those are some of the best compounds for pull and press, even the sticky recommends them, you unironically don't need more, but yeah for a balanced workout he should also put a horizonal push (weighted pushups or progressions to planche pushups) and horizontal pull (weighted rows or progressions to front lever pullups)

our bodies are built differently, genetics also play a role here, some people get hurt from dips and can do other press lifts, it's all a matter of preferencem if it's uncomfortable then you don't do that lift it's that easy, you just pick another lift for the same movement pattern/muscle group
