I am trying to implement a backend for Gnus. This backend already has a uuid for each article. Do I understand it right that I have to make a mapping from these uuids to an integer article id? I just cannot understand why this is required. Why can't it just use my uuids??

Yes, r6rs was a misguided vista-like release, which was somewhat corrected by r7rs, so you can stay with r5rs or r7rs, but r6rs and r7rs (large) is where they dumped the slop.

I was bored so I made a "case" for this low power board I had laying around. Wood since my 3D printer needs repairs.
About on par with a Pi 5, but with upgradable memory, SATA and PCIe.

Dunno what to do with it though.
Would make for a cute thingy to run a bunch of services on but I already have everything covered.

so i reattached the fan, yeah the idle temp drops are significant
>motherboard = 50 to 37 (-13)
>cpu = 47 to 35 (-12)
>ssd = 50 to 43 (-7)

if theres no realistic risk of the fan somehow sparking a fire, if all it'd do even if something went wrong is it would simply stop working and die rather than anything more serious...maybe i'll stick with the fan on...

I said it faster at compute you /v/tard not silly gayming. It is stuck on the same node so there will be no tangible increases in power efficiency you dunce. Pascal and Ada Lovelace gains are a fluke not the norm. They are almost owed entirely to node shrinkage.
Blackwell is a refined Ada Lovelace. It performs as such being the same node. If you were expecting massive leaps. You are going to be sorely disappointed.
>>
>>107836853
Yes, they can run AAA. You don't need RT/4K nor do the masses care for such things. The reason to get discrete solutions rapidly disappears for the masses.
Discrete solutions are regressing back to their hobbyist, prosumer and professional only roots with pricing and volume sold.
>>
>>107836620
Nope, more and more /v/tards are using iGPUs. It is just shrinking, but vocal holdout of old-fag hobbyists that are still on the discrete bandwagon.
Micro-transaction and gache simulators that make the big $$$$ don't need 4K/RT.

>>
>>107838774
codec compatibility, i.e. your phone or earbuds could support sbc, aac, aptx (and what flavour of aptx), ldac, or samsung's proprietary codec?
can the earbuds be effectively paired with multiple devices, i.e. your phone and your computers?
>>
>>107838774
Batteries will eventually wear out.
Disconnecting one device and connecting another is still slower and more awkward than pulling the plug out of one jack and sticking it in another.
Latency. Doesn't matter for music. Some video players detect latency and compensate by delaying the video, some don't and then the sound doesn't line up. Sucks ass for games.
Mic quality. It's recording from up at your ear.
Bluetooth. When you open the mic device it switches the connection from the "A2DP" mode that plays good sounding stereo audio but doesn't have a mic, into "HFP" mode which plays liquid ass sounding mono audio and captures equally ass sounding mono microphone audio.
Also depending on the brand, sometimes the two earbuds forget they're a pair. Sometimes putting both of them in the case together and long pressing the touch button on both fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.
>JLab Go Pop
"Go Pop" doesn't seem like a name that inspires confidence for something with a speaker. Or anything electronic either really.

10 was appreciated but Vista and 8.0, 8.1 were despised. Vista had a particular reason for its hate, machines with 256MB-512 of ram were shipping with Vista ready and the normies were too dumb to know how to disable translucent aero

I have two external drives, one 20tb seagate HDD and one 2tb SDD that was scavenged from a laptop and put in housing. I want to preserve their data best I can. What is the easiest way to scrub the data to prevent bitrot/the data loss SSD is known for? Is there an application that makes it easy, or do I just have to do it with powershell?
>>
File: suboptimal.jpg (22 KB, 274x490)
22 KB
22 KB JPG
Powershell or shell scripting is probably the easiest to maintain parity between 2 sets of data. But the crux of the problem is your source of truth is 1 drive. While magnetic media doesn't bitrot to the degree solid state does, it you want a minimum of protection from it you will need 4 drives.
If you have 1 drive, you loose
2 drives you can mirror, but you don't have a source of truth cause one drive can fail.
3 drives you will have a source of truth as long as all 3 keep working, when 1 fails though you can introduce bitrot while rebuilding.
4 drives will give you 100% protection assuming no more than 1 drive fails at a time, and more than 2 drives don't fail at the same time(that would cause array failure).

On top of that you need to run a copy on write file system, ZFS or BTRFS ideally in raidz2.

Last item to look into on your file storage system would be error correcting RAM. This will protect data in transit.

As of right now, for drawing on the go with optional regular usage? iPad for sure. Pen pressure support isn't really a priority on Android unfortunately, so just go with iPad.

iPad Air 5th gen doesn't have facial recognition, right? Lack of hover is gonna suck but I'm considering that one solely because of that.
>>
>>107838756
everyone that used atleast 1 graphics tablet in his life know how dogshit apple pencil really is: slippery (you have to use paperlike screen protector), produces lots of fine plastic dust (paperlike screen chew thru plastic ends like crazy), you have to turn off squeeze and double tap, battery life on pencil pro is tragic, you cant use felt nibs, its too slim so you might get pain and cramps. Constant taps because its hard plastic on glass.

Line quality is nice, there is lots of good software, more than on android but android its catching up slowly.

You have to try wacom pro pen 3 - its feels like cheap plastic stylus but when u use it it feels just right. Just enough give on taps, just enough resistance on for longer lines, just enough control for slower lines, no problems with line quality. Japan is on top of that business for long time

Spen is trash with gummy nibs (or not gummy cuz they change nibs like every tablet generation so you have to buy newer one), better buy wacom emr pen that works with samsung tablets (spen is rebranded wacom tech).

As for other android: almost every apple pencil knockoff type stylus from oneplus, xiaomi, lenovo ect are dogshit, there is few that are ok but nowhere near lvl of apple pencil

Window and surface stylus are mem, there is more Microsoft gives greater priority to sending your drawing and writing data to the server for ai training than making stylus that can draw in straight lines
>>
>>107839679
Quite a few don't use facial recognition actually, they use fingerprint scan. Even the latest base model iPad and current iPad Mini use either fingerprint or passcode.
