Excluding playing video games on them WTF where computers in the 70s and 80s used for?

Like serious question.

The capacity of them was laughable the 8-inch Floppy disk is ~242KB

>Diskettes formatted for this system stored 242,944 bytes

1 Wikipedia article page saved as ASCII text takes up 25KB at the lowest.

So 10 pages would fill that one up of pure ASCII text.

You can not store books on them.

No I have a job and I did see things also when I was visiting my dad in the office in the 90s.

I understand the

Argument and what are the benefits of this however
0) This is incredibly lame (while being useful)
1) I like more information on this. Like did businesses keep forever the TXT computer documents they generated? Or what did they do?

Since I can swear that all of them in the 90s did have gigantic cabinets with Ring binders that probably did have their orders and legal documents together.

I also work and encounter office(in 2025) people who still have printed out orders in ring binders in a cabinets full of ring binders titled

i2p doesn't
the sketchy thing about tor is the exit nodes, of which there are only a few thousand, so it's not difficult to imagine a man in the middle attack; but they're not going to use it against some guy buying weed
there's no exit on i2p, and every user is a node
>>
>>107742323
Someone buying weed from the darknet is never going to pass through an exit node anyway. All .onion traffic stays on the Tor network without ever exiting to the clearnet.
Entry relays are also important for anonymity, and, unlike exit relays, you can self-host an entry relay or a bridge without getting your door kicked down.
>>
>>107740990
you can use i2p to ssh into a dynamic IP address because the i2p address remains the same
>>
>>107742389
I do this with tor onion hidden services. Speeds are acceptable. I would assume latency in ssh over i2p to be worse than it is with tor, though.
>>
>>107738898
>>107738909
>>107739002
You actually should use TOR over a VPN so your ISP can’t see that you’re using TOR and flag you.
>but then the VPN will see my TOR traffic
How? You’re simply replacing your ISP with the VPN company. Privacyguides.org recommends this. Mental Outlaw and some other influences memed this “never use a VPN with TOR” thing because they don’t know what they’re talking about.

All of the above
>>
>>107742331
I'm not sure it's has the least bloat considering OpenBSD is the one religiously removing code that is useless and hard to maintain. In fact NetBSD has more tools and code in its base than the other 3 I think. Ofc it doesn't mean shit because bloat doesn't affect performance unless it's on an active execution path.
I don't think its libc is the most optimized because literally no one uses it for daily driving and it has no manpower. also portability is their main goal. it doesn't inherently mean it but in netbsd's case we can assume it means no special optimizations or tricks.
Literally no one uses NetBSD as a server seriously so it has no reason to be the fastest on IO as well.
TL;DR: dead os no one cares about. zero manpower.

Adaptation. We humans adapt to anything. When we get something better we start seeing everything prior as worse. Just like going from 60hz to 120 and then back to 60. 60 always looked good prior until you tried something better

No, PPD with those displays is insufficient for a monitor. The screens in the headset aren't high res enough to properly replicate a monitor in VR.

Also, why the actual fuck would you prefer to stare at a fake monitor in VR instead of just looking at a real monitor which I'm sure you already own anyway?

I mean, they've already pushed a Windows update before that 'accidentally' reset Bitlocker keys - at which point, if you were a Home edition user with the Disk Encryption feature (aka Bitlocker lite) turned on (which MS force-enabled a while back), you had to log in to your MS account to reobtain a key.

You're a fucking gorilla if you can't put the pieces together on this. It so obviously fixes all of Microsoft's problems that it might as well have been called Visual Rust.
