Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Team all agreed to end at 196 miles on day 30 so I've had a super easy 3 mile walk today.

Boss man in pumped, turns out having the whole team complete this reflects very well on our values thing at work. Boss man has kept his promise, I have a years pass to his fancy gym/spa starting Monday.

Gonna start hitting the weights with him at the weekend and head out to work out there after work.

Ankle feels pretty good too. Still seeing doctor, but I think I'm ok.

So glad I did this. I have kept up my diet (bar steak day) and have not weighed myself this month. Gonna weigh myself Monday to see how I did.

The only supplement I know of that works for weight loss is yacon syrup. It works the same way that GLP-1 agonist drugs work, except it releases real GLP-1 naturally.

You never have to limit protein. Even though it can be measured with the calorie measurement it cannot make you fat. Pic related.

Limiting protein is like limiting fiber. Fiber also burns in a bomb calorimeter and therefore can be measured with the calorie measurement. However people adjust fiber to 0 calories because it doesn't cause obesity. You can essentially do the same thing with protein. Just assume protein measures 0 calories.

Or stop thinking in terms of calories entirely. It's not a measurement that is relevant to weight gain or weight loss.

The only thing you need to do to be slim is stop eating carbs.

To weigh in on the seemingly endless spergout, I've done CICO and keto, I lost weight on both. Keto made me miserable until I found the foods I liked I could eat, but I still worked a cheat day in each week (you could say that should invalidate it, but I was still losing weight). Just watch out and be mindful for sugars and overprocessed carbohydrates. Investigate the different types of sugars and how they're metabolized. Protein is first to retain muscle mass [which retains basal metabolic rate] then go carb/fat one or the other. Do NOT forget fiber. Eat your damn vegetables.

Fructose is the worst, overall, because of how it is broken down in the liver.
Malt sugar [maltose amylose] is surprisingly chill because 80% is digested in the cells, but causes glycemic spikes.
Sugar alcohols are usually not metabolized, but in many cases still cause blood insulin levels to rise.

Ketosis is a good goal, but the best way to hit this is through intermittent fasting. You can aim for a good range after just 14 to 16 hours between meal periods.

You want resistance training to increase your basal metabolic rate. Moments of cardio keep your heart healthy so include some of that. Resistance cardio is the best. The goal is to improve health first then get slimmer. This process is over time and there are no shortcuts without drawbacks.

To fill my bowl with cereal its about ~130g and to that I add about ~300g of milk, that puts the milk at the midway point for my bowl, total for a bowl is ~700kcal. The thing I don't buy is that someone, especially an ex-fatty who like me used to be obese class III could unironically eat a 1 (one) cup of cereal, which is like a tea cup worth not a bowl's worth, a tiny sprinkling of milk, and be be like "that was a satisfying and satiating ~200kcal meal, yum, so full and not hungry at all."
