Grok for sure.

I still like grok for its tone. Gemini is really good as well.

>>107732908Mozilla moved to supporting the XDG standard last year (fucking finally) so that's not an issue now if you want to snapshot the config files in ~/. config/Mozilla but not the cache, etc.Ironically they are better than Chrome now which stores its fucking databases in ~/.config like that's a totally normal thing it should be doing.

>>107735725>You lose 50% of the storage space since all data is duplicatedYup that makes sense, I meant more like hypothetically if I had a pool of storage using RAID, the usage size is limited to the smallest drive in the pool. From what I've read so far that's only the case for stuff like RAID5, etc.? Like I said I only plan on using raid1 on identical drive sizes. In regards to btrfs: I assume that'd it'd use the matching drives (8+8) (16+16) as raid 1 pairs, and present the pair as individual devices that are then added to the pool for 24tb total, but I figured I would ask to be 100% sure.>>107735848>btrfs has a lot fewer restrictions about adding new disks and rotating out old ones outI think I'll do btrfs then.>>107735848>it's not out of treeI didn't know what this meant so I googled it. Is the issue here mainly that the out of tree module developers are at the whim of the upstream kernel developers, and shit can break at any time? So BTRFS would just be more reliable since Debian supports it naturally?
I recently bought a windows 8 era laptop with a pretty bad pentium and 4gb of ram. I was wondering what distro would be the best purely on the basis of getting the most performance out of the laptop. I'm basically a complete novice at using linux, but windows 10 ltsc isnt cutting it so I figured its time to branch out and try something new.

Looking for audiophile headphones of start to mid tier or good buck fr bang at around 200-600 dolla. Wired or Bluetooth. The thing is, I love to listen while I sleep and I sleep sideways so I would really appreciate headphones that feel comfy when squeezed against your ear and the pillow (if any).My previous ones from 2013-14 were my audio technica ath m50x, they are great - still using them. The wired got a damaged after years but I just replaced it, as they are replaceable./g/ used to shill them back in the day, they proved their worth, sound quality is superb. I'd just like maybe something wireless that feels comfy side-sleeping.

yeah, i just hacked a smudge tool into ms paint because i felt like it
Glad you're enjoying yourself extending the features of a classic tool. Good thread. Makes me wish someone would make a reverse-engineered version like the 3D Pinball source ports.
>>107729648Does this one really work this way? If you smudge yellow into blue it becomes tan?
>>107736624Smudging is just pulling the colours, so in that example he pulled much more yellow than blue. Despite being more interesting to look at, smudging is much less useful than e.g. a blurring brush, being able to change a brushes opacity, or brush softness.
>>107736624its like a light greenish grey color, i think a better way to describe it is "cream" or something, its almost white, but yes thats mostly correct and here i just did another one
>>107736402I think for a program as simple as Paint, it's easier to recreate the same functions and make them behave the same way than to reverse engineer it. It makes really heavy use of Win32 GDI calls, and many of the tools are just interactive wrappers around those calls, so you'd have to reimplement GDI to port it to another platform after reverse engineering it. The most complex tool to make work like the original is the curvy line, but that's just a bezier.

The z-fighting issue was caused by a noise function in the fragment that was being used for per face color variation. Opus asked if the z-fighting was flickering or not and deduced it was a shader issue and not a depth precision issue. I asked it about potentially implementing jolt physics and it was excited so I’ll do that after I make dinner. I’ll post a video when it’s complete. Looks like it won’t take long. Jolt simply needs a list of triangles to make a custom collider for each chunk and it already provides a “player” present which I assume is just a capsule collider. Certainly easier than rolling your own physics.
>anon isn’t using slang yet>is still using glsl/glsl like a dumbass

Here it is, courtesy of Claude Opus. I did not touch a single line of code. This is about as far as I'll go with this project. I need to get back to working on my new renderer, which I'm also using Opus for albeit a very contained amount. But I will implement this stuff soon. Funny thing, I actually built Jolt wrong (forgot to disable a cmake setting so it would be compatible with msvc) so Opus went into the external folder itself and built it correctly. I didn't even ask.
