, but it really doesn’t evolve), but it also feels modern enough that it is super easy to pull off unlike classic Guerlains. It’s also really unique on top of that.

>>18247038If it's similar to Axe Alaska then it's probably the only scent you need. Heard that Silver Marble is a niche take on that legendary DNA. Still waiting for my sample.
>>18247125The Parfumo community doesn’t vote it as a gourmand, but I could see the argument being made. I like it as well, but I also like most sweet gourmands, where as /frag/ in general typically loathes them. >>18247088>>18247123It’s good, but it’s basically just another generic vanilla scent. >>18247046It’s a good one. It feels like a more modern Guerlain heritage or a less gay Dior homo original. Something in between those two. Which reminds me I haven’t worn it in a while.
>>18247386If you can get it for that price the Parfum is slightly better, but the Intense is also a really good choice. Eau des Baux is another well liked choice that’s more subtle.
>>18246718Kinda yea. It's definitely a fougere because as soon as you spray it you can smell the lavender (+raspberry) notes and the sandalwood/moss base. On top of that it adds a bunch of brighter spice notes to accentuate the raspberry and give it some depth and interest.

>>18248448Lool that's pretty funny desu. I am a fan of mainly vintage, only masculine though.Sotd: Kouros Tattoo
>>18247762>fragrantica is a jokeIt's OK, like RYM but for perfume. At least the descriptions and comments somewhat reflect the consumer experience. Parfumo is just a bunch of circle jerking German weirdos churning out incoherent word salad driven by peer pressure. Often I'm left wondering whether the respective reviewer actually tested a fragrance or they're just stacking up comments and reviews for their own sake.
I use fragrantica and basenotes both. Fragrantica has a really strong fragrance database. Basenotes has good forums. It is this place that is useless.
What's a good fragrance for Mormons?
Best citrus woody other than Eau de Rochas?
>>18248497Eau SauvagePour MonsieurGuerlain Vetiver
>>18248501Anything more casual?
>>18248516>Anything more casual?the same frags but with you being more casual?
>>18248057>>18248158It’s interesting that he suggested Murkwood, Funerie (also by Pineward) actually came to mind myself.
>>18248516most acqua di parmas are beautiful imo
>>18248567Agree, intensa is a bit too astringent and linear, despite being very nice. I hear essenza is more soapy which is what I'm not looking for.I'm on a construction site so I don't want to smell perfumy, just pleasant woody citrus.
should i get cherry punk extrait or edp?
>>18248588(Nta) Haven’t tried Intensa but Essenza is in fact quite soapy once it starts to dry down. Have you tried DHS2021?
>>18248253based
Anyone try this one? I kind of want to try this since I don't have a leather fragrance. I'm also interested in Lavalliere and Tuxedo, and maybe Babycat but I'm not even sure what that one is. Anyone here have experience with the YSL L Vestiaire collection?
>>18248501I don't know if either the EdT or the Parfum of Vetiver is woodsy.
>>18248614Yeah it's ok, smells a bit synthetic though, not masculine enough for my tastes.
>>18248347is that Ultra Male? I've smelled the original Le Male, the Le Male Le Beau, and the Le Male Le Parfum and I like them all but have never, knowingly, smelled Ultra male.
>>18248641You seem to really like smelling the male
>>18248030Gross
>>18248638HmmmGuerlain Vetiver as >>18248501 said, but TdH EdT or Eau Givree would also probably work.
>>18248635itès been a while since i checked out their product line, but Cuir And Tuxedo were the most interesting ones. i also like Caban and Trench from the line, but the two previous ones were more noteworthy. there were also the Edition Couture ones that i really enjoyed. honestly all 3 were great.
>>18248641It is ultra male. Everyone likes to meme on it but it actually mogs like 90 percent of the frags mentioned here
>>18248355You’re the “high iq poster” and here’s the kicker, you’re a retarded nigger
>>18248321Maceration is definitely real
Is it any good?
>>18248693The original Eau Sauvage may have been a masterpiece prior to ingredient bans and reformulations (I wouldn’t know, I never got to try it), but the modern thing essentially smells like lemon pledge and lasts 30-60 minutes before disappearing. The Parfum (2017 edition) keeps the opening and extends it a touch and then actually expands on the base a little. So to directly answer your question - Good, yes. Great, no. Personally I enjoyed the Eau Sauvage Extrême (2010) much more.
>>18248659I think I'm going to try the vetiver. TDH EDT smells a bit too sour for me. I heard good things about Eau Givree, how does it compare to the fraiche?
>>18248706Tres Fraiche is really soapy and floral to my nose, which isn’t my thing. It’s kind of hard to compare the Givree to the Fraiche, but comparing the Givree to the original it’s a little more tart on the opening, then you start to get those warm balsamic notes from the juniper which I loved. If you liked the Tres Fraiche and not the original EdT, I don’t think you’ll like Eau Givree, but doesn’t hurt to try it first hand.
>>18248717Thanks for the info friend. Much appreciated.
>>18248588>essenzaI would have like it to have some pachouli or something ambery to round it off a bit with just a touch of sweetness. Or labdanum to give it a hint of leather to the soapyness.
Is there a way to prevent my armpits from smelling like trash without using deodorant? Should I shave my armpits?
There's no way any of this slop is worth the asking price, only time I ever got any was as a gift or purchased on the clearance rack or dollar aisle. Why not just make some yourself
>>18248635Babycat is the best, as I enjoy sweeter scents. You may find some appel in Tuxedo because it's people's favorite. Price point gets all the idiots away so that's a good thing if you want to be original.
>>18248770Wipe them down with a witch hazel soaked paper towel every day

I actually like the "pinkish" note in Joop. It's probably achieved by orange blossom and heliotrope, who knows.Anything similar without the sickeningly sweetness? Little sweetness is fine.
