I have a lot of these and never wear most of them. The Jean Paul in the top left is probably the best and one I wear the most. Sauvage and Versace kind of just sit there and I don't bother with them. You should get some Paco Rabanne.

it's a good Tuscan Leather clone. you can tell it's good because it's not even all that cheap nowadays

it's alright, but I found it overrated. it's too heavy on the citrus for my taste, I think fragrances like New York Intense and Pour Monsieur EDP do this profile in a more balanced way. it also has little of the freshness and lightness of the EDT, so I wouldn't wear it in the heat

Oud is either medicinal or fecal, whoever says otherwise is coping, the art is blending it with other stuff so it smells like strong humid dark woods, which very few can like Cavallier.

People notice, we're always talking about shit
It doesn't matter if it's liquid, solid, brown or white
They ask if I can only talk about anal sex
But there's no other way, I'm the ass-fucking man
Then you don't have to loosen it up first, you can just push it in (Yeah)
Kathrin screamed in pain (Ahh), I liked it
I learned that you can push a hand in and then clench it (Uh)
I experimented (Yeah), Kathrin was shocked
She didn't know that the black dildo vibrates too (Psss)
Her ass bled and I came
Since that day I've been singing the ass-fucking song and it goes:

You answered yourself, they are known for being massive scent rapists.
Cool Water was for a reason the master of male perfumery until Coty got to it and made it Aspen Blue, Davidoff in general to be fair, Good Life was also well known.
I had the real Obsession and damn, lasted beyond the 12-hour mark, not my style due to the notorious nutmeg and patchouli combo but it was notable. Belcam/Walmart makes an excellent dupe of it, same performance although not the same complexity in the top notes, drydown is basically the same.

I've now been to 4-5 different stores in the past few weeks and in every one of the the CDNIM bottle has been empty. 2 of the stores carried other stuff from the CDN line and those were all empty as well. The only testers in the entire store that were empty lol
>>
I noticed that the sales assistants at the store will generally leave you alone when you're trying to sample cheap stuff but once you get too close to the Tom Fords or the Amouages, they become very nervous and don't appreciate you spraying the paper strips yourself
>>
>>18312665
My sephora started gluing the testers to a pull cord type thing so they can basically leave the frag shelf unattended since none of the testers can nigger off. It's nice being able to freely magdump TF and Kilian as much as I want
>>
>>18312665
Because people like me never buy fragrance, every time I go out I go to a department store or wherever they sell cologne and I just sniff all the tester bottles until I find one I like, and then spray myself with it 10+ times and leave.
>>
Naxosbros, we can't stop winning
https://youtu.be/YVlkEecuZzI?t=495
>>
>>18312672
I don't see people buying fragrances in store anymore. Cash registers are always empty. People just come to sample and then order online.
>>
>>18312665
So many people say that assistants will fuck off if you politely tell them you’re fine, and in a few cases that’s been true for me, but so much more often they hover, pester, and mean mug like you wouldn’t believe, it’s really annoying. It’s not even like I’m black or look shifty.

Back in September I went to a mall to try and get a sample of Eros Energy, middle aged attendant woman said they were all out of decant vials which I know was a load of shit, walked over to Sephora to see if they had it which they didn’t, but as I was walking out I turned around and asked if they had any decant vials and the girl behind the counter happily said yes and offered me one.

Went back to the previous store and filled it up with Eros Energy, and while doing so the attendant came over and I smiled and said how the girl at Sephora was kind enough to offer me a decant vial. Was sooo satisfying to smile at her and spray away while she just gave that curt “I don’t like this but can’t stop you” bullshit smile and walk away.

Made sure to thank her again on my way out. Bitch.
>>
>>18312688
Minor anecdote, I’ve found asking about things they don’t know exist, or asking for something they don’t carry (for example Guerlain in the US) seems to put them a bit off their game and they leave me alone.

My local Nordstroms has little cups filled with 1.5ml decant atomizers for customers to make samples and take with them, assuming you’re not a fucking sperg it’s totally normal.

Going into a Sephora/Macy’s/etc. they’re always with the fragrance attendants behind the counter, but it’s part of their job to make samples for customers if they’re ask.
>>
Do people really open YouTube links with literally zero prompt or information from the poster?

>>
>>18312637
Nowadays people buy frags to please others, the art of smelling like you want to and feel comfy is lost, only Kouros anons, oldfags who buy the same two or three bottles for the last 30 years and some who buy after reading the notes are the real men here.

>>18312686
Every time i checked retail in these last few months people are buying a lot, and most of them come to the attendants with their phones and some TikTok about some obscure frag or the most mainstream stuff you can get.
Somehow Valentino is selling a fuck load despite the shitty reformulations, Sauvage sells itself and most girls go directly to Daisy and its flankers.

>>18312688
Assistants are my buddies or i made them my acquaintances so they either ask me how's the day or sell me testers under the water.
Only the old ladies are tough but like anon said >>18312695 asking about obscure or very precise shit is enough to repel them, like wanting to check Lord Aramis, King Kouros or Krazy Krizia/Bogart Group.

Flash reviews:

Guerlain L'homme ideal parfum: bitter almond and leather. Not a raw and earthy leather like ombre leather, but rather an exquisitely elegant and smooth kind of leather. Disappointing longevity.
Oud minerale: already reviewed but I just wanted to say that I did around 15 sprays on the sleeve of my coat 3 WEEKS AGO and its sillage is till enormous, it's unbelievable
>>
Gourmands are the thinking man's genre. Nothing is as appealing to the brain as the scent of sweet foods and from an evolutionary perspective, there's no reason to chose synthetic leather or wood accords over caramel and vanilla.

Very dirty, smells like a small harbour in a cloudy day, adjacent to algae-colonized reefs. One used by poor fishermen. But without the smell of fish. No citruces or flowers to lighten the scent, it's pretty uncompromising.

Anyone here tried Lattafa Khalid and Masa?
At this point I'm not even interested in consooming any more bottles but I feel oddly drawn to these, especially Khalid. I really like leathery/smoky frags like Interlude, incense malaki etc. and think that this one might be right up my alley.
Also, I may have tried ganymede (sample from a shady source, can't vouch for authenticity) and think it's cool but too pricey to get locally.

Hiram Green, I dont like all their fragnances (although Hyde is fantastic and unusual, with literal tar in it) but they go out of their way to only use "natural" ingredients. That is the most obvious.

"Premium" ingredients needs to be something sourced naturally because synthetics are pretty much the same regardless of what lab makes them even if it is good synthetics.

Oh, commes des garcon also have premium ingredients. Sometimes synthetics but they must use some advanced techniques.

Tried today
Boss Bottled Parfum
Boss Bottled Elixir
Boss Bottled Absolu

Boss Bottled Parfum was nice, a bit generic but a much more mature scent than the others, it's spicy, leathery and fresh. It's generic and unique at the same time, odd but good. It smells like something from the 90s or what my dad would wear

Boss Bottled Elixir was a little weird, for me it smells like a pantry full of old spices especially cinnamon in the opening then mellows down into a fresh-cinnamon scent. Boss fragrances have this cucumbery smell to me, this one had a little bit of that in the background

Boss Bottled Absolu I was curious about after hearing so many people raving about it, it smelled mostly like honey to me. It's better than other sweet designer fragrances like the ones from JPG or whatever but still mostly just smelled sweet to me. To my girlfriend it smelled like cough drops

You can “magdump” it and it will still only last 30 minutes if you’re lucky. Doesn’t matter how good a fragrance is when it has that (poor) longevity.

>>18313599
You don’t know Beaufort London if you think it’s their lamest creation, and I say this as a big fan of their (Iron Duke personal fave).

Absent Presence is easily their worst creation, Vi Et Armis is arguably their most challenging, and Lignum Vitae is wildly outside their wheelhouse and just doesn’t fit the house.

I’d agree T&M is a bit redundant (to my nose) with Rake and Ruin (or vice versa) but it hardly qualifies as “Garbage noise and the house's lamest creation”

This isn’t a skill issue, it’s a logic issue on your part. If you’re going to carry something around, you take what you’re wearing for the day to refresh with, not an entirely different scent.
I’m not even going to touch the fact you’re suggesting layering.

There definitely -should- be a revision to the charts (Bulgari Black, one of the opening 10 of the flow chart, has been discontinued for a number of years at this point), it’s just about putting in the (quality) work to actually do it.

I have no personal knowledge regarding the Anon who made them, but I have no doubt it was simply a passion project that took a lot of time and effort, and there was no reward beyond the personal satisfaction of having done it. That said, I understand why it hasn’t been updated, too much work with nothing much to show for it.

>>
>>18313664
>You don’t know Beaufort London if you think it’s their lamest creation
I have yet to sample the new collection but otherwise, It IS their lamest creation.
I have tried everything from the first two collections and own (and love) full bottles of tonnerre and R&R. In fact, I'm currently wearing T&M as I still have a bit juice left in the sample I got a couple months ago.
There is absolutely nothing in common between rake and terror and you'd have to be a complete noselet to call them 'redundant'.
Terror is just fucking bad, it smells like spa oils, has no kick and lacks the bassy, 3 dimensional nature of all the other beauforts.
I agree that Armis is incredibly filthy and offputting but I can still respect it. And Lignum and AP really feel out of place for the house but still, they are genuinely better fragrances that, even with a completely different theme, have that signature beaufort composition whereas terror feels flat and boring.
Also, the garbage noise comment was for the shitty "musik" posted which these imbeciles are spamming the thread with

4711 is based. Was cool to see their shop in koln too. Next time I’m in Germany I’ll get a bottle. I was spray it on me when I visit DM. That or tabac edc. As far as good edcs go I have guerlain imperiale and it’s the best. Guerlain eau de guerlain has good performance for a somewhat traditional edc. Alvarez Gomez is a nice cheapie too. But 4711 is very nice. I use my edc out the shower, when visiting friends, and in summer before going to the beach and stuff like that.
>>
>>18313846
You do you man, not gonna insult your taste or call you a noselet, but RR has more negative reviews than TM on Basenotes, Fragrantica, and Parfumo. Doesn’t mean that either one is bad, but it is an objective fact you can choose to ignore or not.

And you can call it reductionist, that’s fine, but they’re both smoky peppery bombs with other minor nuances, hence why I say they’re redundant. (Just like Tonnerre is a smoke bomb with an aquatic nuance)
>>
We should have a clone flowchart
>>
>>18313883
>RR has more negative reviews than TM on Basenotes, Fragrantica, and Parfumo
Yeah, and pulp fiction is one of the highest rated movies on IMDB, yet it's absolute dogshit.
I have a nose of my own to judge scents with and literally do not care who "rates" what "higher". Especially considering that the vast majority of reviews on fragrantica are borderline retarded, histrionic noise from complete tastelets and Parfumo is basically a platform for creative writing exercises with very little relevance to fragrances.

>reductionist
That's an understatement, following your logic I could call the vast majority of fragrances redundant - in fact, I could call all fragrances ultimately redundant and become one of the 'You don't need more' shitposters but that's just low effort and lame.
But even more so, I'd say it's wrong on multiple levels. Most importantly because T&M is NOT a bomb of any sort (my major problem with it), though I can certainly agree it's a smoky peppery fragrance. And also, I would say that with R&R the juniper/angelica accords are arguably the centerpiece rather than the smoke (though there's plenty of it).

I really don't get Aventus. Is it supposed to smell better on skin? It smells like shit on testing paper when I try it at the malls.
>>
>>18314158
I tried a sample once and I didn't like it. It's the only frag I've ever smelled that I didn't like. Most are good, some are excellent, but Aventus was just bad. I'd never buy a creed frag anyway, i don't like how their history is fake and the owners seem like scum.

I have mixed feelings about Eau des Baux. It’s the only thing I’ve ever blind bought at retail price. Can’t find anyone that decants it and no local retailers have the fragrances available to test.

It’s not bad, very professional but it’s a bit muted for my tastes, so I almost never reach for it, basically the winter version of something “light”.

I’ve mentioned it previously, but I basically only wear it for interviews.

What's the point of wearing perfume when you're obese? Sure it might smell nice, but people are still going to be disgusted when they look at you, and there's no masking that, and the disgust overwhelms the pleasantness of smelling a nice perfume.

But she can't get him to walk down the street with her, because very few people want to be embarrassed like that. Back when I had started going out with girls one of the first girls I took out on a date was a fatty and all I could think about was how embarrassing it was to be walking around the city with her. I felt like I could do better. I kept seeing her just for sex, and because every second I'm spending time with a woman I feel like I'm winning at life, but man, I will never forget the embarrassment I felt from being with her in public.

That's the fragrance world dupe of Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler. It's excellent.

For an actual designer I would [highly] recommend
Mustache EdP which has a wonder thin caramel line with the white florals. It's nice and clean; it's very light so you may need to spray extra, but it smells like YSL Tuxedo so overspray is not a problem.

I think the problem isnt its too much worrk per se, but rather reaching a consensus on replacements/directions. For example, replacing Bvlgari Black isnt that hard and clearly theres anons with the drive to fix the chart, its just that they dont know what to put in its place.

But adding a marine branch to the flowchart and 101 chart? Yeah huge undertaking, ill admit that.
>>
>>18313914
I own all three bottles. EdT is excellent spring summer fall. EdP is excellent fall winter spring. Herbes Vives works all year round.
>>
>>18314306
Yes. Likely carnation + cumin. If you want to get this note in high effect, get a sample of Cartier Declaration. Due to the amount of cumin it may smell like lamb marinade.
Habit Rouge EdP does not have this issue where the cumin is lowered so that the effect becomes carnation+lemon. The scent goes into a leather base instead.
>>
>>18314502
Im heavily tempted to get the EdT as well because I want something for the spring/summer thats not the usual citrus/neroli that everyone and their grandfather does.

Hard part is finding what i want, Greenies like H24 seem good but i was wondering if theres any good marine/green combos

Much easier to find the men's - unisex section.
I think you're vaguely describing the acqua di gio line (and cool water obviously):
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Giorgio-Armani/Acqua-di-Gio-Profondo-59532.html

Kenzo Marine:
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Kenzo/Kenzo-Homme-Marine-80042.html

Paradise Garden:
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Jean-Paul-Gaultier/Le-Beau-Paradise-Garden-88836.html

For a higher end i'd probably recommend 40 knots:
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Xerjoff/40-Knots-16445.html

I own AdGio and it's very versatile. Kenzo Marine is Watery+Green+Coconut Creme+Florals.
The only other Watery+Green-ish I have is Hot Cologne by Mugler (discontinued) and it needs to macerate for 3 weeks after opening, but you get a Watery + Green Coffee note that smells exactly like fresh cut grass under the sun.

People will just think it is a bit decadent to go around smelling powdery and floral. If you are a man smelling like that and you carry it with some confidence then they will just change what they think about such smells. I remember when I smelled perfume that Napoleon supposedly wore and it was surprisingly feminine although at the time it was described as the smell of war. It is very cultural and it can be changed by certain people if they carry themselves in a certain way. Among arabs wearing perfume is considered a masculine thing regardless of smell (due to religious reasons). Similar to smoking tobacco or wearing trousers in the west during the 1800s. It is very culturally dependent.
