cloud gaming will become extremely popular if this rumour end up being true

why would they take precious GPUs off generating fake tiktoks and use them for useless shit like gaming?
>>

Cloud computing is obviously the endgame. Why sell hardware directly to consumers when you can make them pay for it for the rest of their lives?
>>
Nvidia and everybody else is using 99% of their compute power for AI shit already, they wouldn't be able or willing to divert any of that into cloud services. People will just stop being able to play new games, period.
I hope that means the gaming industry collapses as a result, it's been in dire need of a fresh start since forever.
>>
Hopefully those new intel gpus get better drivers then. They already sell those at a loss right now.

would it be a big bottleneck to put ddr4 3200 Mhz rams into am5 build?
>>
>>107723077
Depends. The main competitor is going to be used enterprice mini-PCs. The raspberry pie will probably be cheaper, probably not by much depending on how cheap you can find a good used deal and how expensive raspberry pies are where you live.
HOWEVER the raspberry pi will use a lot less power, since newer processors are more efficient than old ones and ARM ones are still more efficient than x86. If you're building a low performance, low capacity NAS without big requirements, and you're in Europe or somewhere where electricity costs a lot, then it might be worthwhile.

I don't mean mere LLM whoerely respond to your textual input and become bloated and slower as time goes by.
I mean an actual AI that would resemble a human being, being able to contantly sense the outside world, and respond to it accordingly.
That has long term data storage, and isn't always trapped in RAM.
Something that has an architecture like this:

[ Sensors / Inputs ]
(audio, vision, telemetry, events, timers)

[ Perception Modules ]
(speech-to-text, vision, signal processing)

[ Event / Salience Detector ]
(what matters right now?)

[ World State Model ]

It's all javascript in the end. You deliver javascript and you modify the dom.
People disagree on how much to deliver, how to structure the program, and where to do so (server/client), thus, framework of the month syndrome.

I'd say make the else be bounded to the if directly preceding it. It's arbitrary but it's an easy rule to remember and it make more sense than bounding the else to the outter most if.

Ministral 3 14B seems OK and not safemaxxed... when it works.

Unfortunately it's generally retarded for the first few messages even at low temperature, and it just wants to italicize everything and use its own dialogue format unless you keep editing messages until it eventually gets it. Character adherence is generally not good either, it turns even shy girls into sluts. I'm not sure what went wrong when Mistral trained the model(s). Hopefully they'll fix the issues in the next version.

Holy shit now that you mention it... I think the hyper-shilling of AI has generally got more people asking questions like "why are GPUs and memory getting so expensive?" which leads to non-engineers asking questions like "what are computers, really?" then you end up watching a youtube video about the history of the semiconductor and the algorithm decides to introduce you into silicon doping and photolithography(All topics which they don't ever mention once in public school even though it has been hyper relevant since before we were all born. Seriously, I can't count the number of times I've heard someone say Moore's Law but I don't think I've ever heard the word photolithography come out of someone's mouth).

I think it's because boomers are going all-in and telling everyone they won't survive unless they learn AI. Now your 60 year old coworkers and teachers are now blatantly sharing documents filled with those emojis copilot always uses (teachers literally ask AI to design their syllabus and lectures now)

It is amazing how good we are at technology yet how fucking atrociously bad we are at making money using that technology.
Meanwhile Americans make billions promising technologies that don't yet exist and know that won't exist for many years like 90% of what elon promises Tesla and Space X will do if we just give him 2 more weeks bro.
On the other side you have the chinks who just take thibgs that already exist and take over the market by scaling production at a lower cost.
We truly are too good for this fake and gay world.

>its extremely good
You must be using some definition of "good" I'm not familiar with. Hyprland uses a homebrew malloc (https://blog.vaxry.net/articles/2024-own-malloc) in order to enable a bizarre hook mechanism that relies on writing machine code to a predictable location in /tmp and then loading it back later.
Completely basic reliability practices are not followed in favor of "development velocity". For example, Hyprland uses external commands the way people who don't know about SQL injection use SQL: by building up a large command string that then gets passed to the shell. Competent devs handle arguments to external programs as an array.
The overall release practices are questionable as well. Hyprland has a habit of relying on bleeding-edge dependencies, e.g. versions of GCC that aren't even packaged in most distros yet, and committing enormous architectural changes in point releases.
Yeah, I'm not running that code on my computer. It's peak cowboy programming, and all of that complexity for what? To provide animations and "ricing" for kids who favor style over substance? Other tiling WMs have more than enough features.
