Just finished the tcod rogulike tutorial and added floor persistence as well as an action point system. It all works and I'm very proud of the fact that I actually understand what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. That being said if anyone has any advice or suggestions for working effectively in python(general performance tips, newbie pitfalls, best practices and so on) please feel free to suggest. Always looking for ways to improve.

Set the thingy in BIOS to Balanced if those are the only two options. if there's a 'weaker' mode choose that.
And I assume you're using Linux. In Windows you could set the power mode to 'Best Efficiency', which is the leftmost option, 'Balanced' being the middle toption and 'Best Performance' being the other two.
And possibly most importantly, again in Windows, is go into classic power options, advanced, power processor management, system cooling policy, and set it to 'Passive' rather than 'Active'.
But on Linux I don't know if you have such extensive options.

I've got a 5 volt picrel type of chink power source spec'd at 7 amps, used it for a single board computer + USB hub with Wi-Fi dongle and a 4G dongle. Worked great.
On top of that I hooked up a dummy USB female (haha dumb female), sticked a phone with a charging cable to it and to my surprise the phone somehow understood there was more than 10 watts (2 amps) available. idk why as there's no data.

I'll give it a shot but what's the reasoning for it? Isn't that the option for lower fan speed?

How the fuck is a 1998 game capable of generating collisions for any terrain and it just works on super old hardware?
Meanwhile Godot's trimesh is so slow it cannot even run smoothly on modern hardware (and also broken since version 4), while anything other than trimesh will cause the player to literally fall through the stage?

Can someone explain this?

yeah but that relationship grows exponentially
thats, ofc, ignoring the fact that an object's collisions with itself are seldom modeled, that only the nearby triangles are considered, and that collision models are very simplified in their polygon counts compared to what gets rasterized

we are never coming out of that because the industry doesnt want to come out of that
because that would mean theres more demand for programmers than theres programmers
and you know how things go when supply doesnt meet demand...

getting paid 6 figures to eat brunch half the day and write 10 lines of javascript during the other is definitely a thing of the past, i think

i experimented it on me
and look it up
how gingerol interacts with sars family of virii
i knew this shit in may 2020. from studies on natural compounds' effect against flu viruses in poultry of all things
2 years later this knowledge saved my life. i ate a lot of antibiotics at a certain point so i was immuno-compromised mind you
i caught the coof, started to have a drowning reflex and shit
i was headed straight for the respirators and 5% probability of making it out of the hospital alive
with my last strength i bought 1 kg of ginger and black tea to infuse it into
this saved my life. but i consumed all of it during the course of a week or so
you have to saturate your body with gingerol for it to work. at least equally high concentrations as when gingerol starts to have a strong tension-lowering effect, thats why its totally unsuitable for people with hypotension- it can kill them at these concentrations

silver lining of the story:
the coof somehow kickstarted my immune system. didnt get sick again until past week.

I'm desperate enough for work that I'm going to start applying to dev jobs on Upwork for 3rd world rates, like $15/hour. I'm hoping that at least being a white American will put me above all the jeets applying and that no other Americans are desperate enough to do this too.

The BBC Master Turbo had a 2 MHz 65c02 and a second 4 MHz 65c02
I expect this is another case of Americans rejecting the inherentBBC superiority
The BBC just goes better per pound - even taking exchange rates into account
I wish I could understand what it is about Americans and the BBC
>>107895996
>1995
Which is not to say that a 16 MHz Z80 wouldn't of course be a corker
It would be nearly as fast as a 4 MHz 65c02
>>
>>107896883
>The BBC Master Turbo had a 2 MHz 65c02 and a second 4 MHz 65c02
Just took a quick look at it and it does seem pretty impressive. From what I understand the 4 MHz CPU handles program logic while the 2 MHz CPU does everything else (I/O, graphics, sound, etc)
So yeah, if the 4 MHz CPU can do the crunching without having to deal with anything else, I guess it might be the fastest 8-bit machine
>>
>>107896883
I'm the anon that called color 8-bit micros toys.

My cousins are bongs from Kent and I visited them with my family back in 1986. They had an older (but expanded) model of the BBC and I was not impressed. For a machine that costed as much as this one did (compared to the c64 anyways), it actually offered little value. A custom chipset just goes a looong way here.

One thing I'd say about it, the build quality was excellent for a toy micro, and actually looked like something I'd have been happy to place on my desktop.

Not shitting on the BBC (insert jak here), but I'd say RadioShack oifferings at the time blew that thing out of the water on every metric possible.

I've owned a few now. When I still lived in the US there was all kinds of interesting stuff I could pick up with just the shitty antenna it came with. Now that I live in the Philippines I bought another one and I actually set my own personal FM DX records with the basic $10 RTL-SDR and an antenna meant for a digital TV tuner with a magnetic base on it that I stuck on my tin roof. I got all my personal bests including hearing Tokyo FM on 80mhz with my most half assed setup.
>>
>>107897289
Nevermind that. They are doing the typical tactic where they list something like an antenna cheap but the actual item you're searching for is way more expensive. There are no RSP1s on aliexpress that cheap.

I have some sources, that say that if Greenland crisis should escalate, there might be upcoming American Tech ban in EU.

We’ve already been slowly de-Americanizing our stack, but now we’re thinking we may have to accelerate and get all workstations on Linux by Q3 this year.

Currently looking at Infomaniak kSuite as a productivity alternative.

Any suggestions for enterprise office/collab + Linux fleet management (SSO/IAM, updates, MDM-ish, remote support, security)?

Management wants plan by the end of Q1 on the table ready for quick implementation should need arise.
