What’s the proper way to measure your dict in bytes? When you size up a dict, do you care more about how wide it is (number of entries) or how deep it goes (what each one holds)? And when you need to unload the payload, do you dump it straight into a buffer, stream it somewhere else, or flush it to disk?

I'm seriously starting to think about making my own torrent client that works exactly how I want it and ask to have it approved on private trackers. All it needs to do is:>maintain one single https connection to the tracker for announces>download/upload the file contents with TCP only>save the torrent state in some file>a basic tuiNo UDP, no DHT, no webseeds, no magnets, no extensions, absolutely nothing else that isn't needed for a private tracker.Once the skeleton is finished and fully working, you don't need to change it at all anymore, you can add features to make handling torrents easier and that's it.

What are some Paintdotnet-like graphics manipulation programs?I really liked Paintdotnet and the last year and a half I've been really missing it and none of the alternatives I've tried really do it for me.>GIMP>seems powerful but doing anything is asinine and feels like even the simplest things require me to do 10x more inputs and every once in a while it just won't let me do something and even after I read the documentation I might still not know why>Pinta>Really cool and almost what I want but not only does it lacks certain features or does them imo worse than paintdotnet it's also LAGGY as all hell. I'm on a middle-low end device and it runs slow whenever I zoom in or expand canvas above a certain threshold. For comparison paintdotnet runs like a dream on my 2010 low end laptop even when I'm working on something like 10k x 10k canvas with multiple layers.>Krita>Clearly made for drawing rather than image manipulation. Had some success but the situation is somewhat similar to GIMP.>VMing Windows>Runs awful.>Distroshelf>Have yet to try doing that with Windows and paintdotnet but I get a feeling it will shit the bed all the same.

This simple idea of having 2 USB-C ports CANNOT be done because it stops the zoomer from buying wireless ear buds(battery inside will always go to shit and unusable in ~3 years)and you would be stuck using extremely affordable, high quality audio headphones or in ear buds(that are a bit too green for the planet in 2026) also the 3.5mm headphone jack looks like a penis that goes inside a hole and basically why aren't you a wireless, constantly charging gay trans in 2026 right now.am i finally getting it /g?

Why would I want to use wired earbuds? Those don't have ANC.

>>107827708I've been thinking about procuring a ThinkVision portable display to go with it. I just don't fully have a use-case for it. So I hold off. I prefer to save versus being overly consumerist. I don't know. I guess it's a right tech for the job approach.
>>107827328It's neat but>no numpad
>>107827945I cannot speak to that point. Although, my use of ten key on the shinobi is little. However, I would totally support Tex and procure any modular mechanical ten key unit, in the same ThinkPad style or aesthetic. I've seen a Targus and a Belkin stand-alone ten key, but it would have to match the shinobi. I might be a little consumerist if Tex released something like that.

Apple says Face ID is more secure than Touch ID but is that even true?Sure, Face ID is statistically less likely to return a false positive with random faces because faces are more diverse than fingerprints are but fingerprints are more randomly distributed, so the odds that you know someone who shares enough facial features with you (say, biological family members, for instance) to trigger a false positive have to be higher than someone you know having a similar enough fingerprint. Even though faces can potentially be more different between individuals, fingerprints are less often shared between people the user and people who regularly appear in his life, who are the most likely people to attempt to unlock his devices without his permission. Additionally, if you're holding someone else's phone in their presence, I'd imagine it's harder to unlock their phone against their will by taking them by surprise with Touch ID than it would be with Face ID. With Face ID, all the user has to do is glance at the device for even a split second. With Touch ID, you need to place your finger -- the right finger -- on the sensor and press. It's a more involved and intentional process, but also a more convenient one because you don't have to uncover your face or position yourself correctly or make eye contact with the device in order to initiate the unlock sequence. Shouldn't it also be harder to fabricate a counterfeit fingerprint than it would be to create a mask realistic enough to unlock the device?Basically, Touch ID seems just better than Face ID across the board. The only practical upside to Face ID I can think of is the ability to read notification details without touching the device. Is there something I'm not considering here or are fingerprint sensors just better than facial recognition?
>>107830634Around 70, but they gonna get you through DNA and all the mass surveillance in place though
>>107830597Even a pic of the person held at certain distance from the camera would work
>>107830658not with faceID
>>107830179The only thing they never factored in is whether a criminal can force your face into view to unlock your iphone, but in all honesty if you get into that kind of situation, you have a lot many more things to worry about.

>>107829295Yes, and those meanings are more often than not, not static. They shift depending on culture, the context, how intelligent most people are, how wealthy most people are, etc. I'm calling you an autist because only an autistic retard (such as yourself) could ever view words so objectively and literally.
I get it to help me with stuff and to search for me quickly but sometimes it just makes things up. One time I was comparing graphics cards and it decided out of the blue that the Rx 9060 xt was a fictional card from a TV show so I couldn't buy it and would be better off getting an rtx 5060. Stuff like that really makes me take everything it says with a pinch of salt.
In 15 years the future will be us living in dense studio rooms constantly entertained by ai generated content in a headset that can fullfill your every wish. You can be cool kid in high school, a hero in a japanese anime isekai or a ww2 spy in nazi germany. If ur considering killing yourself wait at least a decade until virtual reality plus brain computer interfaces and generative AI converge into best thing humanity made. You will have heaven on earthmost of us are ugly loser incels who probably missed out on our youth. Never felt kiss of a girl or a friend that actually cares. But in a decade plus you can have friends who love you, girl who is infatuated and all ur desires granted.Im just crying realizing that heaven is only a decade away and anons don't understand this. Our god is AGI and he will create a virtual safe heaven better than any heaven human religion could think of. So plz until god descends onto this mortal realm to release us of our suffering endure it cause eternity of bliss awaits you
i bet they won't let you have a virtual hebe gf even though its legal irl in several european countries

>>107830406I probably should have worded that as "why does it need to allocate memory that is writable and readable". I'm not claiming to really understand any of this as I'm a nocoder retard. Is allocating memory that's readable & writable as bad as selinux claims?
>>107830457you need to ask selinux people for thatbut my personal guess is, if you have access to memory then your program can do its thing, because without memory programs can't do anything no? so that's why it's being limited
>>107830392execheap isn't about readable and writable memory, but about writable and executable memory. it should only be one of them. It opens up possibilities for (malicious) code injection. That's why the JIT is having trouble. It's generating code during runtime.
>>107830449>was discoered not long after it was deployed>quickly correctedThat kind of proves my point. There are millions of autistis out there in the world looking at the linux kernel and other OSS. If selinux actually had a backdoor like jia tan, i cant imagine that it would have remained hidden all of this time.
