You were doing something retarded if your company noticed. Either creating crazy high system load somehow or, most likely, getting infringement notices sent for your IP.
>>
>>107589031
Because they put the fast ones on the CPU for latency reduction, and CPU hosted PCIe lanes are expensive. SLI was always a scam anyway.

I have a huge library of audiobooks and podcasts, unfortunately I don't have much space. What's the right step if I want to keep my collection and at the same time free space? What's the equivalent of converting your .png images to .avif?
>>
>>107592080
unrelated to your question but I'm surprised mozilla haven't removed this user-friendly feature, or being able to hold shift and always get the real right-click menu.
considering other user-friendly features they've removed, like being able to run unsigned addons or modify request headers and resend them. anyone else remember that there was such a button in F12 before?
i'm just salty about features being removed from firefox. FTP protocol? gone (why?). compact theme? gone (why?). view page source? now requires a re-request of the web page instead of just giving you the source code of the page you have open (why?). want to use the old tabs instead of bubbles at the top, well you can't (why?). want to use userChrome.css? need to modify about:config (why?). and why the flying fuck does about:config still not have descriptions for the variables? they obviously have descriptions somewhere, even if comments in the source code, just put them in about:config already (why not?).
feels like i'm forgetting something important that mozilla removed from firefox for no reason. (i'm not thinking of npapi or the old xul addon system.)

>>
>>107593147
If you don't compare about compatibility, yes. Next time you ask a stupid question, go on Google.
>>
>>107592445
Yeah, I completely agree. But philosophically (lol) 320 mp3 is like lossy to lossless. It's an overkill, but you feel good about it.
>>
>>107593147
>is the new audio codec from 2013 better than the one from the 1990s?
no, they just made it for fun as an hobby project, just for the hell of it, and we like to mention it for funzies.
seriously, I don't understand why people even ask these dumbass questions, it's bait, right?
>>
>>107590972
Yes, there is a real difference, you can see it when looking at a spectrogram. Lossy compression removes information deemed unimportant for the application.
Does that difference matter though? Can you hear it? Will you care? The answer is probably no.

Yes! I prefer NBP for photorealism, but for animation it seems Image-1.5 is good.
>>
>>
>>107592853
For anime I think it defaults more on its generic style. This is "A high-quality 1988 retro anime screencap in the style of Gunbuster, character design by Haruhiko Mikimoto." in NBP.
>>
… and this is the same style, minus the character design part (artist names are blocked), in Image-1.5.

No attempts at style transfer using references in both, just direct txt2img. NBP isn't perfect, but it's much more reminiscent of the specified style, in my opinion.

>>
>>107593234
this whole thread just proves that 4chan is too retarded to understand user experience
>>
>>107593303
no, "master branch" just sounds like technical jargon. "main branch" sounds considerably less jargon-y, and is conveniently less characters to type as well
>>
>>107593337
i disagree, master makes it clear where it lies in the hierarchy

if someone learns that there are both master and main branches there's a lot of room for confusion. this introduces ambiguity you're claiming it's supposed to solve and for no clear purpose
>>
>>107593358
well consider that many modern users of git are retarded and don't think of their repos in terms of its hierarchy. many users just want to interact with it as little as possible. also if there's both master and main branches in a repo you have a problem, so i'm not seeing where the ambiguity lies

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

Yes. Even if we only look at upscaling, VLC uses bicubic by default iirc and mpv uses lanczos and the difference is obvious. VLC is meant to be simple and fast, mpv is meant to be high-quality and highly configurable. Both have a lot of features.
