Why does this thread hate bittercel so much? He is unironically the best poster we have ever had. Here's my reasons:

bittercel is always brutally honest. He is like water, he will find a crack in your watch and pour in from there. He is the criticism we need. You never get that in watchuseek or reddit, you only get an echo chamber of “nice watch, wear it in good health, champ” bullshit. Not with bittercel, he does not care for your feelings which is why he will tell you the truth. Yes, your watch is too big for you, yes it’s a shitter, yes the lugs look like shit, yes the movement is crap. You, as a critically thinking individual, should embrace this.

We are all protected by anonymity here which is the point of this site. Avatarfags are pathetic going against this. Take reversocel for example; he couldn’t handle a bit of heat from bittercel and immediately fucked off to r/watches as soon as someone wasn’t sucking his cock over his shitters and pens lmfao.

Yes, bittercel may seem bitter at first, but he is the counter force to all this circle-jerking in here. He is harsh but fair. You hold the fact he never posts a watch against him, but that is merely him not taking a side. He is not a brain-dead fanboy to brands (other than Rolex, but Rolex is Rolex). This way he maintains his unbiased position.

And the best part of bittercel? He is always there for you, right here, in this thread.

Don't be so harsh on bittercel. Imagine his pain, even the avatards are with their families and spouses while this place gets abandoned for just a few days. He is all alone here, with no option but to samefag through the holidays. It has to be the starkest reminder to him.

I got to check out the new Planet Ocean at my local Omega boutique.
My thoughts based on handling it.

>Good
It wears smaller than 42mm. It feels like a 40mm watch. The thinness is appreciated. Overall, though, it’s still heavy.
The bezel is extremely precise with zero backplay. The black bezel version looks best because the colored bezels look plasticky and make the dial aperture look tiny.
The bracelet is so-so. The edges aren’t super-sharp and the taper is appreciated, but the links are still very thick and the clasp is huge. The clasp feels almost as thick as the watch itself and it’s long.
The polished center links were already marred on a watch that had been out of its packaging for a few hours.

Ignoring whether you like the look, it’s well-made. The revised version that will come with n a few years should be great.

Even with 12 footwear options I am still not a shoe collector or even a shoe enthusiast. Why do redditors insist on calling 3 watches a "collection" and why does having a mere interest in some product specs have to make you an "enthusiast"?
Why does it have to be a part of your identity?

Your grandfathers wore 31-34mm watches when they fought ww2 and they'd punch you in the mouth if you implied they weren't men.

The watches that summeted Mt Everest in the famous story were 33mm. Nothing you're doing calls for a bigger watch than that.

After a while you realize the "watch community" is filled with tasteless retards who dress like manchildren or slobs and yet still think their opinions about a FASHION ACCESSORY is valuable.
The most interesting opinions about watches don't come from watchnerds, but from people who have a primary interest in clothings, designs or arts. Because they immediately see watches as things that compliment your outfit and match your overall aesthetic.
Watchnerds on the other hand are fascinated by grotesque shitters like picrel and jerk off about "muh finishing" because they don't even think about watches as wearable accessories. They can only enjoy the "performative" aspect of horology.
>>
>>18596392
because most people obssess over watches a long time before getting a 3 luxury watches collection.

Considering the prices, having 3 luxury watches is closer to having 3 boats than 3 t shirts.

Is it autistic to build your entire collection with the same kind of watches, just with different dials? Divers and chunky gmt’s, most aviation watches don’t do it for me and all I like are sport + casual/gada watches. Aqua Terra’s, Monta Nobles, Sinn 556, Formex Essence, CW 63, HA Havstrom, A&B Fortitude…
All watches that are nearly the same function and style, but it allows me to collect a multitude of different dial style and colours.

Do you realize there is an objective relation between your wrist size and your watch diameter? It’s a golden ratio and your dumb amerimutt voice has no final say on it. You are crashing yourself against a wall.

A watch looks good only when its case is sitting in the middle of your flat wrist space leaving 0,5-1 cm of the strap visible, above and below respectively. It must be nestled in your wrist surface (seen from above) but not cover it all. If your watch case extends beyond the lines of your arm width (again, as if seen from above and drawn flat) it’s gonna look like utter dogshit.

Therefore, in your case, the objective ratio for a 17cm wist, is 35 to 40mm diameter, 35-36 being the dress watch, and 38-40 being the diver/sport watch. End of the story. Go past 40mm, and you’ll look like a mongoloid manchild whose only friends are the reddit users upvoting his posts.

When we’re talking about a 16cm wrist, as in my case, the proportion will be different, so 32-35mm dress watches and 36-38 sport watches. Again, shut your mouth because this is maths and you’re crashing against a concrete wall.

>Exactly. Only fat hold hags wear those tiny little watches.
You also got reading comprehension issues. I said 18-26mm. You call a 32mm watch a ladies watch. It is not. A ladies watch is 24-26mm. A 32mm watch is a men’s watch for men with smaller wrists. Again, end of the story, burger. This has been the rule for over 90 years.
>>
>>18597037
The anon I was talking to suggested all men should wear small watches.
Most men have a wrist size around 7 inches, and should wear 38 at minimum.

The anon you were talking to is me. You have no data to claim most men have 17cm wrists. Men’s wrists range from 15cm to 19cm, so there is NO standard size, you fucking braindead piece of shit. Also it depends by what type of watch it is. Once again, brainlet:

15cm wrist —> 30-32mm dress, 35-36mm sport
16cm wrist —> 32-35mm dress, 36-38mm sport
17cm wrist —> 35-36mm dress, 38-40mm sport
18cm wrist —> 37-38mm dress, 40-41mm sport

It’s maths. If you keep replying you’re shitting turds out of your brain and then out of the fingers you touch your screen with. Fucking subhuman mutt.

I said that because real men are slim, tall and slender. A bodybuilder is not a real man, but a soicuck redditor. A slim man will always look more intelligent, more refined and more self-confident than a musclefat gymcuck. See: Alain Delon, Marcello Mastroianni, Cary Grant, Cillian Murphy, Jude Law, Tony Leung. All slim, handsome men. If your body is built like that, you’ll most probably have a wrist around 16cm. Then, again, YES, 32mm is a PERFECTLY FINE AND CLASSIC size for a gold dress watch. You can go up to 35, maybe 36, but anything beyond that size will look like shit.

Your screenshot says 16,5-18,3 cm, so that is a very wide range. Do not try to twist my words based on that, you stupid shitface. I will destroy you.

This is already bigger than the 16cm wrist of the slender man. If 16,5cm, you’ll probably find 32mm too small, but 34-36 will be perfect. Again, past that your watch will look like dogshit.
>17cm
This is a more structured wrist, so of course you will be able to wear 38mm sport watches. But something above 40mm will still look like batshit. And the dress watch, once again, despite not 32mm, will have to be 35-36mm for sure. Not the horriric gigaturd sizes that current brands offer.
>18cm
Well, here you’ll probably be able to wear 38mm dress watches, because this is a big wrist. The sport watch CAN be 42mm, but anything above that will probably look too big.

So you see you fucking retard, I am not agreeing with you, I am educating you on the different ranges of wrist-watch size proportion. You keep attacking me because I said 32mm and that sounds crazy to your broken ass brain, but you keep failing to understand that some men have smaller wrists, and they are not a minority, especially today that physical labor is reduced to its minimum due to machines.

Nope, a 36mm sport watch can be worn by a man with 15 or also 16 cm wrists. See the old skin-divers (they were usually 36mm and they were for the average man) or even the Longines Legend Diver reissue in 36mm.

Once again, a real man is not a soldier nor a bodybuilderbro, so he’ll have a 16-16,5 cm wrists. Keep trolling, mutt.

It's not about diameter... It's about lug-to-lug distance. If you've got a 16 to 17cm wrist (depending on the exact curvature of your wrist), the BIGGEST lug-to-lug you can fit without coming to edges of your wrist is 47 (speedmaster) or 48 (GMT-Master II). 49 is gonna be sketchy and 50+ is beyond saving.

You are a literal subhuman. You can keep going for eternity, but you will never the change with word tricks the simple fact that a smaller wrist (15, maximum 16 cm) looks good with 32-35mm dress watches and 36-38mm sport watches. When your wrist is average, i.e. 17cm, you still look good with 35-36mm dress watches (not by chance the classic golden size) and 38, maximum 40mm sport watches. Anything above 17cm is a big wrist. Period. You will never change this, you are just resorting to the shallowest and most confused rhetoric only because you’ve been seething for reasons that I don’t know since the very beginning. Keep seething, I guess, brainlet.

I disagree with your first statement, and agree with your corrected statement.
>>
>>18597134
It looks absolutely fine.
The lug-to-lug is well within the wrist width, and a 42mm dive watch has the dial size of a 38mm watch so it's visually not too big at all.

I did not correct anything. You are simply autistic. I said that a real man is a slim man, without fake bodybuilder muscle. A slim man usually has a 16cm wrist. A 16cm wrist looks good with a 36mm sport watch, maximum 38mm. Example n.1: most skin-divers of the past were 36mm and they were for the average man. The average man had a 16cm wrist. Example n.2: the vintage Submariner 38mm was not a “skin-diver”, but in fact a diver, so it was 38mm, and as a consequence was worn by Sean Connery who had a 17cm wrist. Crystal clear. Keep trying retard. You’ll get there.

Just try the watch on, you will see if it looks good. Dial diameter, bezel thickness, proportions, and lug-to-lug distance all contribute massively to how a watch LOOKS on your wrist. Everything you're saying is just cope from someone too afraid to walk into a store and try watches on. Millennials are truly something else.

I absolutely don’t give a shit about your retarded debate on wrist sizes, but a study claiming that the average size is "16.5 - 18.3 cm" is complete bullshit. That’s not an AVERAGE, it’s a RANGE.
An average is calculated by adding up the wrist sizes of all participants and dividing by the number of participants. It can only be a single number.

Example:
>2 whores on picrel
>2 boobs per whore
>[2 boobs + 2 boobs] / 2 whores
>there's an average number of 2 boobs per whore

my rolex AD just offered me a sub date, what do?

The cubitus makes no sense. It's just a square nautilus, and even the nautilus is fucked out but if I wanted that style of watch I'd get the original.
>>
>>18598192
Get your leather on and get ready for whips and chains, bitch.

How does the Grand Seiko spring drive wear on a average wrist (15,5 cm)? Is it better than a 36mm Rolex explorer?
>>
>>18597715
That is quite literally what it is.
>>
>>18598223
iirc they tend to wear a little larger than the typical 36 mm Rolex
>>
>>18598223
Without being “hurr my brand is better than your brand”
The 36mm Oyster case is the most comfortable, best wearing watch ever made. If you think other watches look better or you like their complications or technology, that’s fair, but if you’re going for wearability, the Rolex cannot be beat.
>>
>>18598223
Are you talking about the older 40mm ones or the newest 37mm one?
>>
>>18598229
>without being "hurr durr-
And yet you still brought it up, negating the purpose of saying it.
>>
>>18598232
First time on 4chan, eh? Well, have fun. We’ve been here a while. You’re gonna love it.
>>
>>18598229
It's not even just size and proportions, the design and finish on the bracelet literally feels like silk. Even if they don't have a gorillion hours of hand finishing like watch nerds like to jerk off over with the higher end brands, rolex bracelets are the best in the industry and it's honestly not even close. Even on the datejust and OP where they don't use the nice toolless adjust clasp they still nail it.
>>
>>18598233
You're an oldfag huh? Were you here all summer? Maybe even since last summer?
>>
>>18598235
You feel attacked? No offense was intended. This is not a troll thread.
>>
>>18598234
In terms of sports bracelets, the Oyster is great, but the Jubilee is even more comfortable. I don’t like the shiny look, but in therms of the on-wrist experience, the Jubilee is truly perfection.
>>
>>18598241
Do you have a rolex? If you show me your ill show you mine.
>>
>>18598244
> Do you have a rolex? If you show me your I’ll show you mine.
Yes, a 16570, a 1502, a 116660, and a 16253. I don’t care to see yours though.
>>
>>18597485
She's wearing a 31mm though. Whats with all these women wearing 31m? I don't think it looks great. Alsi layering works better with the 28mm.
>>
>>18598248
>I have this. That and this.
Yea sure you do buddy.

I actually dont have one. I bought my wife a ladydatejust though.
>>
>>18598241
Jubilee is actually what I think of when I think of perfect bracelets. The small links and amazing articulation cannot be beaten, it's soft and you always get a perfect fit. I haven't even seen one of the 7 link 1908 bracelets in person yet but I imagine it's even better.
>>
>>18598257
I don't like the way the jubilee looks though. Nor do I like fluted bezel.
>>
>>18598249
The ATs are 30mm. What's wrong with it? They're still thick so that's a turn off but the diameter looks fine for a woman's wrist. And if she was that concerned with layering bracelets she'd wear a square watch.
>>
>>18598259
I like jubilee with smooth bezel. The fluted bezel is too much, the jubilee is blingy but it's manageable and you get the added comfort so it's worth it.
>>
>>18598260
Lots of women are wearing the 30mm AT and 31 datejust. Its a fad. They're like lemmings.
>>
>>18598264
It's hard to believe a lot of women are wearing 30mm ATs considering they just came put weeks ago. How many could they possibly have sold in that time?

My wife was in the Omega boutique trying a bunch of them on in all different dials and 2 tone configurations and different models and sizes desperately trying to find a watch she liked but inevitably discovered what I already told her - omega just makes thick fat shitters now. She actually wanted to be an omega fan girl and just couldn't do it.
>>
>>18598298
Are you calling me a liar????!
Every girl i know wears a 30mm AT and has a labubu.

Oh I didn't know this. Its not surprisikg consdering the trend of celeb women gravitating towards 31mm rolex. ..

Though jennifer garner has a 28mm ladydatejust. She's very classy

Jennifer Aniston is always wearing her 31mm gold rolex. She likes a larger flashier watch. She wears that all the time

those old ladies are at least 40 pounds overweight and have gargantuan girthy wrists compared to Danielle. cute girls don't want a skeezy old carsalesman rolex. omega is young and fresh. #omegabreedablecuties
>>
I may consider a black bay one if they chose some interesting dial colour options that made them standout as something different than a cope watch for someone that can’t afford a Rolex or omega..

How do you guys limit your watch budget? Every time I look at a watch I think
>wait a minute, for just a few thousand more I could get the Rolex version of that Tudor I want!
And a few more again and I could get a Silver Snoopy Speedy. But why not spend just a little bit more and get the cherry dial Day-Date?
It's almost paralizing me in a way.

Its awful. How you can even turn a GOAT watch like the nautilus into this monstrosity is impressive.
>>
>>18598557
Each watch I own is "the best watch ever" in its own way. Sometimes that doesn't require spending a lot of money, sometimes it does.
>>
>>18598557
There’s thinking about watches as being “best” like >>18598568 and that’s an effective (almost healthy) cope, but really, you’re overthinking it. Plus, concerning yourself with which trinket is “best” only leads to celibacy. Spend your brain activity on friends& family, not toys.

If you like a watch and can afford it, buy it. If you like an expensive watch, don’t buy the shitty cope version because it will only remind you of how poor you are.
Don’t fret about specs. If a watch you like only has 100m versus 200m of WR, you’ll drive yourself crazy.
>>
>>18598557
I only buy watches that look good, so my watch collection is a few hundred dollars worth of shitters. I don't think I'll ever comprehend people who spend thousands of dollars on a watch, if I was spending that much I'd expect the whole thing to be full custom. With shitters, I don't feel bad if I break one, and I can mix and match parts without some watch nerd screeching because it ruins the value of a watch I spent 20 bucks on to practice zaratsu with.

>>18598563
It's not a Nautilus.
Patek isn't just the Nautilus brand, they have the right to make new models.
>>
>>18598610
Patek can’t win. If they stick to tradition, people will screech that they never make anything new.
If they try to create something new, those same people will screech that Patek is abandoning tradition.
If they’re expensive, you get screeching about how they’re elitist.
If they make something less expensive, they’re catering to the lowest common denominator.
>>
>>18598619
It's like for movies, if you have new ideas there's 80% chances that it fails, if you do remakes there's 80% chances it works but people will call you lazy.

That VC is literally a reskinned speedmaster cal321 (in steel) for 6x the price. Same movement, worse WR, better finishing BUT still Swiss-tier. Honestly it's ridiculous.
