Hey guys, lately at my job I've been feeling a little depressed about the whole tech industry. I work for a game studio, and I've noticed that people are getting burned out really quickly. Initially I blamed management, but upon closer inspection I realized that management were even more burned out than the juniors. I asked my colleague in the Monday stand-up vc what he think, and he said "Everything takes forever now, opening tools, compiling, updating assets, reloading scripts, debugging, and that's just the development side of it.". It really made me think about how overly complex everything is getting, and how unhappy everyone is over the economy. I mean... $6 for a tiny McDonalds cheeseburger which tastes like plastic? we're practically forced to be greedy when negotiating compensation because everything is so expensive now. It feels like a feedback loop of negativity which is going to make our lives so much worse in 5-10 years. Like... whenever I right click on Windows 11 and I see that menu take 1-2 seconds to start up, I just think to myself... "what the fck". A we really spending 1-2 seconds on a button callback these days? like are these niggas for real or what? Billions of dollars in investment and we still have Indians writing the everyday tools as if we're only allowed 1 thread and caching doesn't exist. Not tryna be disrespectful to any of my Curry Colonels out there but god damn bro.

I like to collect "old technology" in preparation for the tech dystopia we are moving towards. I have two used 490s already, but right now there is a pretty good sale in my country for another used one. Considering the recent news, these thinkpads are only going to get more expensive, right? Should I get a third one?

It creates new combinations that might seem novel at first but once you generate enough of them you will see the same output. All generators have rather similar style when you not specify it (the AI slop look), and when you do specify it you are using the same artist names.
>I can just combine LORAs for infinity and fine tune them
I saw LORAs made on synthetic data and they fucking suck. I used CivitAI for 2 years before they paywalled smut so I know what I am talking about. Synthetic data can be useful for picking the right reasoning paths and making chatbots smarter like what every AI company has been doing for the past year, but when it comes to originality idk if you can prevent model collapse. The best current image model is nano banana, or some similar model and while those models are good they are in my experience only good at generating either hyper realistic photos, or editing images because they are multimodal LLMs that have “intelligence” unlike diffusion models which are retarded and can’t even differentiate up from down most of the time. However nano banana is terrible when it comes to generating original pictures that you want to look beautiful, because the more you edit a picture the more it will transform it over time into the basic ChatGPT style cartoon. Making even character designs more generic with each hallucination.

A method for identifying internet users based on their typing style, known as "keyboard signature," is being developed in Russia. The project is being implemented by the Ural State Law University with a grant from the Russian Science Foundation, the university's press service told Uralinformburo. They explained that this is a "legally significant expert method" for law enforcement agencies, which will allow for the identification of the author of a text in cases where traditional digital data, such as an IP address or account, is impossible. The university added that the method is primarily aimed at investigating cases involving the dissemination of extremist materials and "fake news," as well as identifying the authors of anonymous threats and creators of forged documents.

The developer claims that "keyboard signature" is unique to each person "like a fingerprint." The proposed method is based on the analysis of dozens of biometric and behavioral parameters: typing rhythm, keystroke duration, time intervals between keystrokes, error correction patterns, typical typos, and the choice of spellings of "e" or "ё." According to the developer, these characteristics are preserved even when editing text that has already been typed. A special program is used to collect this data, recording every keystroke with millisecond accuracy. The resulting information is processed using preset formulas, creating a "digital portrait" of the user.

There is proof. But no one will accept it. If you want to find out go trolling through the javascript running in the background right now. There isn't just one thing or group of people doing it. User data is valuable because _everyone_ is doing it.

It isn't just your typing habits. Notice the above article says they also listen to your typing cadence. Also known as recording the sounds you're making. Which means they're listening to you all of the time somehow too. Again from multiple devices which are now everywhere.

The only place where this could have ended up is people harvesting everything about everything. It's too valuable. It's the most valuable resource on the planet: Information. The more you know about what's happening the more you can predict the future and make informed decisions in the present.

A digital crystal ball.

It can't be avoided either. Go on and live like a hermit if you want. The 20 fags in your general area will tell us all we need to know about you. Since they're all part of the system.

that's writing style. op is about keystrokes which js enabled botnets like facebook have been doing for a while now. decade at least
anti botting systems also use this. pretty sure runescape has it, if that shit even acts on it
>>

>CTRL-V
>python script that just emulates keystrokes for you

>anti botting systems also use this. pretty sure runescape has it
Yup, but it's pretty basic.
Doesn't show how long you hold down a button, but rather when you send the keystroke and how long it was between the last <any key press> you sent.

Still pretty good at catching people though.
