Nobody buys Windows though. Nobody would use it otherwise. They buy hardware (which has a license, and yes, I realise that means indirectly buying it) or they pirate it.
It's a good magic trick I'll give them that.

The contrarianism wrapped around that some anons are taking up pro-reddit comments just to show off how special they are.
Like your archetypical redditor is a turbo loser while your archetypical 4chan user is a cool loser who is unafraid of anything but then the chitwood arrests happened and exposed a lot of anons looking like shit. I figured this would happen eventually.
Also a lot of white collar workers are on reddit while 4chan seems to have a lot more uneducated bums.

it was not obvious at the time that EUV machines were the way to go. See Intel.
calling TSMC a "economics" company is too reductive. They had to make the right decision without knowing how hellish all of the options really were.
ASML co-develops their hardware with all relevant stakeholders. It's not like TSMC is getting a free ride.
>>
>>107695351
government industrial policy is what shapes your industries.
the 40s to the 2000s were a period of extreme government interference in industry all over the world.
Germany lost their solar power dominance to China after eliminating environmental subsidies.
Japan nearly overtook America in manufacturing in nearly all sectors because of policies pushed by MITI.
In America, trains don't get built because of politics (HOAs, zoning, etc). it's because people don't want them, not because we can't make them.
In China, trains get built because all land is technically owned by the government and you only have a 99 year lease to it. They use eminent domain with impunity whereas with us, eminent domain is followed immediately by a lawsuit.
In America, companies succeed by finding industries that have little to no regulation and then going hard into it.
See SpaceX and other's plans to build data centers in space. They want to build them there because regulations on land are too restrictive, not because building in space is inherently better.
>>
>>107696011
to more directly answer the train question:
you have a product whose design requires the input from hundreds of stakeholders, because it has to go through *their land*
even just one stakeholder can hold the entire product hostage by refusing to play nice.
this results in a prisoner's dilemma scenario where every individual player is motivated to fuck up the project to squeeze out unwarranted concessions, and since every player presses the button, the projects always run out of time and money and fizzle out.
lesson: never build anything of importance through committee
>>
>>107696085
Why do many European countries avoid such severe problems with trains? Less powerful local governments?

>They use eminent domain with impunity
That's not true at all, which is how you get shit like pic related.

Chinese land owners are actually very well compensated whenever the government wants to build on their land and they have the right to refuse.
There is even a class of super wealthy ex-peasants who sold their farms for dense urban development projects.
They and their children never have to work a day in their lives ever again and it tends to make them act like absolute cunts.

Reminder of the following:

1. Google will merge ChromeOS and Android to form a FOSS Linux-based desktop OS that will be 100% free to download and use.

https://www.androidauthority.com/aluminium-os-android-for-pcs-3619092/

2. Windows will be severely affected by this new, totally free competitor and will bleed marketshare.

3. All existing Linux desktop environments will be totally outclassed by Google's top secret desktop UI and underlying OS. Even Linux users will give up on shit like Mint and just use Google's desktop for their daily driver OS.

2026 will finally be the year of the Linux desktop, and it will be because Google will do to desktops what they did to phones.

You know it's coming. Don't act like this was a surprise.

>But modern Windows is much worse
It's not. And again, I'm talking about the visual design. The most basic graphic design stuff such as font size, size of the elements, spaces between elements, colors and contrast. It's just doesn't look like a finished product but more like a product demo that shows that it works.
>>107695982
>The pajeets at Microsoft then decided a centered taskbar and start menu is what people actually wanted - literal cargo cult engineering, they did not understand why things used to be laid out in a particular way and changed them to make a shittier version that looks more "modern".
There is different use cases and solutions for interface problems. Centered taskbar/dock make sense on big displays. Especially on sizes when you never run any windows fullscreen.

But even on that point I can't agree with you, MacOS sure, even Gnome (and Pantheon the elementary DE) is arguably better, but not Windows.
Consider that KDE's budget is something like 500 000 EUR, it's impressive what they can do considering that.

Yes. You can even use runtime information like profiling different static buffer sizes.

Minimal amount of optimizations like constant folding.

I have a podcast on spotify and im looking for fake reviews and 5 star ratings, im posting episodes but i need the validation for personal reasons.

is there somewhere on the clear net or dark web where im able to buy reviews and ratings, like maybe a review farm or some sort of spotify bot.

i know you can buy followers on instagram on some dark net marketplaces, what about reviews for a podcast?

I've also heard that some spotify musicians use bots to boost their songs

The heltec? Yeah it works to find new nodes but most of the time it's just the same router nodes in my area.
I want to get a couple solar powered wismesh repeaters, hook one up at home and the other in my truck. I go offroading with friends a lot but sometimes we miss radio callouts and it gets messy. I want a text communication channel just between us that doesn't need internet or satellite.
Plus the heltecs can send gps data which could help finding someone that gets hurt and can't talk on a radio.

first pc livestream the screen with something like OBS. second pc analyze image and send mouse input to first pc.

a way to defeat that would be to have signed mouse and keyboard like HDMI is doing.
The mouse would sign its data packets like a block chain and then game process would verify if the input is legit.
