DLSS 4.5 on performance mode, is better than FSR4 on quality mode.
It is over for AMD.

Then if you add frame gen for minimum latency.

The RTX 5050 can really btfo the RX 9070 XT.

What? Is this bait?

FG is a meme, even when DLSS upscaling is actually good.

damn, this exact thing happened to me when I was 26. Entire house was empty cuz parents were moving except my room, and they came in looking at me from that exact angle while I was on my computer that I have to be out by the next day. Put my computer in my car and drove across the country to sleep on someone's couch who I met in an IRC room lol.
Never got that 6 figure coding job, probably blue collar til I die at this point

The new games app in ios 26 sucks. Here’s an idea. Split games from apps and make it global. Then a dedicated games app wouldn’t be necessary. Why can’t a trillion dollar company figure this out, but I can?

I think I'm finally going to upgrade from my S22 Ultra and looks like most of the choices I don't have to pay anything extra a month. Are the Pixel 10s or regular galaxy s25s good? Good pictures and watching videos are probably the only things I really care about.

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

Anyone ever bought refurbished WD drives direct from WD themselves?
What is 'refurbished' by their standards? Come with a 1 year limited warranty.

Are they returns from casual customers (often retards who demand returns because the e.g. the 1TB drive was 'only' 931GB!!!!!!), so the drives are barely used?
Or would they have a lot of mileage on them, or bad SMART values?

It's about a 35-40% discount, so I'm considering it.

I've been colecting my porn and shitposts for over a decade. You bet your ass I've got that on raidz2 with daily backups to a secondary server. Lots of people also talk about how "if I lose my media I'll just torrent it again", but I'm more of a, "sooner rather than later (they) are going to nuke every source and I'll only have what I have after that", kinda guy.

Do manufacturers even do "refurbishes"? They're probably recertified. Which means more than likely they were part of a batch that had too high of a failure rate in testing, so an oem like Dell rejected the order and sent them back.

Because DLSS Quality is the best AA method outside of actual SSAA, but good luck doing that when your native resolution is 4k.

It's true, my bench isn't even 100 kg.
But anyway, afaik NetBSD still hasn't implemented stuff like stack protector or W^X? (though honestly I haven't been keeping track)
Idk how one could remove third party repositories without bricking it anyway, so I found it safer to just go with the monolithic OpenBSD.

Maybe you know it, but I don't know enough about NetBSD to be able to pull it off, send a guide and I'll give it a look though.
