Here’s a direct quote from your article
> The availability of parts from older ASML machines on secondary markets has allowed China to build a domestic prototype, with the government setting a goal of producing working chips on the prototype by 2028, according to the two people.
So these chinks cant really produce the lenses and has to scavenge it just to produce a working prototype. China is definitely 10 years behind and they’re definitely not catching up soon.

When someone else has something you want but you can't get it yourself, that's poor, right? Like yeah I make a good living and have a house and can eat my way to obesity, but because there are rich folks with much more than me, I'm pooooor. So much poverty in this country, just terrible, the worst.

I've never used the ik version, but for Llama.cpp, quants below IQ2_M really suck and make tons of errors for most models I've tried, that a smaller model at Q3 or above wouldn't make. There is a world of difference between Q2 quants and we really cannot be unspecific about exactly what Q2 we are talking about and for which model of course. This makes sense because the intelligence loss is not linear.

For my workloads I don't need 48-96 slow cores and 512GB of slow ECC RAM in a huge loud power-hungry form factor.
I need about 8-16 fast cores and 64-128GB of fast RAM in a compact quiet form factor.

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

Python, Julia, MATLAB, FORTRAN.

People shit on Go's standard lib but it works and you can make a lot of useful things without issue. C++ is legacy bloat hell, but it is legit shocking the amount of things you can make with a naked C++ install and GCC.

for 66 dollars you are better off scrounging ebay for an old laptop that has a 1tb drive in it and just taking that out. bonus free spare laptop if you find the right deal.
if you want real hard drive deals, ebay refurbished is the way to go. goharddrive is also very reputable for refurbished units and they have a 5y warranty.

It was just some random shit from bundles. I'm fairly sure it was just a visual glitch though as it's never happened before and the difference is about what VAT would have been.
Anyway it is kinda annoying, but it's mostly stuff I was gonna get anyway and it was still slightly cheaper than getting it outside of the bundle page. I'll try complaining about VAT not being included in the checkout price, but if I don't get any compensation it's not the end of the world.

Truth
No one uses this memelang
All the threads starting flame wars about Zig, Jonathan Blowjob or Odin are just shill threads for shitty memelangs nophono cares about
The only things you need are C#, Java, C++ and Rust
Everything else “solves” a non-issue
>>
>>107689402
Personally, I don't like the categorization of "C/C++ replacement". Modern C++ is enormously complex and, when used idiomatically, looks very different from C. That's why I see Rust and Zig as filling different niches. Rust is a C++ replacement, an already very complex language with extra features being added each version. Zig is a C replacement, a simpler language focused on manual control.
I like many things about Rust, like the trait syntax and sum types, but I'm not completely sold on the borrow checker. But the real reason I avoid the language is social. The community is full of deranged ideological shill types. I don't mean flooding formerly technical forums with leftist politics and getting people who object canceled, though they do that too. I mean that they are very ideological about Rust, which makes it very hard to get a reasonable assessment of the language's weaknesses.
>>
>>107694894
What if you use Zig for the low level metal stuff and Rust for what’s above that?
>>
>>107695009
Sounds reasonable to me. The benefits from Rust's complexity are questionable in embedded systems that allocate all memory statically or in the initialization routine, so Zig seems like a better fit there. On the other hand, memory in personal computers is so abundant that you can just clone() your way out of many borrow checking problems.
